Due to the placement nope, pull the whole motor like it is in this video, do timing chain etc while its out. Modern cars are not designed to be worked on with the engine in car.
I know this is an old comment. But I’m currently in the middle of pulling it out while it’s in the car and while it can be done. I don’t recommend it. If you have the means, definitely remove the engine first
@@nathanrobinson8546 what is the symptoms of a bad turbo ? My car just started to decelerate and I had to pullover and white smoke starting to happen and now my oil light is. Please help
@@andres_riojas yep, sounds like a bad turbo. Mine did the exact same thing and made a grinding horrible noise at about 1500revs and above, not driveable on the road, but was able to be driven onto a trailer and moved around kind of thing.
@@lachlanparker346 bought our 2011 cx7 with 50,000km on it. Have done oil changes every 5000km with quality full synthetic oil and our turbo just blew at 150k km on it. They are definitely prone to failure.
I recommend replacing turbos on family cars/suvs around 120,000 miles. I just bought a 08' cx7 turbo with a bad turbo at 150,000 its drives really horrible. Heat is what kills anything in the long run, especially in vehicles where the engine block gets reeeeally hot and dissipates that heat to surrounded components.
At 2:09 ur hand is around some hoses and was wondering if u could tell me where they go? 2 hoses on the transmission cant figure where they go. I've watched 2 videos of urs and ur all over it but I still cant see where they go 😩
May I ask what let you believe the turbo had gone bad ? I get some idling issues and occasional dip on gear change pull seems mostly good but when I accelerate more so when warm. I get a swirling sound followed by a low end bass like sound any help is grateful thanks
@@kevinhancock4064 Yep Castrol is what you want for a sludge free engine. Maybe Mobil 1 does as well, but I personally use Castrol and whenever I have to tear one down I'm amazed at how clean they are. Stay far away from Quaker State.
You check any cx5 forum and they are all raving about how good and trouble free their cars are. but none of the cars are older than 5 years. These people are speaking the truth. I keep my cars for about17 years and don't buy turbos.
WHEN TURBO IS REPLACED WHICH PROTOCOL MUST HAVE THE DIAGNOSIS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE IT FROM THE ENGINE ECU. I WOULD LIKE TO BUY AUTEL MK808TS. THANKS THOUSAND.

Exactly what I need to know. Love your content bro. Get right to the point.10/10
Do you need to remove the exhaust manifold off, or can you leave that on and slide the turbo out towards the battery area?
Hi thanx for the video, what was the fault code?
Have you made the video on replacing the turbo while it's still in the car? Thank you for this video.

Are the turbos on these CX-7's troublesome? I see so many people complaining of failures of them.
Yes we just got a 2009 CX7 and it is a lifelong smoker lol.
Just replace oil every 10000kms and it'll be fine

Oil line to our turbo blew at 150k, turbo went at same time on our 2010.

Please share video on how to replace turbo with engine on the car.
Do you have a video on Mazda Cx7 turbo removal ? And where is it located? Do you have to bring out the engine in Cx7 too?
I have 2010 Mazda cx7 AWD. I find it impossible to remove one of the oil return oil line bolts without engine removal.
@@kevinbillington5919 were you able to undo the bolt? I have the same car
How long of a job is that in hours??
do you know if the CX5's turbo is accessible without pulling the engine?
Absolutely not, you'll need to pull the entire engine

Late reply but most of the time a failed turbo will start billowing smoke from the tailpipe that is quite noticeable (and embarrassing).
@chrislack7219 true I've read that.. I had my turbo done (turbo kit ) not cheap
