Loved this game so much when I was about 6. My grandma bought me a gbc and bought this game and tony hawk pro skater with it. Just hearing the music after you selected your characters and names brought back all those good memories of not making it very far at all into the game :)
Scrolling through in the name of nostalgia, as soon as a match would come up i could literally feel my fingers move on the buttons and my neurons plan my next move... more than a decade after the last time i ever saw my teal gameboy...
I still feel like they should have added more single player content to the n64 version. I was so disappointed in that after playing the gbc Mario tennis.
This was such a classic game. The thought of the ancient memories playing this came to me yesterday when I was lookin at a mountain with clay looking like feature and this game came to mind reminding me about the clay courts :FeelsGudMan:
and yes, but the only bad thing about in this game, mario is not a playable character in this game and to play it with mario you need to unlock him, in the story mode of mario tour by singles
Oh my goodness, the memories! I got this game as a kid and logged so many hours. Liked the story mode, never was able to get past the tournaments though and eventually gave up on it, LOL. I think I still have it somewhere...
The music in this game was such a vibe! I’m 29 and I played this so long ago abs I recently started listening to Fox Capture Plan and other Progressive jazz music lately that it sparked the memories of this game and it’s layout and it’s music! As well as how at peace I was. I jus couldn’t remember which tennis game it was that I played when it sparked the memory! Like “ahh which game was that?! It was so zen and so fun!” This is so great to see the full game play! I miss it
So did anyone else get banned from using these characters in the N64 version because once you reach a certain point, they're far better than any of the default or even unlockable cast? Transfer Pak was ahead of its time, man.
Perhaps my first ever RPG experience. So nostalgic, at the point of, to be honest, I really didn’t enjoy the tennis gameplay as well but the RPG... man it was so addictive
To be fair, thats what made it work for me. The character challenges were good (apart from Bowsers last challenge, which is a nightmare) but the story mode really was so good. Spent absolute hours on it as a kid.
More the latter. Camelot handled both the console and portable games, but it seems more like they wanted to make the portable games their own thing to stand out. I think they did a good job with that, but you could tell Camelot wanted to make their own game instead of being forced to work with Mario, or at the very least make more human characters in the Mario universe.
4:21:06 the owner of Nintendo says that you have an invitation from Mario himself to play tennis against him and the player says "NO". THE DISRESPECT LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Does anybody know if there is a specific technique to making it go to the far right or far left like he does in the second round of the Tournament thing? Cause I press left or right respectively on the Dpad while hitting the ball and it almost never goes straight. I have serious trouble beating this guy after Sammi. Also, would anyone know how to curve it or lob it like that guy does?
I really like this game, Mario tennis rpg? You can play as a non Mario character and be a better one than the Mario characters also the sequel as well. There some unlockables but I do not got the transfer pak.
lol i didnt know how to read when i played this so when i entered the story mode i would be all confused and trying to exit out to eventually select quick tournaments lol
One my favorite tennis games ever. Mario Tennis is simply great!
I agreed with you then, and I agree with you now!
me too i really love this game, and i made a cheat in a game boy emulator to play as mario
Very impressive as well. I mean how amazing does this look for an 8-bit handheld? That's just crazy in my opinion.
its now on the switch with all unlocked characters but you must unlock them yourself.
same goes with mario golf (2 versions)

