@@duchess3976 I've been doing this with just my drug store concealers and it works good! Of course you need to find which concealer works best, because some are thick others more liquidy. I started working at Sephora recently and as someone with acne-prone skin and large pores, I’ve been getting quite self-conscious when looking at the girls I work with (their skin is generally flawless and smooth compared to mine). It doesn’t help that the lighting in front of the mirrors is so harsh. This video has really inspired me to switch up the way I do my makeup since my instinct has always been to pile on product to cover imperfections… I’m excited to see the results of applying makeup in this way. Thanks for the great video!
This is how I do my makeup since I watched you. I found using a primer for the base even out my skin tone much nicer than using foundation. Then I just do spot conceal. I found that with textured skin areas, the more coverage I put on, the worse it looks in real life. The fact that flawless skin is unattainable in real life is hard to accept, but your videos really helped me coming to terms with that.
Ok I’ve discovered cushion foundation for the first time. I’ve never tried it before until a few days ago. It looks so flawless and more natural than regular foundation! And it covered my blemishes sooo well. Highly recommend trying it if you haven’t already
This is such a healthy take on makeup. It makes you wanna cover less, which is a nice change. Also calms social media induced anxiety and encourages to keep it real. I'm glad I discovered your channel as summer has come and I really want to stick to lightweight makeup and get rid of foundation during that time :)
I don’t usually leave comments, but this was just such an informative video!! Please do make more of these. (Also, thank you so much for encouraging us to love ourselves and not compare ourselves to pictures! It’s so rare to find a beauty RUclipsr who I don’t compare myself to and makes informative videos, so kudos to you!)
thank you. I've been so conscious about my acne and wanna cover them. but then i also get conscious over wearing such heavy products like foundation. with this, i can cover my acne with only a little amount of product. it really boosted my self-esteem
all i can say is...thank u thank u thank u so so much. this entire time i've been struggling with finding a foundation that could cover my spots well enough but no matter what it would ALWAYS cake. now i don't have to worry about that anymore !!!!!
When I spot conceal I like to use two *slightly* different shades of concealer for different areas of my face, since the center of your face will naturally be warmer in tone than the edges. Normally when you use foundation, you split the difference and put the same color everywhere to unify your skin tone. I like to use a cool toned concealer near my jaw, and a cool-pink concealer around my nose and chin; If I use the same concealer everywhere it always ends up too cool in the center or too warm on my jaw
So I finally got a chance to go out yesterday with the fam and I followed your instructions. My fam complimented me and thought I was wearing full coverage make up when I only cover my blemishes. THANK YOUUUU
u're one of the big reason why accepting my flaws became easier. u always remind me that there's no such thing as perfect skin and it comforted me to not put pressure on myself and just accept it and be happy with it: ))) i love youuuu haley!!!
Hi! I'm from Brazil. I've always hated covering my face with foundation, it gets sticky and transfers everywhere. I have oily and acne-prone skin and I always found that using the foundation made the situation worse, so I stopped using makeup which improved 90% of the problem, but I like to put on makeup and find its content on RUclips has been inspiring , as I still have acne that causes blemishes on my face and I like to look as natural as possible when I do my makeup. Knowing that I can have the skin the way I like it, regardless of patterns and feeling beautiful is one of the best sensations. So thank you!
I feel so enlightened. I threw away my old foundation cuz I don't really used it much and I'm not the fan of the feeling on my skin. Thanks for this great vid!
Ive never been a fan of make-up bcs I dont like using foundation as I tend to feel very uncomfortable and it does not make my skin look natural but then I came across your channel and it has helps me a lot. This video really really helps me a lot since I just started using concealer and get myself started in make-up. Thank you Haley!
I want to start makeup but i am so frightened of the whole process. I had tried buying two foundations a few months ago and, despite it looking so great on youtubers and commenters , looked yellow and cakey on me. The waste of money and disappointment really ruined my confidence in makeup.
