how much would you charge to make one of these for me and record it my dad has been a tree trimmer for 25+ years and he collects knifes. id love to get him one for a gift.
Little suggestion in the future. soak your chain in a solution (some people prefer different things) to get rid of a lot of the rust and such from areas you can reach with a wire brush. otherwise chainsaw chains would make an excellent knife and im happy to see someone taking on a challenge
Great job bra I'm doing a bit myself but all hammer and anvil = sore arms lol I was wondering where did you get your power hammer?? Is it a local aussie job ?? Did it cost much ?? Thanks bra Scott
Nice work. A safety suggestion to remove your cutoff hardy from the anvil when not cutting. Many a smith has struck their hand on it and severed their fingers on the hammer hand. 😄
Steve Rogers Wow. Maybe you should go outside and do something dangerous instead of sitting behind a keyboard. Post up with you have some videos of you doing something more than typing.
. More people are using the name Damascus simply because they can get the swirling patterns. It's fraudulent and should be stopped. Damascus steel is only a name, given to the south Indian WOOTS steel workers pre 1700's. Most of these blades were sold in Damascus, Syria, where the blade bearers praised it as the finest steel. Thus Damascus steel was born. The art of making these woots steel blades was lost by the 1800's possibly by the infringement of the British holding company. People also use thick steel cable to get this effect. Stolen valor at it's finest. A good looking blade no doubt, but not Damascus steel.

I'd like a closer look at the power hammer. It looks homemade and I've only seen manufactured power hammers in blacksmith videos.

ive always wondered if people are concerned about the tack weld ending up in the blade?
from my experience the weld generally pops off during the 2nd or 3rd weld heat

another safety suggestion would be to wear that mask he has hanging up while he is welding
+David Moehilg he closes his eyes when he welded the stray end
+Mike Romo Another safety suggestion is to live in a padded room and never go outside coz its dangerous.
