@@ZboeC5 umm ya that's exactly how trademarked property works if you want to use it for any sort of business. You realize someone owns that and everything else related to Dale right?
@@wyrdo1501highly doubt that would actually happen. It would make the officials look really bad to a mass crowd of people to sue over the name of a truck….
Need to coat those exhaust pipes. You're losing all that heat from the huge length. If you can keep the heat in, it'll spool faster and hold it better.
We've run the math on this time and time again. The energy lost due to transfer to the atmosphere from the exhaust is very minimal. It is impacting spool but it's something so small. You couldn't even see it in the data.
@@rustler08 I was wondering if they added a spark plug into the exhaust between the engine and turbo if that would help spool the turbo it would be combusting what's left in the exhaust before the turbos spooling them up more. It's similar how antilag works
Scary to see that tractor bulldozer working on the berm right outside the door. Don't underestimate how bad it could get. Fight it every chance you can. Don't underestimate how bad it could get. It took almost 30 years to close english town from when the development started. Maybe that's enough time for you. This seems to be faster. You are 1 person effectively one business against. How many houses and residents? The numbers outweigh you.
We might be watching the last it’s of this shop/track. Hate to say but your logic makes sense. Unless, there’s something to protect it like a local park or something along those lines. Cleetus & the guys can only do so much.
I was wondering if I was the only one that noticed that. And how nervous it made me. I’m being optimistic. Good things happen for good people. Well that’s how it should be. But Cletus is a very smart businessman. And before it or if it gets bad, he will make moves.
@@Wockkkyyslushieee He realistically has five years till developers start to offer a land swap deal + $$$. Victor & Cleet will eventually get an offer so good they can't refuse. Our commissioners are requiring all new home owners in the development to sign paperwork acknowledging the track. It still isn't a solution. Look at Laguna Seca lawsuits. But they also said "asLoNg As Im On tHE BoARd TherE wIlL aLwAys bE a TrAcK" But we all know they are full of shit long term.

Cooper in the background there. Always good to see him hanging out with you guys. Truck is going well, especially for early hits. Not knowing anything about this, I am a bit concerned about how it is tracking with that constant rear movement to the right, unless it's just wheelspin or something.
I aint been watching cleet for to long, but have seen many videos over the years. But recently this man been out using his own helicopter helping people suffering through the hurricane. Flying out water, insulin and helping get people to safe locations. Give this man a round of applause for literally saving lifes. Heres to you and your crew Cleet 🇺🇲👍
For those who don’t know cleetus is in NC helping with the flooding like this man dropped everything took the helicopter and is giving out aid the heart the bravery it takes to do this is absolutely insane this is why I’ve been here for so long this is why I watch him
It won’t matter, they lost the fight all the guarantees they got just kicks the can down the road a few years. It’s not a new situation, happens all the time to tracks and factories of all types. Built 20 miles out of town to avoid issues and people build next to it and complain about the noise and or smell of the very thing that made the area attractive to build in the first place.
We’re so proud of you Garrett. Thank you for helping this in this time of need after the horrible natural disaster. I know you’re too busy to see this now but I know you’re going to later on. We love you. You’re a super hero!!!
The vacuum pump is cool ! But.....I would definitely be worried about it loosing vacuum for whatever reason while doing a dyno pull. Maybe just pull the hubs for dyno mode.
I'm thinking the same thing those vacuum hubs loose vacuum for any reason during a dyno pull or even a burnout competition. Things are gonna get really entertaining and also expensive
SHOUT OUT TO CLEETUS AN MADDIE FOR THE HELP WITH THE HURRICANE VICTIMS. THIS DUDE RIGHT HERE IS A REAL AMERICAN PATRIOT AN I JUST WANNA SAY THANK YOU A GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER!!!!
The passing air might actually cause more problems unless you can get a ram air effect but that'll cause more drag, the air behind the rear window should be stable and work fine
Lol stable air behind the rear window of a truck! I take it you're not too experienced with CFD or testing aero. Behind that rear window is a disgusting mess of turbulent air that the turbos don't wanna find. It's tumbling off the cab straight past them *guaranteed*, there is literally no way fluid dynamics dictates those turbos are finding clean air. It's nearly as bad as you could possibly get.
@@happyzun9519 Yep 100%, if you look at some Baja trucks the design philosophy surrounding the radiator setup and cooling is very different - they're at the back of the bed where the flow has reattached to the boundary layer and regained laminar structure. The ones who stick it on the rear window still get hot with great shrouds and good fans. I LOVE the Dale truck but this thang is literally never gonna spool normally without a proper intake unfortunately.
To be honest, it’s not a bad idea, and they could also even out their weight just a little bit more by adding the nitrous or CO2 to the rear of the truck… If I’m not mistaken, they were 58% on the front They could probably knock that down to 55 or 56%
Any compressed gas shot into the compressor side of the turbo could spool it. I don't think using co2 would be a good idea given its ability to stop combustion. Kinda kills the whole internal combustion engine thing 😂@@MotorSwapDan
You all miss the point where he said the trans doesn’t have a dump valve? That’s all it needs. No sense in adding nitrous when a much easier solution is available.
@@billmadison2032 that's not really the point brother lol... But I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever fortunate enough to build my own 1000-2000hp drag beast like Ol' Cleeter

