„You can do whatever you want with my work, just never make me boring.“ (Freddie Mercury) Freddy Mercury would be one of the biggest fan of this performance
So happy Jacob is now getting the opportunity to perform (and enthrall) big crowds like this! And incredible how he so easily and smoothly adapts his style from small crowds of music geeks to huge audiences. Jacob = love of music!
I love how passionate Jacob is about getting audiences to feel the beauty of communal singing! So many people these days unfortunately see singing as a spectator sport, it's so nice seeing artists like Jacob work to combat that.
It's why I love the Grateful Dead. All of the fans know the lyrics and sing along, and the feeling of singing a song together with thousands of people is just pure magic. Probably the closest feeling to a religious experience that I've ever had. You just feel so close and connected with everyone else in the audience
Collier, indisputable musical genius - another level a lot of the time - stratospheric musical understanding..... However this was emmmm quite underwhelming and unsatisfying musically - a straight cover would've been really interesting - sometimes with truly great tunes less may well be more - it's weird that for such a Harmonic genius that this arrangement is harmonically bereft - certainly I'd prefer listening to the straight original than this. Cannot see this being pulled out in ten years as an example of something lasting. Nice bit of audience participation but musically, quite dull.
@@deeingalaplike Bit salty? Pretty much every defining voice in the world of music (Herbie, Quincy, Metheny, Zimmer, Crosby, Vai and hundreds of others) has heralded Collier as a musical genius and one of the most important musicians of his time. To deny his talent is clearly silly.
@@kathleesi no I love Queen just never been a massive fan of Jacobs flamboyant over the top harmonies style… but I do like his new single and love this crowd choir stuff
Awesome! Jacob is just so amazing live. Such a beautiful soul and his passion really brings people together. When I saw him live, it felt like such a communal experience. Everyone coming together in celebration. It's wonderful. If he is ever playing in your city and you have the chance to see him, I strongly recommend it. :)
YES JACOB 💚🌈💎✨️🫶 I do hope somebody filmed your entire set. Glastonbury was blessed indeed to have you. So much Gratitude for your existence on this Planet. Ti's a better place for beings like yourself 🙏🏽💫
A lot of criticism on this performance. Now no one is perfect I’ve been saying forever that Jacob is amazing but he lacks that little blue in his life to get that raw emotion like frank ocean for example. But all the persons who are hating on this performance need to take a step back get inside his shoes and try to this you’ll realize just how hard it is even in front 300 persons let alone 30,000 all n all this is an excellent performance good vocals too. And he and hopefully his band will only get better moving on.
Jacob no doubt has unreal technical ability and knowledge, but he uses songs as his musical plaything and it strips them of their core emotion and meaning
He sucks the very life out of everything he touches so he can show how much theory he knows. He’s like an over enthusiastic music teacher in a secondary school who thinks he’s bringing the gospel of music theory to the children. Like the anti Jack Black in “School of Rock”.

The best bit was 1:50. Even the crowd got bored and his reaction just made it worse

festival moments like this are such a celebration of human experience I love it
To all those who had never heard of Jacob Collier before Glasto 23...welcome. It's quite a ride following this absolute musical genius.

Take a bow Jacob, Freddie would give you a hug after a performance like that, and all in your own way too ❤
Jacob was my absolute favourite from this years festival. been following him for years, so blessed to see him live at last!
The part after this where he turns the whole crowd into a choir blew my mind.
Not my taste in music but an exceptional talent
Just to clarify: Queen is also not your taste of music?

gosh i love it when jacob plays the piano. Hes absolutely stunning!
Amazing ! This is performance connecting with the audience, a treasured gift for an artist.well done….
I had no idea 90s Jim Carrey could time travel and was so musically talented
Ha ha yeah we were saying they could play each other in their own respective life stories
Kindness, happiness and the purpose of art as they are
Reminds me of Mika, such raw talent & enthusiasm for entertaining via crowd participation 🥰
Pure light and positivity!
Delighted to discover this young man's music and delightful talent this week
I watched him live and he played this just a few days before in Bristol. Absolutely amazing
I was there too! What an unforgettable experience ♥️✨

He is incredible, beautiful version this song ❤❤❤🇧🇷
Such euphoric energy ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
A generational talent
What a showman!!
You go to a rock concert to hear a band perform for you. You go to a Jacob Collier concert to perform for Jacob Collier.
Now that is crowd control
If you're going to do Freddies song, you simply need to be able to do that.
Imagine having this on your setlist the day after Foo Fighters play main stage
so uplifting. very warm and beautiful performance ever!
I’ll die on the hill that nobody knows music better than jacob collier
One day he will learn the art of less. He’s very young so plenty of time!
2:46 I see that transision there 👀 amazing Beatles reference
just epic. like a dream that comes true.
This was pretty bloody good.
I love this song!!
Oh wow!! What a performance!!!
The only other performer to play the audience as an instrument. Amazing.
Bobby McFerrin?
Anybwody!!!
A interação com o público , demais amazing
Jacob Collier
Brian May was front row at his Union Chapel gig, while this song was also performed.
Surprised he didn't try to make the audience harmonize in microtonality.
That comes at another time in the show 😊 but best believe it did happen!
@@PatrickVerstit does! Or at the very least we weren't singing in standard tuning, the harmony was too sweet for equal temperament.
Somebody is you!❤❤❤
Amazing🤩🤩
Jacob Collier. In a previous life he was the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
Pied piper was a children murderer
so far, best cover freddie is definitely smilin up there
I don't know if there is anyone who can do a Queen cover, giving proper justice to Freddie's voice.
for the voice Marc Martel, for the performance George Michael
Try Adam Lambert 😮
I will go to colliers church every sunday
Incredible J!!
Freddie would have loved this!
wonderful performance from ace ventura
Seriously talented guy - better than some of the more “established” acts
Yes he is amongst the most talented musicians there has been in history. And has been for a while now.
Oh wow, I love it so much
His voice is getting better
Feels like he's gotten comfortable putting more power behind his voice, glad to see it!
thought the same
He's not relying on those darker tones so much, opening his voice up more.
First time I’ve seen him sound decent vocally, interested to see where he’s gonna go with it
Gold
legendary
I thought it was Ace Ventura in the thumbnail for a sec 😂
Fantastic.

WOW amazing
Please post the rest or the other parts
This guy is absolutely amazing, would love to see him live on stage when he tell the crowd how to sing
Super fun and very talented. I wish I'd been there.

Where can I get his shirt xD

It makes me so happy to see Jim Carrey finding success in a second career so late in life.
