I hate when someone tells me to relax, what I saw is what we've seen for the last 9 years. Start of the season, you're playing a team that is not expected to make the playoffs, our biggest rival in team history and they always manage to humiliate us. I know that there's 81 games left, but it seems the Leafs never come up big when needed. 55,000,000 dollars on 5 guys and none of them earned their pay tonight. It's like they love getting humiliated and embarrassed. They don't know yet, after 9 years as a core, what it takes to win as a team...they haven't got a clue, too many toys to play with and so many left to buy. If Berube can get this bunch to realize that, that would be great, but I highly doubt it...they keep embarrassing themselves and their fans.
The only thing about Woll, and trust me, I am concerned, is tht we dont know the nature of the issue. Is there a pattern here? Are they being very conservative as Stolarz and Hildeby looked so good in preseason? Everyone is going to be concerned but I don't think any of us know enough to determine how concerned we should be.

you guys are are way off, Toronto maple leafs have zero concept of a TEAM. They have a bunch of guys that play for stats, they play so they can get a raise by putting up points, same as usual. no suprises
coach was a grinder as a player, those types defer to the stars, i.e., let them float, while love their own kind, low skill bottom players, but demand (= whipping boys) middle payers do both, score, finish, after expending all energy banging and crashing, mcmann, jarnkrok, lilly, . The GM should have fired coach when he said he was playing Holmberg middle 6 center, and reaves ahead of jarnkrok and mcmann. McMann is not a 'power forward', Eric Lindros was a power forward, Bobby made the team when he showed he had a nose for the net and could finish at the NHL level, but after banging and crashing under new coach, he never went to the net once. Domi needs to play with Matty or Jarny. Willie needs a center like Chandler Stephenson. Benny - not 'raw' - needs a D partner like Lilly or McCabe. coach broke what wasn't broken last spring, and not fix what was broken (PP with no big net presence or shot from point). Who would follow Matty with a C into battle? Only GM upgrade is Tanev.
Give them 10 games to get use to the new approach, it will take that many games for the players to get use to each other style. Stolarz was excellent, may be he should be the number 1 goalie.
A new coach and staff, a fairly large number of new players, new schemes and systems ... so when they lay an egg, is it so surprising. I'm not going to hit the panic button over this. They did more than enough to win ... they just couln't score. It may take five to ten games to really get rolling. It wasn't good, but take a deep breath, folks. Now Woll ... that's not good look!
Loved Stolarz. He looked super solid and I felt more strength and confidence in the crease than last year. It's his form.
Stolarz played well enough to take the #1 spot, and you can keep Hildebeast up as backup. Stick the Freddy Anderson impersonator in the Press Box.
