The problem can be fixed inside gallery...in gallery if we select a photo and make it to set as wallpapper and give make as AOD we can make that perticular photo as AOD clock style from gallery if AOD is ON

@A42yearoldARAB now one need to have a 6 digit pin to unlock phone without tapping ok after entering password my pin is just 4 numbbers so I need to tap ok after entering password tapping on notification icon text opens more options but now it takes to app except for wifi bluetooth and torch
@A42yearoldARAB also the orientation and brightness in always on display along with having our own stickers as always on display and if you ever used live messages app of s pen and also know a little bit of caligraphy then you know the pain due to loss of that app 😕

Nah, this is not a solution! The fiix should not go through GoodLock/Lockstar, this should be STOCK settings! For instance, I can't download Goodlock, due to geographic location restrictions, we all should have this option as stock setting, to adjust AOD brightness. Samsung really dropped the ball on this, the AOD is really dim, the other frustrating thing is, that all notification icons are not color coded.
OM F G , came here because of brightness of aod when my s23 ultra is in a dark place after oneui6.1 update but indeed the freaking icons are not colored, like the green whatsapp icon. Samsung you are absolute morrons.
It is possible to get access to Goodlock even if it is not available in your country. You have to remove your sim card, turn on a vpn to a country that has goodlock available (America, korea etc) and then clear data of the the galaxy store (long press galaxy store app-> app info -> storage -> clear data). Once you do all of these and reopen the galaxy store app, you can find and set up goodlock. Hope this helps.
I used to use Samsung as the excuse to defend against iPhone. Now, I'm starting to see it as a reason to go. The fact that you get no choice about installing these updates, they don't TELL you everything they are changing, and they are fundamentally changing what your $1200 device does after you bought it, should be lawsuit worthy.
You can only choose the style of the clock on the always on display. Using the Good lock or lockstar apps is useless. The "update" took away choice. Samsung took it upon itself to change the color of the digits. It didn't ask, it just did it and removed the ability to edit or change colors. This is an update? This is "more powerful features"? The update also requires you to give lockstar access to your contact list. This 6.1 UI is invasive, not an update, changes your settings whether you like it or not, and then removes your ability to change it back. More invasion of privacy, less choice, styles you didn't ask for and can't change. That's your update.
OneUI 6.1 is trash 🗑 😒 I don't know why I have to get all these applications from samsung app. It's apps alot of people don't want now they are suggesting them to fix a big screw up.

There's also a slight change with the Edge Panels...if I am not going senile you used to swipe from the right (or left) and swipe again to get the next one. Now you swipe once and they're all there....lemme explain...you have to swipe them back in to see the next one and the next etc. I hope you got the idea.

One UI 6.1 killed the edge clock for AOD! I've used it since the S7 edge and worked flawlessly on my nightstand to see the time at night. Thanks a lot #Samsung bring back the edge clock!!
Note to Self: To change clock color on Always On Display, go to: Settings -> Wallpaper and Style -> Click on left image (lock screen image) -> Click on the Clock there -> Choose color (scroll to the farthest right for more colors) For future reference!!!
Same here. My AOD is updated, I have Goodlock, but now Goodlock doesn't have the clock option for the AOD screen, and Lockscreen doesn't have the brightness open. 😭
I realised another issue with 1UI 6.1. When the videos are in preview mode and u want to move it forward, it keeps repeating unless you open it with a video player.
AI features seriously not worth. It messed up the S23 series even more all the good things has been taken out. The only good thing is theme park is fixed in 6.1 as 6.0 i was not able to change the colour. Thanks for small mercies they bring back the 3 lines swipe gesture through Navstar
there are only 2 apps for s pen and those are penup and live message and now they have removed one of these 2 from 6.1 and it is the lovely live message app not good #samsung bring it back, firstly there are not so many apps for s pen and now you are also removing apps instead of adding apps for s pen 🤦♂️
Does Lockstar enable you to change the portrait orientation of the AOD display or is that feature just completely gone now? This update is SO frustrating. I hate when these kinds of changes are pushed to users.
I get from Galaxy Note 20 Ultra to Galaxy S23 Ultra and for now 1 thing is DOWNGRADED! It is ALWAYS ON DISPLAY brightness only adaptive! And no way do that it be always bright like was in 20 Ultra... stupid downgrade as was options use adaptive or alwwys bright 😅

If y'all want to set your aod back to an image from your gallery without the finicky interface of lockstar you can go to the Samsung gallery app and choose your desired image and hit the the options button on the top right then hit set as wallpaper then always on display. ;)
The update on the S23 Ultra with adding all the AI bloat wear has messed with the battery just slightly. That's why there are many complaints about the S24 Ultra. Samsung is doing too much for BS hype over AI. Rather use my brain on human skill over AI.
How do I get my swipe navigation to work?! All it will do is HOME with center swipe. No left or right sides to go back etc. How do I fix this? I set it to swipe Navigation in settings after update but nothing! So mad!