Hello Fresh is a scam too....20 bucks or more a meal for just enough to fill 1 adult. Factor is easier to cook but its just enough to make me mad that i dont have more
@@Shadow0fd3ath24portion control isn’t that hard. I was on hello fresh for years and it was handy. I’m a bigger dude with an appetite to suit, filled me enough that I didn’t feel like seconds. But I will say, their quality control was atrocious and random modifications to the meals you were expecting became frustrating to the point where it wasn’t worth it anymore. I kept my favourite meal recipes and just buy the ingredients.
I’m about positive that’s the old car they had, pretty positive cleet bought it back, because he said in the old videos the owners who won it said eventually they were guna sell it after a while of having it, and I remember cleet telling them he wanted to be the first one to be able to buy it back if they were going to sell it,
I wonder how much power loss there is at speed due to the turbos being behind the back glass (laminar bubble (trapped low pressure behind the cab)) may want to look into some diverter “scoops” to direct air into the turbo at speed
I’m wondering the same thing. Isn’t there a low pressure zone right behind the cab? Right where the turbos are. It’s going to need some scoops or a vent.
I was thinking the same thing when they decided to put em there..but wld look sick with some carbon pieces that run from the top of the cab down to the bedside ending right before the exhaust and molded to funnel the air right to the turbo inlet and maybe turn the turbos out a little
would the cab be causing a negative pressure in front of the turbo making em less efficient at higher speeds or nah? would it benefit from ram air into the turbo? not dissing just curious?
There was a big kerfuffle on FB about this, short answer from everyone was a resounding no in a nutshell. The turbos will pull air from wherever they can by the time they start building boost, and anything in front of the turbo would only slow down the airflow or restrict it at the pressures they run. Better to let them scavenge from wherever than bottleneck them. The airflow path behind the cab is very dirty and trying to capture the air off the roof would only slow it down with 2 hard 90ºs. Maybe a scoop through the cab but Cleet's seat is right in the way + why cut up the windows? I just saw a video on Driver 61's YT about Mercedes doing wind tunnel testing and it really goes in depth on how aero works, and there used to be a video about aero with a focus on the S2000 with the soft top/Mugen hard top. Both are worth a watch to get an idea of what's going on with the truck.
@@pearlbluesoulIt's too late now, but I would've canted the turbos outward then put intakes off the side of the cab, forming something of a fairing outboard of the triangulated bars for the cage. In theory the end result would resemble the air intakes of an A-4 Skyhawk, and avoid most of the losses you'd get from routing the ducts over the roof.
Negative air pressure is like dry water......it doesn't exist. It is either low pressure/ambient or a vacuum. The idea to cant the turbos is good, and probably would not be that hard for Tye to do. The turbos might make their own vacuum......I'm no expert at that, so maybe it does not matter enough to make a noticeable change. What is the difference between a vacuum and a blower.........which side you are on. The same exact electric vacuum motors are used for shop vacs or commercial vacuums and blowers to dry animals or vehicles. Of course, that is the basic idea not used for automotive, but it gives an idea of the opposite side of the coin to consider. For PC or equipment fans, some are designed to put out more pressure while others move more air when there isn't enough resistance for the pressure, and a 3rd type is great between the two extremes.........I just chose a fan to cool the cnc milling machine I am building, and ran across this only hours ago. 😁