Omgggg her work they way she scientifically she explains 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 in this way no one needs a beauty camera to blur their skin small amount of makeup will be enough it’s like no makeup makeup look
Full beat is fun but when someone mention daily/natural makeup, this is exactly what i expect. Enhancing our features just the way it is. Its a very informative video! Thanks
I am using this technique on my never ending pimples after watching this video and it actually helped me. I have already given up on foundation after watching her videos and tbh my makeup comes out the same either ways with or without foundation.

I'm turning 40 next year and this is EXACTLY the method my aging skin needed. Full face cake foundation ages me dramatically... this targeted approach is natural and perfect looking.
I hate where makeup has gone. Like Literally it’s in the name. Concealer is to conceal. Thank you for this video, 75% of my Sephora clients who come in wanting full coverage do not even need light coverage and would be fine with just a concealer
Thank you SO MUCH for validating that not covering the entire face with product/foundation is alright. I always disliked doing full make up and seeing this option in a video really made my day. I'm so glad I found your channel!!
God, seriously its so amazing to see the result with so much less product! I wish i could learn this technic. Could u please please please, make a video about dealing with oily skin? Mine is so oily that i dont have any dry spot at all in my face. Like, foundie for oily skin will last only less than 2 hours before my oil burst out n make my make up horrible😭😭
Love this technique. You dont need to use foundation bc they can be patchy and cakey. Just covering what you want to is enough! I used to be really pessimistic of my makeup skill because after applying foundation and such my skin still looks bad, meanwhile the beauty gurus skin are flawless . But after finding this channel, I'm more confident with my natural skin texture and starts to think that a little bit of texture actually looks better than thickly padded foundation.
you’re like the big sister i wish i had growing up!! i hated all those years of just slathering my face in foundation to cover my acne but no one gave me any other advice. this is so helpful thank you!!! ☺️

That has been my routine since I was 16. However, I use a make-up sponge, and I don't mean the beauty blender. Gives me really great looking natural skin. BTW: i think it's okay to have some blemishes shine thru. It looks way more natural. Cuz let's be honest, nobody except for babies has flawless skin.
I'm already applied this method for my skin acnes since one year ago and this is very helpful I can save the amount usage of products, and my skin looks more healthy and glowy in natural beauty😊❤
I really feel this is a must-watch video for anyone who wants to cover their blemishes or dark spots! I see so many makeup tutorials on Instagram where people pile on thick foundation, concealer, and then powder all over the face from the hairline all the way down to the neck to cover acne or discoloration and I know how uncomfortable and unnatural that feels on the skin. I also feel it has a psychological effect of making people with blemishes feel like they’re putting on and taking off their mask every day, and covers up so much of their natural beauty that sometimes they don’t feel beautiful without the mask on. What I really loved about this tutorial was that you emphasized using a tiny brush and tiny amount of color-matched product in very thin layers...the finished result was really fresh and lovely. I want to share this with everyone I know who wears makeup!
Wooow finally someone chose persons having real acne scars n made them disappear unlike other clickbait videos, am impressed! I like the way you explain things n how you said 100% clear skin is unattainable, so true..! Thanks for this video:)
Since I found you I started to use less and less foundation. There was a point when my skin was incredibly bad bc I'm also allergic and have a very sensitive skin. Now I just cover up even my skin is not the best but I feel much better and free. It's a whole process..not gonna lie sometimes I still use foundation for some situations cuz I'm insecure but not anymore in my everyday and that's awesome. Thank you Haley 🧡🧡💫
I really love your content! Thank you so much for normalizing "human skin" and for letting us be reminded that we are all beautiful despite our flaws. Love lots 🌻💛

@@indigo_dreamz I use Innisfree no sebum blur primer in the summer and Innisfree mineral makeup base in the color peach at other times of the year.
