Hi Karin. Nice job. These are the type of reviews you feel you can trust. I'm almost ashamed to admit to having had then moved on from around ten cameras in the last five years. Finally to getting this one which I feel is near perfect for my needs. Just recently I upgraded to the A6700 from a Sony A6600. The difference in quality of both stills and video is huge. I kept the 6600 for a time. It is a great camera but using it after using the A6700 it felt like using 2nd best and it's gone now to a new owner.
Great vid! I ordered my A6700 and get it this coming Monday. I'm moving up from the A6600 which I still love. I bought the Tamron 17-70 2.8 before Sigma released the 18-50. I love the Tamron but it's a larger lens. I'm always contemplating selling it for the Sigma 18-50 because of the smaller size. I'm not to worried about the heating issue with the A6700 because I primarily shoot photos. I looking forward to your future videos on the A6700.
All sensors of current Fuji X and GFX cameras have rectilinear pixels. There were octagonal pixels in the Fuji superccd sensor, but that was more than 20 years ago, way before the X series. So forget about the hexagonal stuff; a Fuji sensor does not look like the inside of a beehive.
You are right. I am showing my age. LOL! I found this, which explains how the Fuji sensor is different: alenmakota.files.wordpress.com/2020/02/bayer-sensor-x-trans-sensor.jpg But the watercolour foliage is a problem for real.
Can you do a front facing vlog test (4K 60p) when active stabilization turns on using Sigma 18-50mm? I would like to see the result when stretching arms fully. Many thanks for considering my request.
Regarding the 20/2.8 you need to add sharpning in the creative settings or in post processing. That lens is solid at f2.8 IF you shoot it at iso 100 and sharpen. That said I find that the 1020/pz is a great everyday carry lens. It is wide and sharp at f4.
I bought an A6700 in November, then an X-T4 (and X-Pro2) this month. I found that Fuji cameras are my jam, but I can't bring myself to sell the A6700 because I don't think I have given it a fair shake, plus I'm an optimist and the future is beckoning. Thanks for sharing.
@@KarinNelson I wish I knew more about the A7C models before I bought it. I would have bought full frame. the A6700 doesn't push my buttons, and I'd go with Sony FF because the alternatives are ugly to me. Let's trade up!
@@nevetsnonnac3330 You do that. I won't. The A7C costs almost CAD 3500 (with tax), and then the lenses that I will want undoubtedly with it will cost AT MINIMUM $ 1000 each. I just don't have the budget (or need) for that.
@@KarinNelson I innerstand. I bought full frame Sony lenses so that I won't be stuck with crop lenses when I upgrade. They're zoom lenses, too. My issue with apsc is not quite getting the exact range of lenses, and it's always an approximation.
Thank you for the video. Have you considered Canon equipment? Now the price for Canon R8 is very good. This is full frame. And the 16, 24, 50 mm lenses for it are small fast pancakes. And they're not expensive. And thanks to the full frame, you could get your favorite bokeh. And this full frame weighs the same as the 6700. The price is almost the same, the weight is the same, the autofocus is excellent, but at the same time, unlike the Sony Canon r8, it is a full frame. Why didn't you look towards Canon?
I have not. I owned a couple of digital point and shoots that were Canon, but then I looked elsewhere. At this point, my camera budget is depleted. Maybe next time.
Hi Karin, please stop showing me such lovely quality photos and video footage, the cat photos are amazing. You’re making me want to buy a camera and I’ve never ever been interested in photography. Dee
Sorry, Dee... it's a fun hobby... but expensive. There is this saying: "Teach your kids photography. They will never have money for drugs.", and it's very true.
I didn't know that some people pronounce bokeh with a at the end. Now I've looked up where the word actually comes from. Japan! I immediately consulted my dictionary and the Japanese Wikipedia. ぼけ = bo + ke (the syllables are stressed like in German). The h is probably to help with the correct pronunciation in English?! But I also found a Boka(su), Bokashi. The su at the end of the word is not pronounced. Also means blur, color gradient. Short version: Speak as you like.
Hello i am from Peru, (Latin), i am about to buy this camera for mainly videos, i wanna start doing vlogs about food eating and gym sessions... sometimes photos too, but i am a bit worried about the overheat issue, how long can you record at 4k 24fps until it gets warm? does it get really bad? I have read that it even turns off... can you tell me your experience about that please. Greetings from Peru.
Hi to Peru! It gets warm quickly but it hasn’t overheated for me yet. But I don’t do more than 30 minutes or so at a time. If you plan to use it mainly for video, you may want to look at the FX30. Same specs, no viewfinder but an internal fan. Absolutely zero overheating. I may run a test tomorrow though. I’ll keep you posted.
Honestly it so nice to find a normal person talking about the camera and not a camera reviewer can you please do a setup guide
I'll try!
Thank You for this. I love the review and the context you use. Well done.

I think you're the best karin ever 😅, liked the way you talk normally , that was a great video!

I'm exactly in the same boat. I feel the A6700 is a fantastic tool, but... I don't like it!

I enjoyed this clip. Thanks!
Fuji 16-80 f4 specifically for travel is excellent
And when using Creative Settings if you want "Canon Colors" use the VV or the VV2 Creative Settings in the a6700.
Great video!
What a great comparison! And you are so right.. they are ugly, however they are great tools

Hello again haha, one question, what SD card did you use to record 4k 120fps? I am not sure if a v30 is enough...
No, it’s not. It will give you an error message. You need v60. I bought a Lexar, works well. If you want the exact card, I can give you a link.
@@KarinNelson yes, send the link please
@@doruaed09 This is what I bought: tinyurl.com/3k3sv9n9