If you lose vacuum to those front hubs when running on the Dyno it's going to get violent. Be safe. , love the build
That was my thought as well!
Could you not have vacuum pump with an inline solenoid thag holds the vac until you release the solenoid to re engage?
@@mattlandorf1595 still, if you lose the pump, you catapult out of the shop or destroy the hubs.
Yes. I would probably had removed the front wheels and placed the car on jackstands in the front if it where me. Or at least placed some rollers under the front wheels. I just don't trust a single component enough for shit like that.
Pump pulls vac then when hits a set vacuum the solenoid holds it, pretty simple control circuit and only fails if you lose power or flick the switch.

Nitrous will also fix that lol
I'd just Cerakote everything anyway as it looks so much nicer, plus less heat radiating to other components around the pipes.
@@ninaallen7849 was thinking nitrous for the leave as well.

Better factor in the freedom factory suffering from water not running off and being a lake
He should just keep doing his thing at this location until his new house is built and then just have everything moved on to the property.
Your boy Steve Morris added a 1.5 second shot of nitrous to help the lag from the turbos

Someone else said that and he said they’d just sheer off and would be a quick replacement
I'm thinking the same thing those vacuum hubs loose vacuum for any reason during a dyno pull or even a burnout competition. Things are gonna get really entertaining and also expensive
That much torque instantly would just break stuff before it went anywhere. Still wouldn’t be pretty though.
It wouldnt happen, if it engaged it would just chew it all up and break before it got to the wheels.
The instant shock of it locking up plus the truck being strapped down... It might move half an inch before the hubs broke.

It would look so cool with air scoops coming from the sides and into the turdos.
Yes. Those turbos needs better air flow.
@@johnbean2596reminds me of the mazda truck on roadkill channel with their radiator mounted right om the wall of the bed. And yeah it overheated
Thank you @Cleetus for your help with our state NC after hurricane
56:00 IMO use NOS or CO2 to spool the turbo during the launch.
To be honest, it’s not a bad idea, and they could also even out their weight just a little bit more by adding the nitrous or CO2 to the rear of the truck… If I’m not mistaken, they were 58% on the front They could probably knock that down to 55 or 56%
CO2 can spool a turbo?
Any compressed gas shot into the compressor side of the turbo could spool it. I don't think using co2 would be a good idea given its ability to stop combustion. Kinda kills the whole internal combustion engine thing 😂@@MotorSwapDan
They made changes to low end power and it did nothing, that would lead me to think the converter is too tight. I aint a drag racer tho
It doesn't look like 58% under power!! Lol it looks like 10% upfront...😂

Agreed like Steve just did on his car up front.
Yep. Way too much lag. No power until it's too late. 2 step sounds fairly tame.
When it’s on not my car, nitrous is always the answer. 😂😂
You all miss the point where he said the trans doesn’t have a dump valve? That’s all it needs. No sense in adding nitrous when a much easier solution is available.
Turbos are far too far away from the motor. Pretty hard to fix that.
Do something with that NACA duct. it's drawing the air into the cabin and right into your face / eyes.

I was thinking the same thing when they decided to put em there..but wld look sick with some carbon pieces that run from the top of the cab down to the bedside ending right before the exhaust and molded to funnel the air right to the turbo inlet and maybe turn the turbos out a little
Rest of the country: Florida is DESTROYED!
Florida dudes: Dang. We need to clean some insulation off of Mullet.
Buildings have no windows that's a plus
You are a hero. We live in Asheville and have friends in Chimney Rock. Atleast one of them got an airdrop today. Thank you so much. Legendary
would the cab be causing a negative pressure in front of the turbo making em less efficient at higher speeds or nah? would it benefit from ram air into the turbo? not dissing just curious?
The turbo setup reminds me of an A-10 Warthog
