Band-Maid is an extremely talented band who plays many styles of music! "FREEDOM LIVE" is the song you should do next for a great drum solo. These young ladies have over 100 songs on RUclips and are considered by many the best hard rock band in the world. New Subscriber / Great reaction =)
She does more impressive stuff on the drums in no god and blackhole. And there’s been a million freedom reactions lately. But other than the solo, freedom is kind of a straight forward simple song.
@@joshi_new_wave I don't think he has heard freedom and your right i have heard all these songs hundred hundreds of times because i have the CD's For some reason " Brand New Maid " doesn't have a drum solo on "Freedom" which made me sad =( I will request "Blackhole" and "No God" to The Drum Guy next . Thanks and Rock On
@@barrycounts490 Yea no worries man :). And I’ve heard all these songs a ton too but I feel like lately there’s been a ton of Domination and Freedom reactions. Especially first times. Maybe I’m the only one that gets bored of those though lol. And you can request what ever you want :) .
There are many drum cams of Akane, but you would have to join their "Band Maid Prime" site. For an extended drum solo try the video "Freedom" on their RUclips page
One of their songs that, I feel, really showcases Akane's technical prowess is "Dice". Also, literally any song from their new album, "Unseen World". finally, many people are going to suggest the official live video of "Freedom". It has a great extended drum section.
Should probably mention that he should do the live version of "Dice". The music video really doesn't hold up to it. But I agree, Dice is pretty complex drum-wise while "Freedom" is really overrated as far as showcasing Akane's talent is concerned. Sure, it does have that long drum solo, but if you want drum complexity in the song, Freedom would not be my first choice.
Unseen World is the the most overrated Band Maid album. It has some good songs but the H-G-K, Black Hole and and No God are extreemly overrated. They miss the hook that Band Maid masterfully puts into their songs
@@claytoncourtney1309 I get what you are saying, but many of us wanted to see them push the envelope and lean into their obvious progressive influences. That's what we got with Unseen World. I personally don't lament the loss of their classic rock style, but I see how many people do.
I read some comments down here suggesting Band-Maid - Freedom LIVE because of the solo performance of Akane Hirose. There was a drum cam recording of the drummer but was taken down from Band-Maid official channel. The reason is unknown to me, but someone re-uploaded the video on RUclips. Link: ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html In the video you see Akane Hirose playing a cover of Maximum the Hormone - Benjo Sandal Dance. And if you notice Akane Hirose having a different maid outfit, then you are correct. The recording took place around the first year as Band-Maid, therefore the outfits were slightly different. As they got popular (Thanks to their song Thrill and later on Real Existence) Band-Maid's outfits change so now and then.
Welcome aboard, Drum Guy. You are embarking on (along with many others - 130 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (118 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World” and new single drops), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, H-G-K, Black Hole, Sense, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 30 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 30 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 29 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. This footage is from their Line Cube Shibuya show. The Freedom live official video from this show includes a 40 second electrifying drum solo - everyone loves it. But this show also opens with two tracks - Rinne and Blooming - an absolute masterclass in drumming. Google the name of the show and look under videos to find it. She hits 220bpm on their last album on a track called Black Hole. Quick feet and hands...very skilled.
Akane was inspired by Nao of Maximum the Hormone. Here is a link to a drum video of her playing Benjo Sandal Dance by MTH. ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html You said you were expecting faster, check out Manners/BLACK HOLE (live), in the second song she blasts away at 220bpm. For double kick fun check out "Rinne".
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid, Akane Hirose the drummer is a world class drummer for sure. You will understand what she is capable of as you continue you journey into the pigeon hole of Band-Maid. You may listen to an instrumental "Onset", Akane plays very cool stuff. The song Black Hole from their lates album Unseen World runs at 220 BPM, check it out, they have a video of the songs Manners and Black Hole, you get a two in one.
I don't think Akane has any drum cams available on RUclips, but here are three outstanding drummers that have lots of drum videos on RUclips: Yoyoka, Junna, and Senri Kawaguchi.
Welcome to Band-Maid and especially for you as an drummer, let me introduce you Akane Hirose. IMO one of the most precise, perfectly timed, unique and creative drummers today. Her nickname is GORILLA and she loves this nickname. She loves to eat bananas and has so much energy and power so this nickname suits her! If you really want a drumsolo you have to checkout "Freedom live" on their channel, its going to be an treat for you, trust me! Greetings from Germany and have fun discovering this awesome band! Nice first reaction...
Nice reaction! Akane is super accurate on her timing. I love this song, though I really, really wish that guitar solo right after the drums went on for another 20-30 seconds. You should watch their song "Freedom" Live as it has a great drum solo.
