It's expenses for costs - so it depends on what is claimed... which presumably depends largely on what she is invited asked to do and invited in that capacity... I'm thinking Davos and Bilderberg invites are unlikely... Davros and Build-a-Bear are possible though. It is also unlikely that the new gov will ask her to do anything.

There should be a review of Parliamentary pensions to get them off the gravy train and onto the same system of contributions as the rest of employed workers. From all the anecdotal evidence to Truss's lack of character combined w/bizarre speech where she feigned empathy/connection (something narcissists/sociopaths do to attempt to connect and manipulate people because their lack of conscience), I am convinced she's a narcissist and/or sociopath -- not dissimilar to Trump.
@@c2757the argument for the pensions is avoiding possible conflicts of interest. "Politician" isn't a skillset that is all that employable. So the idea is that the PM should be able to just focus on the job without worrying about financial ruin if they are voted out and unemployment.
The possible conflict of interest would be doing favours for donors etc. in exchange for employment. Like what David Cameron did when he became a lobbyist. It's supposed to reduce corruption

As an Irish person, I found that offensive. Not because it was derogatory towards Ireland and the Irish people, but it demonstrated the distain towards Ireland that existed in the Tory party over the past few years. One of the things that made me proud to be British, was the absolutely stellar conduct of the majority of winners and losers from this election. Chief among these course being the speeches from Sunak and Starmer... recognition, respect and reconciliation - both ways. Like when Labour were in opposition and backed the Conservatives on their approach to Ukraine. Unity and solidarity across party lines for a better country and a better world, is something that all parties, in all democracies, should aspire to.

She has access to an expenses account of £117,000 per annum from which she can claim expenses involved in being an ex-prime minister, eg the travel expenses involved when she travelled to the USA to share a platform with the egregious Steve Bannon.

I would exempt most Tory MPs themselves, because to do them justice, most of them shared the GENERAL PUBLIC's preference for Rishi Sunak over Truss. (The only actual Tory MPs who should be billed personally for all the damage caused, should be Truss herself, her Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the rest of her ministers.)
Broader party memberships of WHATEVER party, who represent nobody but themselves, HAVE NO BUSINESS interfering with the selection process of a prime minister, which should be the absolutely EXCLUSIVE PRESERVE of the general public's duly elected representatives in the House of Commons. Accordingly, the choice of prime minister should be by SECRET BALLOT of MPs alone, to prevent any improper influence being exerted by broader memberships of ANY party. If the then preference for Rishi Sunak over Truss, of both the general public and of actual Tory MPs themselves, had prevailed over the wishes of reactionary Tory party activists, significantly LESS damage would have been caused. (Though that could have had the unfortunate side effect of the Tories potentially surviving this general election, the deeper moral should still be obvious.) The imposition of Truss on the general public, against both their wishes and those of most Tory MPs by reactionary Tory party activists, was a conspiracy against the general public, for which those Tory party activists should be forced to PAY. AND INCIDENTALLY, IF, PERISH THE THOUGHT, SIR KEIR STARMER WERE EVER TO RESIGN, THE CHOICE OF SUCCESSOR SHOULD RESIDE EXCLUSIVELY WITH ACTUAL LABOUR MPs.
