So helpful, thank you. My pattern arose 15 min ago and with this inquiry I realized it's my resistance to what is happening that has me contracted everywhere you mentioned. I saw clearly that it is just a reaction and does not do anything. Instead the doing comes from "here" and there is nothing I need to do. What a relief, much gratitude!

So much insight here. This moves directly to the issue of separation and our 'missing'. The ability to see through the fearful mind from the larger space of awareness. Thanks Sam. Peace

This is probably one of the most impactful videos for me for some reason as I posted yesterday, a lot of things just "clicked". Your last comment about how it could take a while to be absorbed ("embodied") is also a wise addition and that in the mean time this action or non-action is still worth doing. However, even though now for anxiety that shows up more slowly allowing time to prepare this works great, sometimes things happen suddenly and reaction is happening, etc. I hope this makes sense. For instance, anxiety when laying awake at night thinking about the day tomorrow (which is easily handled by the techniques in this video, spoken lightly) is different from anxiety when there's a road rage incident and the person in front of you is behaving in a difficult manner. The ego is being triggered in both cases but in the first case it's easier to put these realisations to use quickly whereas in the latter case the ego is still in charge.

Hi Ram! I'm glad the video has had such an impact for you!
Yes, I can see the difference you're pointing to. What's beautiful is that familiarizing with Being also serves as a great inoculation for those situations where intense emotions suddenly show up, meaning that we aren't pulled into a fixation quite as easily. If a fixation suddenly occurs, it is always very useful to have simple and accessible reminders that create a bit of space and allow for the subequent recognition of Being.

That hand trick was good. Was thinking about this the other day. Most of the time you even have a conversation with someone it's rare that you think before you speak, unless someone asks you a question.
I'm currently reading a book called 'The courage to be disliked'. Finding it incredibly useful don't know if you've read it?

Is there awareness there only so long as the sensation is there? In other words, if there's "nothing", then there's no awareness too right? For instance, if I feel the sensation of me sitting down, it is located clearly. The awareness of it seems diffuse, infused* with both the sensation but also beyond it at once, like we say that it arises within, has this space-like quality to it (finally get that). But it seems to be dependent on that sensation, i.e., there's the sense that because of that infusion* (of sensation and awareness) that without the sensation, awareness would also not be felt. If we do feel awareness, then what is aware of that - it becomes recursive.
**I wrote "infusion" before I went to the part where you talked about intimacy, exactly, now I know what "intimacy" means! Wow, all these terms people have been using for months/years have become clear suddenly. I had no idea until now what spaciousness really meant, same with intimacy. It is that infusion of sensation and awareness without a boundary.

Beautiful! That's precisely what I'm pointing to when I say "intimacy".
