      I think the extreme amount of personal coverage ( media) of celebrities is unique to Korea. I don't see it elsewhere as this prevalent. You just can't get this much info on a person outside of korea. Some people get so emotionally involved in their personal lives this way that they feel like they truly know these celebrities, should have intimate access to them, and can force personal time with them. Even scripted videos with celebs are viewed as true real feelings of the performers. It really all comes down to money for entertainment businesses. Obsessed people buy all merch made, go to all concerts and appearances, buy more copies of albums, songs. Why slow/stop the money train to see who they've injured or killed when it's more profitable to move on. Sick.

    • @stillyfe
      @stillyfe 9 месяцев назад +4

      @foggylegg6362 Absolutely. The sad thing is that the catered to audience falls for this money making gimmicks to the point of unhinged obsession. It's psychotic, not to mention psychologically damaging for both the celeb and the fans. The companies should be sued for not taking necessary precautions and more to protect their artists. This level of obsession is highly concerning. What the flip has the world come to? Common sense has become a total commodity and a rarity.

    • @ВалентинаИзтитова
      @ВалентинаИзтитова 6 месяцев назад +2

      It's all because of corruption.
      I believe that the owners and shareholders of entertainment companies need sasaengs and stalkers.
      Creating interest and attention around the artist is additional publicity for promotion without the company having to invest any money.
      Therefore, show business companies, using corruption, do not allow the authorities to fully cope with this shameful phenomenon.

      lucas from nct was put on hiatus by sm for years bc he called out a saesang who then made up fake rumors about him. he recently had a documentary come out and its like the life in him has been sucked out. everything that made him lucas - his confidence, his loud exclamations, his positive attitude - all gone. and its all bc he wanted to protect himself and his members.
      clearly after so many years sm is still failing us. this is not a price they should have to pay for their careers.

    Wth the police responding with “it’s natural for fans to want to see their idol” is crazy, it’s so sad for idols because they have to endure a long period of harassment from Sasaengs and only then will the public view their case as ‘severe ‘ and talk about it and also involve police action, it’s so crazy how if they tell their stalker’s to back off they’re seen as ‘rude’ or ‘ungrateful’ of their fans.
    The K-pop industry in itself is crazy because for other celebrities around the world they have the concept of being ‘fans’ ofc there are some ‘crazy fans’ but the crazy fans term is South Korea is on another level , while in other parts of the world people are ‘fans’ of the works put out by celebrities in Korea fans view their celebrities especially idols as something they own and are ‘entitled’ to simply because they purchase their albums,tickets and support them.
    This whole concept is so disturbing the entitlement that this fans have is crazy the whole point of these idols are to produce something with their hard work and we are fans of their products not the producers alone, this very concept gets blown away in the K-pop fandom , fans mistake supporting their idols by being fans for their works for simply supporting them because they are fans of the ‘idol ‘ not the work they put out hence comes the understanding of ‘what you are right now is because of your fans’ which ofc is true but in this case not only does the hard work of the idols goes unnoticed but they are reduced to nothing but ‘property of fans’
    A normal person would purchase an album because they are a ‘fan of the groups works’ this is lost in the transaction process of k-fans who think they’re ‘buying their idols ‘ rather than the product put out
    Not only are the fans crazy but also are the companies for putting out some very boyfriend/girlfriend suggestive contents knowing that these will attract not only normal fans but also garner unwanted attention. I believe that the existence of sasaengs are also very much part of the company’s fault for not having enough restraints against such situations which prompt the sasaengs to think it’s that easy to get close to their idols which leaves an example to upcoming sasaengs.
    What sasaengs want won’t be considered ‘love’ or ‘mutual feelings’ from their idols but instead they see the idols as something they are entitled to have and are simply an object which is particularly reserved for them. I think there should be a deep dive of Sasaeng culture because I think not only are these fans obsessed or crazy I think it also shows some underlying mental disorders.
    Ofc it’s not only Korean fans there are some other nationalities sasaeng, not all Korean fans but it’s mostly them

