Someone has to be the best singer you’ve ever heard. For many thousands of her fans, it’s Angelina. It’s very surprising you haven’t heard her before. She covers multiple genres, but blues and jazz are her anchor. Her opening performance on Norway’s Got Talent at 7 was Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. Angelina is 16 now, and it’s impossible to tell you how good she is. She arranges all her songs, and you will remember her versions.
Bohemian Rhapsody is amazing, but not unusual. I could give you dozens more this good. Angelina is known as the girl with a thousand voices-and you just have to start listening. She’s 16 now. My suggestion: watch something recent to understand that she is unique. Her cover of Easy on Me will make you forget Adele’s version. Want to hear one of the purest jazz voices you ever heard: try My Funny Valentine that she just released this year. Or watch her most recent video: her cover of Elvis’s Suspicious Minds is spectacular-musically, vocally, and visually. Then you can go back to younger Angelina and be blown away by the best child singer you’ve ever heard. Just start listening.

I've now seen this video well over 1000 times and, you know what? Watching it with you is as if I was watching it for the first time! Her glow never diminishes and she is a very, very special performer. If you continue to follow her and read the comments (which resemble short stories rather than one liners because everyone has so much to say about her) you will find out what a wonderful human being she is and what her desires are. Her connection to the listener is astounding and she touches a person's heart strings to such a degree they have never experienced a feeling like that in their lives!
She is now 16 and despite her incredible popularity around the world she still hasn't been officially marketed to the world yet (family decision) because her team (and Angelina) want her to finish her education and also enjoy life as a teenager as best as she can before committing herself to her career full time. Born in Norway, the family moved to Los Angeles just before the pandemic and eventually signed a deal with Republic Records. Republic accomplished that signing by adhering to Angelina's family wishes and they have been a solid participant in guiding her along. They understand, like all of her fan base (her 'angels') that Angelina is someone very special, indeed, and needs to be protected and I feel confident she is surrounded by people who will do just that.
Perhaps she's touched your heart already. Your heart rules when it hears Angelina's voice and you will realize that when she starts to sing and after only a couple of notes of a song you will get "the feeling" inside you.

Enjoyed that and you are in luck as she did a cover of Valerie when she 12. Its attached to a video of her on a beach with her little sister dancing in the background. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Otherwise there is an official video of her doing Back to Black at age 10 , she rewrote the lyrics in the 24hours prior to make it age appropriate. ( accompanied by Kork orchestra)

the reason for her being barefooted is so sweet. She became friends with a young girl when in a foreign country and noticed she was always barefoot. She asked why and her friend said they could not afford shoes. So, Angelina gave her own shoes to her and performs with bare feet in tribute to her friend. After hearing that, my heart opened and gobbled her up.

She started singing at the age of one year and a half and has been arranging her cover songs since she was 6 or 7 years old. She started with jazz!! She won “Norway Got Talent” at the age of 8!! Angelina noticed a girl her age making some money by asking passers-by to stand on her bathroom scale to be weighed. In order not to soil the scales, Angelina took off her shoes. She chatted with the girl who wasn't wearing shoes and learned that she is an orphan. The girl admired Angelina's beautiful shoes. Angelina then gave the girl her shoes. The girl thanked her and said she would pray for Angelina every day. In return, Angelina promised her that she would always sing barefoot at public performances until all the children had shoes. Until today Angelina has kept her promise. In 2014, she sang barefoot outdoors at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring Malala in December. She also sung barefoot at a dinner with ex-President Obama. At the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about this story, becoming the youngest published author in Norwegian history. You just heard my favorite vocal artist & song arranger that I've ever heard in my 75 years. Although she has only recorded 5 original songs so far, they are all great. She is currently working on her 1st album since she signed with Republic Records of UMG that is suppose to be mostly or all original songs. She has done almost 200 cover songs over the last decade, that are really reinterpretations of the songs, rather than just covers. She really makes them her own & they are usually better than the originals, IMO. Liked & subed for more Angelina reactions.
Angelina is now my all time favorite musical artist from my 63 years, as her music is on a level I have never heard before. As talented as Angelina is, she is an even better human being, humble almost to a fault and filled with empathy. Please read the biography I compiled for her.
Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and has sung a song in Japanese.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano and guitar and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
A 9 years old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.
When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon control over her career.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On RUclips, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video.
The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram.
Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022 and videos are available.
Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be.

Right, I have not yet seen anyone mention that fans FLEW to Norway this summer FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD because that was where they would find Angelina in live concert, which sold out and another had to be scheduled.
You want "Valerie", she's got "Valerie". Her cover of the song is located on her official cover channel. But not to stop there, Angelina's ability to arrange, perform, and inhabit the songs she sings is absolutely phenomenal. If you want a real treat, check out her cover of "I Put a Spell on You", the 1956 jazz classic by Screamin Jay Hawkins. Be sure to watch the "black and white studio performance", as this is a masterpiece cover of the song, never again repeated by Angelina. She was 9 years and 2 months old when she arranged and performed this one, a year after winning Norway's Got Talent.
‘Masterpiece’ is a limited way of saying with English what was accomplished by Angelina at age 9. Screening J Hawkins created a masterpiece composition, which received a masterpiece rearrangement and a masterpiece performance.

This interpretation of her is absolutely memorable, for her incredible technique, for the ability she had to re-read such an iconic song in a more intimate way and for the intensity of her interpretation, at only 13 years old! This is a splendid example of Angelina's extraordinary and unique work, of her extraordinary intelligence and musical sense of hers, through which she absorbs and transforms into her interpretations of her the great songs she loves so much. Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

Since she as 7 yo steped up on the stage her in Norway and started out doing two covers from Billie Holiday`s list of songs. Of course she did 😵💫 She DID tell us back then that she was just an ordinary youg girl. But one that simply loves to sing. And WOW - did she sing. I enjoyed your review. Angelina still always performs barefoot. When she was about 6yo on a trip in the middle east she met a girl, about her age, weighing people to earn money for her family. Angelina gave the girl her shoes because it was cold and she had scars on her feet. At that time Angelina said she would not wear shoes on stage until all children had shoes.
FYI Angelina has been crowned the "Barefoot Princess of Jazz" by the youtube community. She has sang at "Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration" in London. Mr. Jones has not seen someone this talented at such a young age since Micheal Jackson.

Then you have a problem to watch next. there is a lot of performances at 8 that is outstanding , the cover of " I put a spell on you " ( her own arrangement at 9) and then there is about 160 plus covers and songs of her own that is so good its difficult to make a choice. She did a Amy W cover at 10 " Back to black " where she change within a few hours some of the words and she also did " Valerie ". From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the final on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Although “Mercy” is really growing on me.

on 1-10-22. Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & a big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it
at 9 called “Between Two Hearts” & she was/is the youngest to be published in Norway.

Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
