    I've often struggled with stabilization using DaVinci Resolve as the subject always tends to warp a bit - doing a second level of stabilization is working like a charm!!

    This video is SICK. Not sure if I was supposed to see it because it's unlisted, but it was in the end cards of your most recent video. I've seen similar tutorials and I understand the concept of how to do this, but I -never- very rarely do this technique. It's so satisfying. I'm in Sicily until this weekend and I should really try this if the weather clears up. I also need to make the jump to DaVinci. I enjoy Final Cut, but I feel like DR is more powerful.

    Great tutorial. I’ve been trying to shoot some handheld hyperlapses myself editing first in lrtimelapse6, then stabilise with these methods in davinci. I’ve noticed even with smaller multi pass stabilisation, it can still have very small movements from left to right shaking which can make it look amateur. I assume this is just a matter of improving the shooting stage and alligning the fixed point more or using a tripod. Is there any ways of improving these shoots in software further in your opinion? Also wanted to see is davinci in your opinion the next best software for stabilisation / timelapse/ hyperlapse creation that’s is a one time payment and not a subscription model? Would love the adobe suite but only shoot as a hobby atm and just not at the stage of spending that much money per month

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад +1

      Shooting on 35 vs 24mm can help you with getting it better in post, one of many tips covered in the timelapse course (and e-book!), I'm still figuring out if DVR is good enough for the whole workflow, there are limitations that LRTimelapse is just so much better at, and AE then is better at manually stabilising etc so there still isn't a one stop shop, but we're getting closer and closer

    Hello Matt, I have a question hopefully you can answer. I use AE and DaVinci Resolve. If I import a .jpeg sequence using a 4:3 composition in AE and do all the tracking and motion stabilization, then export in a 4:3 format, I can take that video file back into AE and create a 1080 composition and scale down that footage to 33% (24 mp images)and have a lot of room to scale up footage without losing resolution, the problem when I import that same footage into DaVinci 1080 timeline the footage is cropped? I have to scale up to fill the frame. Why does this happen? I thought I would be able to scale down the footage as in AE, I have seen this done with Premier Pro, not sure why I cant do this in DaVinci ? Thank You.

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад +1

      Are you importing a 4:3 video file into a 16:9 timeline? That'll look cropped

  • @flepsomat
    @flepsomat Год назад

    I think it's a great tool for basic stabilization, as a repacement for the warp stabilizer. But the use of point trackers in AE is quite powerfull (also quite slow 😅), do you think it's possible to use the tracking features of resolve for hyperlapse work? I just tried it out but it seems to me as there is no specific function for stabilisation like there is in AE.

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад

      I'm looking into more advanced tracking as we speak! If it's there then it's game over for AE lol

    The assumptive that you "just drag the folder of sequenced picts" into DR is just that, an ASS-umptive.
    I've tried 4 different "sequenced" series tutorials (including this one), every one of them imports each pict as a separate 5 second-timed still upon the 300 images; reducing the image file count did not resolve.
    I've reviewed 3 other independent "how do to hyperlapse in DR and they all state similar to what you've stated. All ASS-umptives. All fails.
    The ASSumptive tutorial statement:
    "It (DR) will recognize it (the folder of sequenced images) as an image sequence..."
    Another ASSumptive is that the user already knows DR; you need to preface all your vids with a "getting started" link if you've created one. If not, create one to link to, especially as to your setup, as this is very important for new users as not to be looking around for objects you reference but may not be displayed on their UX.
    You use the phrase "media library", but there is no object / window / UX denoting "media library". You also ASSumptive on Bin1 & Bin2, but then new user isn't aware of this.
    Definitely a "10" as to an ASSumptive tutorial.

    • @carrythetruth20
      @carrythetruth20 Год назад

      Ah, your most major ASSumptive is you do not use "Studio" in either the title of the video or within the video itself. DR-Free will not do speed-warp re-timing. DR-Studio will, at $295, will do speed warp re-timing with its Neural Engine. Yup, yer an ASSumptive all by yerself.

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад +2

      Maybe instead of wasting everyone's time with this ASSinine comment, you can go to a beginner tutorial about DR before trying an advanced method, thoughts?
