The homes in those older neighborhoods have so much character and the doors are so beautiful.
Todays modern neighbourhoods have no character and have doors which are more of an afterthought than part of an overall deseign.

Wonderful video. Everything in all of your videos is always like taking a stroll into a calming tranquil environment . "Serene" , is the word that best describes how I feel during and after watching them. Since watching your videos , I've acquired several antique pieces of furniture and have done minor to extensive repairs on them based on methods from your tactics and skills. You and your family are much appreciated for the craft you bring into our homes through this channel . Thank you !

I started watching your channel because I like Art Deco furniture and of course most of it needs work at this time. My dad was a carpenter and actually built some of our furniture. Your passion for what you do is amazing but not as amazing as your smile when you are truly happy about what you are sharing. You bring yourself into what you do and that makes what you share so much more valued.

What a nice tour and very nice examples of your work with wood, Trena. Thinking about all of the different work you've done repairing, refinishing and restoring things made of wood and thus your deep connections with wood, the question arises, "Would Trena be Trena without wood?" Well...would she? ;)

Funny you should mention 16 layers of paint. In the early fifties, my parents bought a 150 year old colonial. My uncle, a professional painter stripped 16 layers of paint from the ha wainscoting. He was amazed! The broad board floors only had the first 4’ painted as the center was covered with oriental carpets..

Trina, absolutely fabulous work. Several years ago I searched hi and low for someone to restore our English Tudor front door. A friend who is an architect recommended a complete that restores Russian Orthodox churches. They did an amazing job. The reason no one wanted to do it was because it was a round top door. I now have the same problem with the storm door. No one wants to touch it. Wish we lived near you.

Beautiful doors, great work restoring them. I couldn't help but notice that, in the opening scene, when you were on the Boulevard it was clean. No litter or trash on the sides of the road. I remember the times I've gone to Niagara Falls and Niagara City and it was the same. I'm ashamed of how disrespectful Americans have gotten towards their country.

Oh my goodness my mouth watered through the whole video...lol...I absolutely love...no I am an architectural fanatic! Old homes have so much charm and character. So much craftsmanship and details. Not only that but they were built with old growth lumber. Wood we will never see grow that old again in our lifetime. I have seen new homes go down in a tornado and those built with old growth wood still standing. It blows my mind when someone wants to bulldoze an old home built with old growth lumber. Houses today are awful...My ex and I were in home construction business for 19 yrs...Give me a home built from old growth lumber any day. You deserve awards for your craftsmanship and work you put into the pieces you restore. You do exquisite work. By the way you were rockin those 👢...lol...God bless you in all you set your hand to.

I love watching your channel. It's both informative, and oddly therapeutic. Question: In this video you state "Exterior wood always needs attention"..... How often would you recoat a 100 year old oak door? It's on a front porch in wet Tacoma Washington but is shaded from the direct sun, and not exposed to rain... Okay... Got it.... 2-3 years for a recoat of our beautiful door. I just stripped, sanded, cleaned, repaired this and coated with 3 applications of spar varnish
