This is so heartwarming, not only to see that some kids are being told that LGBTQ+ people exist in the world, but also that their parents want them to learn about it. Even if it’s small, it’s a step in the right direction for our future
I feel like kids growing up in school these days already have it way different. It’s ok to be gay. It’s weird to be a bully. They have other issues now. I don’t think it’s necessary for adults to try to force these things. I think kids are naturally open and accepting and it’s society that teaches them to be closed or bigoted. So yeah this is all pointless lol. ❤

This stream almost brought me to tears, as a bisexual teen boy living in the states kids saying “You’re gay” at the playground was seen as an insult. It was only with people like the Try Guys, talking to other LGBTQ people my age, and coming to terms with the fact that being bisexual was not a bad thing that I was able to embrace that part of myself. I still live in fear of what people might think of me, what they might say to me, what they might do to me but I’ve gotten better with acknowledging that the people who want to support me will do so and those who don’t can fuck off. Now I’m using my art, writing, and videos to share my story and start conversations. Thank you everyone involved with this and thank you to the LGBTQ community for letting me know that I’m not the only one. ❤
The root of the word "Gay" is "Happy or joyous" so be happy my friend! 💜 for me if you can learn the root or meaning behind words you'll find they loose their sting when people sling them at you like insults! I loved every moment of this, so special and fun to watch! I appreciate that you are doing this, I learned how to apply makeup from a drag queen when I was a teenager. She was a makeup artist and I was lucky enough to be around, while she taught my dad some new makeup techniques for his clients. My dad was a stylist and it's one of my fondest memories with my dad when I was a teen.
Wasn't able to watch live but commenting to support the cause. People really are clueless about the concepts of gender identity and expression. As living breathing proof that the sex binary is just as nonsense as the gender binary (due to an intersex condition), I wish I'd had more drag artists and gender non-conforming/transgender adults in my life so that I didn't feel so freakish and alone all throughout my childhood and adolescence. Furthermore, drag ≠ trans, though many drag artists are trans as well (and historically, there has been a lot of overlap between those communities). Drag is performance art, similar to clowns or mimes. Just because they bend or break the "rules" of gender doesn't make them automatically inappropriate for kids. It's about context. Keep up the good work, Try Guys. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Im grateful to live in a country that doesn't ban books. It's an absolute disgrace, and Americans should all stand up against this and protest the hell out of it.Thanks for doing this, Try Guys, it's just as fun for adults as it is for the kiddos. I hope you'll do this more often!
As much as you people want to scream it, we don't ban books. We ban certain content from schools and kids. There's a reason why we can't log onto Pornhub on school computers.
@@tiffanykim2773the books that were told about today were in no way inappropriate for minors, yet are banned regardless. As such, I don’t believe that mindset works in this scenario. Banning books does not protect children (they wouldn’t have books that aren’t appropriate for their age level in their library anyways - they wouldn’t have 1984 in libraries for elementary school children), but rather sets barriers up and restricts children from learning things that may impact their life in the future. It also forces kids to learn things through alternative means. If books on abusive families are banned (despite how horrifying of a topic it is), children have no means to learn how to recognize when they are being hurt. They may never find out until they end up in therapy years down the line. If you ban books on the LGBTQ+ community, it leads to children learning about it through their parents (who may or may not be accepting of the idea that their children may be queer), which means children are at risk of being given misinformation and being taught to bully other children for who they are. Banning books does not protect children - it simply obscures the reality of life and restricts their freedom to learn.
@@tiffanykim2773No, they should not be banned. Even the most reprehensible books shouldn't be banned - the context surrounding them should be taught, however. What sorts of books do you think are inappropriate? What are you doing to make sure kids have the knowledge to understand the context inside? What ages of "kids" are you talking about? Because often the books I see being banned are ones discussing the real, lived experiences of minority groups.

Those books contain dogmatic beliefs about gender that has never been proven scientifically. Therefore you are indoctrinating/grooming(same thing) children.\ I understand science is always changing and improving upon itself to be more accurate and that there have been attempts at coming up with a new theory to define gender. The names of the scientists are John Money and Alfred Kinsley. Their thesis failed and they both molested children during their experiments on gender roles.