So much nostalgia. I put so many hours into this game.
How about pokemon?
Ah perfect, a 4 hour video of Mario Tennis, this is what I needed this saturday morning..brb
I used to play this game alll the time when I was younger bringing back memories :)
6-7 years old... had this, a black and white TMNT game, and Pokemon Silver.
u were living like a king then
Dude I had the same games
The memories
God that takes me back...when I was younger, I used to play the sh*t out of this. Still love the game and occasionally play it.
They really should remake this game, or give it an actual sequel. Loved the story mode and RPG elements in this game
+TheCodedtestament don't think that'll happen- we have to just enjoy the LP on this masterpiece of a surprise RPG
Mario Tennis Power Tour is the sequel to this game, Plus they bring back charaters from this Like Harry Kate and Ale but Nina isn't in it sadly.
Ton Ton She does appear. If you passed expert on tennis machine traning. you get a cutscenes with Alex and Nina
it happened
This is still the best sadly :( power tour doesn't come close, especially the music. Feels sloppy compared to this one
Always loved the scenes in the credits. Makes me feel like I actually took part in a little tennis adventure.
Scrolling through in the name of nostalgia, as soon as a match would come up i could literally feel my fingers move on the buttons and my neurons plan my next move... more than a decade after the last time i ever saw my teal gameboy...
I sold my gameboy in a garage sale, I'm so depressed I did that
I LOVED THIS GAME GROWING UP, TAKES ME BACK
This is such an ambitious game for a GBC adaptation of Mario Tennis
Yup. It's amazing what they could do with these 8 bit handhelds.
I also think it was best that the developers made it it own separate game instead of just trying to port the n64 version onto the gameboy
This GBC game is now on Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.
I’m playing it on an actually gbc , authentic feels better 👍🏼
A sports open world RPG actually sounds like a fun idea for today.
Best tennis game of all time.
The VIBE and soundtrack of this game. I've missed it so much.
Mario Golf and Mario Tennis, two of Camelot's early RPGs before they would go on to make Golden Sun.
The game point sounds almost like golden sun battle theme. It’s really amazing for the GBC quality
I still feel like they should have added more single player content to the n64 version. I was so disappointed in that after playing the gbc Mario tennis.

Lol this brings back so many memories. I remember always stealing my sisters gameboy and playing this game all the time.
Me to my big brother and me are stealing each other the game boy
"goo-goo ga-ga spaghetti" -Baby Mario, 2001.
I remember power and control was a deadly combo haha
Just add speed and thats all you need.
+Final Poop Speed is minor for a skilled player
Goody908 LOL
Oh my goodness, the memories! I got this game as a kid and logged so many hours. Liked the story mode, never was able to get past the tournaments though and eventually gave up on it, LOL. I think I still have it somewhere...
nostalgia
I remember playing this game on my game boy colour and late at night in 2001 as a 12 year old kid so many great memories from my childhood
The music in this game was such a vibe! I’m 29 and I played this so long ago abs I recently started listening to Fox Capture Plan and other Progressive jazz music lately that it sparked the memories of this game and it’s layout and it’s music! 2:58:00 Oh look, its my video game waifu, Sammi.
(Yes, I'm the guy who makes all the Sammi drawings in the Mario Tennis GBC Miiverse community...)
Duskus Catball lol x2
Miiverse closed :(
@@thebigmexicano7607 F
The music sounds like Golden Sun since they were made by the same company!
Ahh... Mario Tennis! Brings back childhood memories!
Im glad that even as a late 90s baby i got to play this, super mario 6 golden coins and wario land on my clear purple gameboy color. Good times :')
These games are all on Nintendo Switch Online now! NSO Gameboy App 😊
I never felt so trolled all in my life thinking this was a Mario Game when I was 6 years old.
I remember being about 6 years old on the plane to California and I played this shit non stop
I played this before I was familiar with Motoi Sakuraba. Looking back at it, it has his music style all over it even in chiptune.
Jugué esto a los 9 años y aún recuerdo cada dialogo y tema :'3
This game needs a remastered sequel!
Was obsessed with this game and it’s sequel as a kid
God I miss the early 2000s 😔
I loved this game as a kid, idk why it was so addicting lol
It's a good game, but the matches go on for way too long. Thankfully they shortened it in the sequel.
So did anyone else get banned from using these characters in the N64 version because once you reach a certain point, they're far better than any of the default or even unlockable cast? Transfer Pak was ahead of its time, man.
I'd give anything for a remake of this in Switch graphics
I think the pixelated look makes it iconic lol
2:47:20
The Island Open Tournament begins!
this brings back so many childhood memories
Perhaps my first ever RPG experience. So nostalgic, at the point of, to be honest, I really didn’t enjoy the tennis gameplay as well but the RPG... man it was so addictive
Why is this called Mario Tennis if Mario isn't in most of the game.
Un juego chingon si que si.