I do not understand why the AOD display settings does not have an option to show AOD only for 5 or 10 seconds after I lock screen and then disappear.. Either I need to keep it always on or I need to keep it at tap to show... Why? Just why? Every other brands like the oneplus, pixel etc. have this option. But samsung seems to be blind.
Putting brightness on manual and then turning extra brightness on helps a little on the AOD brightness. It still reacts on daylight changes. Mainscreen doesn't then unfortunately. No brightness slider available in lockstar. Also not on double tap for me while being in AOD screen. Some it does. Having a S24 Hong Kong Edition. That update you said is only available by APK download. Not official by Samsung released in the appstore here. It did Install but no changes for brightness. Did have an extra screen for difference between AOD and lockscreen. Really would like to see an option to set minimum brightness in AOD. So my notification app LED Me Know indicator app is more bright. (illuminate ring around my Front cam.) GLIMP notification app does light up the whole screen for short notification popups. I think lockstar is about the same.
Still after the fix the Icons and Numbers have not own colours like pre 6.1 but the colour is the same you set for the Background Picture. Nice job Samsung ...
I got the fix but I turned off Lockstar in Good Lock. The clock on the lockscreen was insisting on going dead centre lol. I always download AOD's (image and clock)from the Themes store so that's working fine for me.....they also updated NavStar AND I got rid of the bar YAY!!!!! NOW we just need to change the brightness for AOD because mine is really dim....STILL. AND I keep saying many don't have Good Lock...I have it because I have a workaround. I have this feeling this problem would disappear if they gave us the S24 AOD....seems it's tied to the lockscreen in some way.
You went a little too fast for me. At the end you say this is how to fix it. This is not fixed. I have edited in Lockstar. I clicked on the clock face with second hand. When I saved, the second hand disappeared and the clock hands chnged. The clock shown did not appear. I want analog, thin hands and a second hand. In Lockstar you CAN change the brightness. I have edited in settings/lock screen and AOD/edit lock screen. I am glad I was able to change the color in this edit. If I double click the clock on the lock screen the second hand is there and moving. The screen leaves edit mode and the clock is different. This edit mode is for widgets not the clock.

i cant change my wallpaper my lock screen is black when i try changing it its saying cant change while in power saving mode but the thing is power saving mode is off in my phone
i have changed my icon pack and when the phone goes in aod it doesnt invert colors like it does in the lockscreen. So my icons are black but their color should become white in aod for me to be able to actually see them. It doesnt. do you have a solution to this?

the fix is a backward step for me - I had the clockface just right - now AOD has some horrible font I can't change - sigh

Ok, but still the notifications are only white and there is no possibility to add a picture to the aod.
If you go to galaxy themes and download an aod from there you can set up a live aod for it tbats the only thing I got from playing around

I want to have the old version of the Always on Display. Especially that you can adjust the brightness again manually.

There is no setting option , play/ pause button disappearing, dull Brightness.
I do not understand why the AOD display settings does not have an option to show AOD only for 5 or 10 seconds after I lock screen and then disappear.. Either I need to keep it always on or I need to keep it at tap to show... Why? Just why? Every other brands like the oneplus, pixel etc. have this option. But samsung seems to be blind.
Putting brightness on manual and then turning extra brightness on helps a little on the AOD brightness.
It still reacts on daylight changes. Mainscreen doesn't then unfortunately.
No brightness slider available in lockstar.
Also not on double tap for me while being in AOD screen. Some it does.

That update you said is only available by APK download. Not official by Samsung released in the appstore here.
It did Install but no changes for brightness. Did have an extra screen for difference between AOD and lockscreen.
Really would like to see an option to set minimum brightness in AOD.
So my notification app LED Me Know indicator app is more bright. (illuminate ring around my Front cam.)
GLIMP notification app does light up the whole screen for short notification popups.
I think lockstar is about the same.
Still after the fix the Icons and Numbers have not own colours like pre 6.1 but the colour is the same you set for the Background Picture. Nice job Samsung ...
Soooo, what did we gain with 6.1, because I only sees loses.
I got the fix but I turned off Lockstar in Good Lock. The clock on the lockscreen was insisting on going dead centre lol. I always download AOD's (image and clock)from the Themes store so that's working fine for me.....they also updated NavStar AND I got rid of the bar YAY!!!!! NOW we just need to change the brightness for AOD because mine is really dim....STILL. AND I keep saying many don't have Good Lock...I have it because I have a workaround. I have this feeling this problem would disappear if they gave us the S24 AOD....seems it's tied to the lockscreen in some way.

You went a little too fast for me. At the end you say this is how to fix it. This is not fixed.
I have edited in Lockstar.
I clicked on the clock face with second hand. When I saved, the second hand disappeared and the clock hands chnged. The clock shown did not appear. I want analog, thin hands and a second hand.
In Lockstar you CAN change the brightness.
I have edited in settings/lock screen and AOD/edit lock screen.
I am glad I was able to change the color in this edit.
If I double click the clock on the lock screen the second hand is there and moving. The screen leaves edit mode and the clock is different. This edit mode is for widgets not the clock.

there is still a solution, go to the gallery and choose the picture you want to put in AOD and then click the three dots at the upper right corner of your screen and set as AOD

is it just me or do the side bezels seem to be thicker for S23 Ultra after the 6.1 update?
i cant change my wallpaper my lock screen is black when i try changing it its saying cant change while in power saving mode but the thing is power saving mode is off in my phone

i have changed my icon pack and when the phone goes in aod it doesnt invert colors like it does in the lockscreen. So my icons are black but their color should become white in aod for me to be able to actually see them. It doesnt. do you have a solution to this?