Ok I’ve discovered cushion foundation for the first time. I’ve never tried it before until a few days ago. It looks so flawless and more natural than regular foundation! And it covered my blemishes sooo well. Highly recommend trying it if you haven’t already
Whihc one did u use?
Which brand did you use????
So happy you actually SPOT concealed, with natural skin shining through.
Carat spotted!! :))
I hope you make the "how to cover dark circle area" version in the future. I love the way you present this video ❤️
Thanks
The models looked beautiful before and after, but that technique urghh thank you so much Haley
This is so incredible. I LOVE how you use different models with texture and actual skin. Thank you Haley!
Omg 😮 This is the first time I saw someone use clay to demonstrate with different skin conditions and thats so effin clever I love it
I am using this technique on my never ending pimples after watching this video and it actually helped me. I have already given up on foundation after watching her videos and tbh my makeup comes out the same either ways with or without foundation.
Thank you! I hate that most makeup tutorial videos show people using tons of product making thick layers. I prefer a more natural look, like you've shown. Great job!!
I really need this. Im not like foundation because it's really thick on my face
Hope it helped!
You should also try skin tint!
@@awesomedeloris may i know what is skin tint? Is it in liquid form or solid?
@@harihdan in my country, i know a brand that sell tinted moisturizer so basically moisturizer but it has shade/color. so maybe that's what they meant by skin tint?
@@harihdan usually, skin tints are in a liquid form...but there are also such things as tinted moisturizers and sunscreens so
I just tried this and it really worked on my acne scars and pores. This video is a literal lifesaver
This is exactly what I've been searching for. I refuse to cover my entire face in makeup, just because I have a couple of acne patches. Thank you!
This is exactly what I needed since I don’t wanna apply tons of makeup to give just enough coverage to some of my spots! I tried it today and it worked out miraculously well! I was thinking I might mess it up but it was super easy and covered the exact spots I wanted to cover. Thank you so much, this is super helpful for a beginner like me 🥰🖤
THIS is the video which I needed in my life. I don't use foundation as a daily wear and I only use concealer to achieve the look but I was struggling to find the right technique which will help me to use the right amount of product and not too much of the product and Haley! Thank you so much for this! Love you gurl and you're rocking the haircut!💜
please make more of THESE videos for different types of skin! normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, with acne, without acne, hyper-pigmentation, with wrinkles, etc
Omg i just cut my hair short this morning, and i am really happy to see you also with short hair! It looks really good on you!
appreciate the reality check at the beginning. i feel like i would've really appreciated hearing something like that when i was still a teenager
Your technique is so simple but the final look turns out so natural. Definitely my skin looks better✨ Cant wait to try it! Thank you for sharing this Haley 🥰
Yay! Thank you!
I'm turning 40 next year and this is EXACTLY the method my aging skin needed. Full face cake foundation ages me dramatically... this targeted approach is natural and perfect looking.
I hate where makeup has gone. Like
Literally it’s in the name.
Haley, thank you for always keeping it real! I especially appreciated that you stated right in the beginning that the goal is to get 75-80% coverage.
I love how you used models with acne!!! Shows your skills and that your technique works!
But after finding this channel, I'm more confident with my natural skin texture and starts to think that a little bit of texture actually looks better than thickly padded foundation.
thank you so much, haley !! you just made me love my skin a lot more ♡
Aww I am so glad to hear! Thank you
you’re like the big sister i wish i had growing up!! i hated all those years of just slathering my face in foundation to cover my acne but no one gave me any other advice. this is so helpful thank you!!! ☺️
This video is literally perfect because im going back to school next month, thank you so much 🙌 You're one of the only natural and real beauty channels ❤
Aww I am so glad to hear! Thank you
You all are beautifull in whatever skin condition you are suffering or suffered.Even I have pimples but I don't apply makeup bz alhumdullah I have confidence to show people that acne prone skin is normal .It's okay .Noone can have flawless skin.I always try to make my skin happy and always give time to heal .Everything will be fine ameen. Love you all 😍😘😘😙❤💖❤💖❤💖💋💕💕💕💕❤❤💜💜💜💜💜
Love you Haley. Now I'm feeling more comfortable with my skin ❤
This is the most informative video about covering the blemishes I have ever seen! Thank you, Haley!