What a game this is a total classic
music so catchy!
Dude, this game was my gameboy childhood, including Donkey Kong Country on the GB as well. ;)
@@Ziffypoo yooooo me too exact same
bro you single handed my made my unlock a core memory for me
the rpg feel of this game was awesome
i remember that when i was young i never clear senior class because clay court have fast ball move and less bounce
I found a typo 10:25
You won a fantastic Marvel No-Prize!
Aahhh those memories.I remember playing this when I was 8years old.
Poor Harry getting left in the dust
So is this Mario Tennis, or Game Boy Tennis Featuring Mario?
To be fair, thats what made it work for me. The character challenges were good (apart from Bowsers last challenge, which is a nightmare) but the story mode really was so good. Spent absolute hours on it as a kid.

Mario wishes he didnt except. He got owned 😂
I played this so much as a young teen.
Wow I don't think you gave up a single point. Impressive
savestates
lecorbak
What?
UnlimitedProdiction1 lecorbak it didnt look like he used any. it might have been done very cleanly but either way this whole playthrough is excellent!

silverstorm323 You really need to beef up your Spin and Control for that.
Cool opening cut scene.
This is one of those rare occasions where the game boy game was better than the console game.
How do you basically unlock Mario impeach the easy way on the Nintendo switch?
You still need to beat the doubles tournament.
Jeez, how do you not get RSI after playing this for over 4 hours?
How do you hit the ball at such an angle like that?
Old good times, the Spike's dropshots was epic, a GBC jewel
Can you make another longplay of this, but in doubles or with Nina?
Excuse me Longplays, when do you plan on making next? May I suggest Mario Golf Advance Tour or Mario Tennis Power Tour?
Holy fucking shit, Camelot is goated. This is amazing what they have done on a GBA.
i need this on my switch so badly. this game is amazing.
The sequel was amazing too
Thanks for this! finally finished watching it :) think I'll now grab and emulator and play it myself haha
My childhood ❤
i remember having to "connect" this sucker to the the n64 for unlocking other characters on the n64 game..or was it vice versa? :\
yeah..stupid new technologies..-_-
Mario golf was the other game, unlock 4 characters from gbc version
FortunaChan oh yeah and that one,i forgot about it!
Spent a lot of time time on this game. Never beat it, but GODDAMN was it fun. Good times 💪 lol
WHERE DID MY GAMEBOY GO? I WANT TO PLAY IT AGAIN :(
No need to get N64 characters, I just want my childhood back. Thank you for the information!
Why are you so against just getting an actual game boy color, they are really inexpensive, so is the game as well.
where is mario ?
He is at the end, final boss, the greatest player ever :D.
I love game point's song !
This is such a hard game, and I’m currently playing this
Why not just combine this and Mario Golf into one game?
4:22:35 waluigi in the bottom left
Does this game support the game link cable?
That ost though
This Game has 2 endings?
Music is a banger!.
Just got this and I am happy!
Where did you buy it? Amazon?
2:59:57 out of this world rally right there
como se guarda la partida?
En un emulador se puede guardar la partida o el progreso del juego.
so much nostalgia
The nostalgia
My God!!! My childhood
I really like this game, Mario tennis rpg? You can play as a non Mario character and be a better one than the Mario characters also the sequel as well. There some unlockables but I do not got the transfer pak.
story mode is longer
The campaign for this was incredible
Singles only huh? Do you have one for doubles? (Alex and Harry of course.)
lol i didnt know how to read when i played this so when i entered the story mode i would be all confused and trying to exit out to eventually select quick tournaments lol
SAMEE
There is something wrong with my Mario tennis😕
I am holding Mario Tennis in my hand while commenting this.
Vania Sports Special Day (2012 PSP)