Drag is not hurtful in anyway. It's a type of art. If you see anything as "sexual, or inuendo kinda humour" that's because it's for ADULTS in ADULT enviornments. But this drag event is specifically for kids to have fun and admire the beautiful art these queens have crafted, it's fun so shut up before you spread hate that is useless in these spaces that are meant to safe, kind and happy.
Would you be okay with children being taught how to pole dance if it was fully clothed? How about having them smoke candy cigarettes? Or drink non-alcoholic beer? Or would you see that doing these things could serve as a gateway towards normalizing behaviour that they’re too young and impressionable to be exposed to.

@@KantiKane psa: any parent who allows their child to be groomed by adults who expose them to adult activity is a horrible parent who doesn’t love their child. Drag shows are for adults. Always have been. They were created in nightclubs and were meant to be risqué. The way predators groom children is by normalizing risqué behaviour by exposing kids to a mild version of it initially. They even normalize it with the parents to get their guard down. This is not about tolerance. This is about separating adult activities from child activities.

Greetings from Germany! This is a genuine question: why are these books banned? I presume And Tango Makes Three is banned by the efforts of conservative and/or religious groups, because of the two male penguins having a child. Which is inherrently a stupid reason to ban the book. However, why was the Narwhal book banned? There doesn't seem to be any difference between that book and books like the Rainbow Fish.
I'm from Germany myself but I found a snippet on the internet: "Many are also explicit in their intent to prevent children from reading about LGBTQ people and their lives, according to an investigation by The Washington Post." American Politics is just way too conservative and full of hateful people... it makes no damn sense to ban any of those books
You've been touched haven't you. I hope you don't perpetuate the cycle. I'm sure you see lots of opportunity at DQSH to groom so I view you as a danger to society.
I'm not going to pretend that I understand the whole trans thing as a CIS male but if it makes people happy then I can't think of a reason to object to it.
Of note: drag queens are not trans women. Drag queens are just gay guys dressing up in exaggerated women's clothes and makeup specifically in order to look funny. Drag queens are mostly just comedians.
Remember that many drag performers are cis men. There are trans folks who do drag too of course, it's for anyone who finds it fun and freeing. Thank you for recognizing that you don't have to understand something to simply let it be.

Speak for yourself. I completely disagree, this lifestyle goes against Christians , Muslims, Jews and many other belief systems. The afterlife is more important than this brief life on earth as it is PERMANENT and FOREVER. I will never support my children going into this ungodly direction
@@baby.goblinWhile I do understand your point of schools being slightly more open on the topic, and agree with the fact that parents shouldn't force their children, nurture and society plays a huge role in a child's mind and values.

1: There is no reason for a drag queen to teach those things. Parents should be competent enough to do so on their own.

If the books are inappropriate for minors then yes it should be banned.
@@tiffanykim2773 explain how these books are inappropiate.

_"But you CAN'T say that drags are sexualizing kids and stuff, that it should be banned"_
They are sexualizing children. They perform at adult venues and sometimes even do sex work. Their niche little world is not something a child should be exposed to.
_"When they're with kids, they're NOT sexualizing"_
*I guess twerking on a kid is not sexualizing according to your warped mind.*

As a teacher I have both of these books. However, I had NO idea "Not Quite Narwhal" had any connotation to lgbt. Now that I know I'm going to make sure it's read EVERY year!!!!
Those books contain dogmatic beliefs about gender that has never been proven scientifically. Therefore you are indoctrinating/grooming(same thing) children.\
I understand science is always changing and improving upon itself to be more accurate and that there have been attempts at coming up with a new theory to define gender.
The names of the scientists are John Money and Alfred Kinsley. Their thesis failed and they both molested children during their experiments on gender roles.
Thank you so much Try Guys for doing this!!!

Drag shows are for adults. Always have been. They were created in nightclubs and were meant to be risqué.
I'm from Germany myself but I found a snippet on the internet: "Many are also explicit in their intent to prevent children from reading about LGBTQ people and their lives, according to an investigation by The Washington Post."