Wooow finally someone chose persons having real acne scars n made them disappear unlike other clickbait videos, am impressed! I like the way you explain things n how you said 100% clear skin is unattainable, so true..! Thanks for this video:)
Your hairstyle is so pretty!!!
hehe thank you Eillot!
YOU'RE A GEM, HALEY !!!
Aww so you are !
*I love how you explained using that clay thing*
It was really helpful
I really love your content! Thank you so much for normalizing "human skin" and for letting us be reminded that we are all beautiful despite our flaws. Love lots 🌻💛
Her hair looks so good in this video omg the beauty.
Wow. The amount of thought, expertise, and research that’s went into this. Thank u so much !!!
Omg finally a realistic makeup with no filters than show us that texture is always here so we don't over do our makeup 😭
I have this redness (6:00) on my skin as well. I'm so happy to see this here. Thankyou. 😊
I love the completely, natural, less is more approach. I’ve seen this with colour correcting colours too. But very minimal as opposed to how so many use correction colours. Thanks for sharing. Loved it.
your skin is so healthy, and you're so pretty! goals
Really love and appreciate that you worked with two beautiful models who can clearly represent those of us with textured skin. Such a great video, thank you Haley! ♥️✨
aww thankyou ..
lately i've been hard on myself cuz my insecurity
and this video heal me pretty well, and realize again that every skin is beauty ..
Haley's really prettyy 😭😭😭❤❤❤ thank you for this videoooo 🤗🤗🤗
You're so welcome! Hope it was helpful hehe
I really love that you emphasize on telling people that there is no perfectly flawless skin in real life. Nowadays we are bombarded by poreless flawless celebs skin that indirectly made us feel as if we are not taking good care of ourselves.
Celebs skin has so many applications,, one of it derma every month..
been waiting for this. Aww team acne prone skin relates
Hope it was helpful!
@@HaleyKimaking hello eunie❤ may i ask what's the best drugstore concealer i may use for this?
As a person who wants to get into makeup, even though I don’t like wearing it, I find this interesting. I kind of hate heavy or lots of makeup on my face. For me, having so much makeup, that it might mess up my skin. So when I find these videos, they make me happy 😌
Thank you for being realistic, and honest.
You're Hyram of the make up world👑
This video was life changing, plus the color correcting one and the no foundation one. I learned soooo much and my makeup looks completely different. Thank you so much for creating these videos.
So that’s how a concealer is used! I always doubt the power of concealer, all because I didnt know how to use it properly!
She keeps it natural and this is why I love her videos
this is what we needed omg thank you sooo much haley!!
I'm so glad!
I don’t like makeup because everyone who triee to put make up on me just applies a lot of products, like it’s the only way to do it, and I know in my experience that my skin reacts so bad. I clean my skin well but I will definitely break out after. So now I don’t put make up but then I will always worry about the imperfection. This is a good demonstration of how to do it simply. I’ll always admire those who can apply and wear beautiful makeup, but I think this is what will be good for my skin. Thank you
My only problem is : I cant find the right shade
My concealer looks cakey no matter how little I apply. But at least it covers some of the redness.
I love your new haircut with the fringe and short hair. I wish I had the hair/face shape for a fringe. But I also know it would just get greasy too quickly. 🥲
thank you haley for always making such good quality videos! im so happy I found your channel, I love that fact that you talk about embracing your "imperfections"
by the way you are so *beautiful* >.<
you are making me tempted to cut my hair lol
You're so welcome! Thank you Emily
I'm currently really dependent on drugs and ur extremely easy video made make up FINALLY accessible, even to a bum like me. The little ripples you make feel like waves in my waters