    • @KPOPNook
      @KPOPNook  10 месяцев назад +4

      Appreciate you sharing your thoughts! yess ain’t it crazy how the police just brushed off his report like that 🤦🏻‍♀️
      and you’re right, the entitlement is crazy.. but part of it.. this industry actually grooms sasaengs
      at least when you are a more well known celebrity you have more means such as JJ who keeps moving house, buying new cars etc
      we read stories of when sasaengs targeted nugu groups and that’s actually sad, cause one of the manager said it’s a dilemma since they (the sasaengs) are the ones who spends the most..
      and nugu groups can’t really refuse much cause they still not that “celebrity enough” and it can cause bad reputation
      it’s literally between a rock and a hard place 🤦🏻‍♀️

      Do you know of he has his own plane like a private jet?
      It’s so sad that true fans can‘t really do anything. He always says how grateful he is about true fans etc. about the things they do for him and that they love him. But this doesn‘t help anything about the crazy fans, does it?
      Imean politics etc. don‘t Even try to change anything for the security of idols. And real fans are probably not allowed to hunt does crazy fans down and go against them with legal action or even do something about crazy fans on themselves. I mean something like hunting them down and scare the shit out of them but without harm. Talking to JJ for example in person on a private basis isn‘t possible because his trust to the world must be damaged a lot. He will always meet fans on a concert or meet and greets or in videos, these are non private occasions to talk to him, he will stay professional and don‘t get me wrong here please, it’s important for him to stay professional and don‘t get in private contact with fans. But what I thinking of os simply telling him in private real fans will never be like crazy fans and he can contact any time he want real fans to talk to them every time he is scared or anything. This would maybe help him mentally or even he could call fans, who live close by to ask them if they could help with the police, then he calls the Police says that is he in danger and there Are Even other persons who try to help.
      But I understand that he also does want to be out of public in certain times.
      It’s just sad that we can‘t like really help him with big results like crazy fans stopping from their actions.

It's almost insane-- because everyone understands she can never use public transport safely anyway, yet they still criticize her for it instead of looking at wasteful billionaires instead. With western artists, they never talk about sasaengs when they clearly exist everywhere. My heart goes out for jaejoong who wasn't as fortunate as taylor swift is to afford his own safety, privacy, and mental health through a little private transport even just for a short while of rest and reprieve. Honestly, whenever Jaejoong is being asked either by his parents or by his fans when he would get married, I think the answer lies within his experiences and past. Somewhere between SM's slave contract, the ongoing battles, the stalker incidents traumatizing him and the police doing nothing to protect him, saying how "they are your fans, you shouldn't file a report", I'm certain Jaejoong looked at himself in the mirror one day and wondered who would put up with a life like that to be with him. A life with zero privacy. Who would lower their walls and let go of something as precious as the notion of privacy to hold his hand, knowing a stalker is within the house, ready to take pictures and expose. Especially with what happened with Seunghan nowadays.
    When he launched Jae & Friends, wanting to make friends, I came to the conclusion that everyone who saw him back in the day never approached him because his idol persona being the cold and mysterious man broke the 4th wall into his real life and he was deemed unapproachable by peers and juniors, cold and distant.
    Jaejoong will forever remain in my heart as my ult idol, knowing that stalkers and companies alike single-handedly gave him the dream and then destroyed his life.

    These are not fans. They are stalkers, terrorizing people. Korean laws need to label them and treat stalking as a serious crime with steep fines and some jail time. These stalkers have family with money and connections. Can pay people off for info. Hire the taxis. Get hotel keys as with 2pm. Airline tickets and travel. Maybe that's why the lack of prosecution. The families of these basically make the gdp and the laws there.

    I am no expert by any means but I've found out recently that some people view Korean law as too lax (I live in the USA). Even over here, if someone accuses another person of stalking and informs the police, different states have different laws determining what can/should be done. The idea that sasaengs, stalkers, fanatics, etc. are still a problem should be in trainee's beginner's guide (book, pamphlet, notebook, sticky note...) and people should always remain aware of the fact that musicians, idols, movie stars, and TV stars are simply people.

    Legal action is so far beyond over due. It’s disgusting to me that the labels & staff EVER allowed it to get as bad as it has. This artists provide the luxurious living those around them have yet they have to live & work in constant fear. What will the punishment be to those they threaten the countries national treasure? The treasure who are those countries economic hero’s?
    Slaps on the wrists like the SA scandals get? Or the no justice for the online stalking & bulling that played huge parts in artists that chose self exit as their only way to be left alone?
    I’ll be curious to see the results. I’ve been reporting a channel that goes to each BTS member’s homes for over a year & he’s STILL doing it as if today.
