    So adorable to watch Poppy and Hamish groom each other. My 2 cats, ages 16 and 6, do that, too. Seeing Poppy gaze at Dexter on screen is adorable, as is her interest in the horses. Hamish is a real champ on those stairs. And Pete, I don't even like to parallel park, so I am most impressed with how you so precisely moored the boat. Be well and hug some pups for me. Leigh

    • @onedaymoreaboard
      @onedaymoreaboard  7 месяцев назад +1

      That’s lovely to hear your cats do that too Leigh. Sometimes Poppy grrrrs at him for taking her spot on the sofa next to her Dad, but then is happy for him to groom her! Hamish is still living his best life, just a little slower now and he’s still good on steps as long as they are not too deep. You’re with the majority of Americans we have met that will never willingly parallel park! It’s funny that it’s the first thing you do on your Texas driving test, yet I think n there was only one spot where I ever had to parallel park in our time there! 😂

    I couldn't believe those huge sandwiches at the Gongoozler cafe! Poppy and Hamish looked very interested in tucking in as well, and who could blame them. That's so nice you have the backpack to carry Hamish whe he needs a break, and kudos for picking up after your dogs. But what I wonder is if the folks with the small ponies were doing the same? Anyway, lovely vlog and such pretty music. Well done!

      Thank you so much! Those sandwiches are rather huge aren’t they! Good job we walked off some of the calories. The doggie backpack has been such a good thing for Hamish, so we can still enjoy our adventures together. Now you mention it, I wonder if they do pick up after the ponies on the towpath? Hmmm 🤔

    Thank you for the trip down memory lane (?canal). Your route was the very first Narrowboat cruise we took 11 years ago on a hireboat when we fell in love with the life. We had the additional bonus that time of having a gongoozler accompany us uninvited through the Bronson locks then join us at the Admiral Nelson for lunch ! You captured the charm of Norton Junction cottages well. 💜

    Thanks for another lovely vlog! I love that in the UK you can take your dogs to the pubs. As always Poppy is such a boisterous happy dog! Hamish looks like he was doing well on his walk but I’m so glad Pete can give him a ride when he’s tired. Your food videos make me hungry; those sandwiches were huge! 😂

    • @onedaymoreaboard
      @onedaymoreaboard  7 месяцев назад +1

      You’re so welcome! We have found the UK to be so dog friendly Nancy, and there are very few pubs that don’t allow dogs. So many people have dog bowls of water and even jars of treats on their doorsteps too! The doggie backpack has been the perfect solution for giving Hamish’s a break from walking when he needs it. You’re right, those breakfast sandwiches were huge!! And we didn’t need much else that day! 😂😊

This was nearly 40 years ago…we had lots of adventures on the way.Nothing like the canal traffic nowadays. We only sold our last boat 3 years ago after mostly cruising the rivers and middle level waterways.Much quieter.

Every time we go through Braunston (which seems to be quite a lot as it’s canal central!) we never quite know where we will end up mooring as it’s usually so busy.
