Installing Burly Brand Foot Pegs On My Rebel 1100!

Front tire developed a leak and started going flat on me when I was doing 70 down the highway. I noticed the wobble and vibes and was able to pull over and stop in time.
@@LifeOfBurch doing fine man. The physical damage is limited. Just my knees and ankles hurt a lot but nothing is broken, just some bruises. The damage on the motorcycle on the other hand is huge. Luckily the car had admitted guilt and i will recieve the money but still it will take a lot of time before the bike is repaired. All the paperwork makes me crazy sometimes 😅

I think the factory ones are sleeker and look better but maybe that’s just me since I have no complaints on them 🤷🏻♂️
I never had any complaints about the stock ones either, but these are just sooo much better for what I’m looking for! I did a similar look on my Rebel 500 too.

I traded in my 500 for an 1100 manual yesterday ( thanks in part to your reviews) and I noticed the crappy pegs immediately probably going to be the first thing I change out I'm also going to get the MX style break lever I don't like the round one at all the pegs on the 500 were similar to these but with rubber inserts
Congrats on the new 1100!! 🎉🍻 I’m stoked to have played a part in that! All of the MX style stuff that I’ve put on here is honestly some of my favorite stuff I’ve added. It’s SO much more comfortable and grippy, and the brake/shift pedals are sooo much heavier duty. My girlfriend even loves the MX passenger pegs cause it gives her more of a platform to sit her feet on!

The hex key for the adjustment bolt on the Burly pegs is not 6mm. Almost stripped one side cause of these instructions. That bolt is 7/16-14 which is not metric it is SAE. You need a 1/4 inch hex bit.

If I were you I would angle it a bit upwards front. Most of the time your front foot part will be there and I feel it should be less tiring for your legs to keep it like / instead - because you can rest it that way.

You probably already have gotten this question, but do you think the framing would line up on the 500 to fit these pegs? I get my first bike Saturday and sadly I have larger feet so these pegs would be perfect for me! Amazing video as always man

Did your 1100 come with the black foot pegs? All I can find for the 500 is black mounting bars with silver foot pegs.. (want the full black out look) maybe you know somewhere I can get the all black version you have? Mine is a 2022 should be the same as all prior 500 and 300 but no idea if it is the same for an 1100. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Nope, ape hangers aren’t my style personally. I’m hoping a company comes out with some t-bars instead!

They don’t, but I was considering seeing if these would fit on my 300 just so I’d know. But you can also “make” MX style pegs for the 500 just by taking the rubber insert out of the stock pegs. It’s just one nut on the underside and you’re done. That’s what I did on my 500 and it had a considerable amount more grip!

That cotter pin design/locking mechanism to keep pegs in place is as old as the Rebel 250.
I truthfully can say I greatly dislike Cotter Pins, they are in various sizes and lengths and honestly a screw and locking nut/washer thing would be nicer..