It's probably safest and most broadly correct to call Band Maid a hard rock band, but they shift their sound around according to their mood a lot. They have a lovely 70's old school bluesy rock sound sometimes, they absolutely can flip the switch into straight up metal whenever they feel like it, many songs have a punk element. Many songs are very accessible feel good rock, but then they have some very frantic, technical/progressive stuff. There's a really nice variety to keep things interesting so long as you're flexible about styles you can enjoy. In terms of sharp contrasting, I'd recommend the live 2 song combo of Manners/Black Hole (live), I believe they were played back to back in concert and people generally react to them together precisely because of the contrast.
Nice reaction Drum Guy. You will never be disappointed. Drummer Akane is the fill-meister. You will be impressed at everything she does. She is very unique and creative and powerful and never stops smiling. Actually the entire band is creative and unique and powerful. No egos in this band. All members are featured players. Since you're a drummer I'll suggest "FREEDOM-LIVE" for Akane's extended drum solo. Anyway, I know you'll enjoy this journey down the pigeon hole because BAND-MAID is Awesome. Peace.
All these ladies have mega talent. Lead / composer Kanami is probably a genius. Akane, the drummer, is something special. Apart from eating as much as three people her technique is apparently faultless, but would know better than I. All in a very special band full of mega musicians.
Great first reaction! There aren't any drum cams officially available. The drum solo in Freedom is the closest you get to an Akane focused camera with good production. That said, there are some fan cams on RUclips. I think the one with the best shot of Akane is "Hamburg 2019-06-26 21.51.05 BAND-MAID 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗠𝗘 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗘𝗥-𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠-𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗨𝗠" by Vladimir Chupin. 3 songs, around 14 minutes. You get to see a lot of double pedal action in the last song, Moratorium.
I don't think anyone has suggested "Freedom"(live) yet but it does have a longer drum solo from Akane. :). But to be honest, I'd recommend "Onset" (live) because of her drum work throughout the song. Or Blooming. Or Different. Or Warning. Or... yeah, well most songs from them.
Imho the best hard rock band around and probably for the last 30-40 years or so. Excellent musicians, song writers and performers. They put on one hell of a show! Nice reaction!
"Domination" is a great place to start. They do faster: their speed demon is "Black Hole" (watch it with "Manners" as a double feature). Also "Rinne" (music video, not live). Also recommend "Blooming" -- the drums are great here too. Of course, there is everyone's favourite drum solo: "Freedom". Watch 'em all. They don't publish rubbish. It's all good. Oh, and "Onset" (instrumental -- every musician gets a moment in the spotlight). Oh again, "Play" -- instrumental with a voice part added. This is a band that believes in technical ability, not ego: they aim to serve their fans the best music they can. And they do.
Ah, yes, the outfits. To make a short story long, Miku (rhythm guitar/backing vocals/lyricist) had worked in maid cafes and thought that a band dressed in outfits associated with sexy submissiveness playing hard, in-your-face rock would be a great hook. Kanami (lead guitar/songwriter/principal arranger) loved the idea, largely because she has no fashion sense and this way she never had to worry about what to wear on stage. Akane (drummer) thought the idea was dumb but fun, but didn't like how the costume restricted her movement. MISA (bass) hated the costumes, and almost didn't join because of them. After MISA's reaction, Miku only told Saiki (lead vocals) that they would wear 'cute costumes ' when performing. Saiki was horrified when she saw them, not because they were maid uniforms, but because they were boring and dowdy (Saiki is quite the fashionista). Eventually, things came to a head, and Akane (the leader the band doesn't have) decreed that everyone could design their own outfits, as long as they stuck to the maid theme. Kanami kept the traditional maid outfit. Miku started heading into cosplay maid territory, like she owned stock in the ruffle-and-flounce factory. Akane initially ditched the apron, shortened the skirt, and ripped out the shoulder seams of the blouse. Later, Miku helped her make a black and white jumper that suggests a maid uniform while leaving her limbs totally free. Saiki took a head housekeeper 's uniform, sexed it up, and emerged looking like a sexy dominatrix head maid. And MISA showed up in a black dress, claiming it was a Croatian maid uniform. Or maybe Lithuanian. She finally went with Ninja maid uniform, because 'you'll never see her cleaning. '
MISA's new latest outfit is based on a Chinese Cheongsam style dress (also known as a Qipao) that was popular in the early 20th century, and was worn by both socialites (in fancy versions) and domestics (plain version).
The Croatian thing came about as a result of RUclips's auto-generated caption translation in an interview. They were saying 'assassin maid' and YT translated it as 'Croatian maid' because the words sound similar in Japanese. As was stated earlier it's a Chinese-inspired maid outfit.
That double bass was just half as fast as this drummer can go ! Check the official video RINNE. She goes full blast on her double bass there. , not sure what RPM though if that’s your thing. This band is absolutely amazing when it comes to the complexity in genres they pull from in their songs. The drummer Akane Hirose also plays other instruments and is a dj in Japan she goes by DJ Acchi.
In an interview Akane said the intro of Rinne is 190 bpm. Before Kanami wrote Rinne, she asked Akane about her limit of double kick speed and got a reply of 175 bpm, which Kanami ignored on purpose so as to force Akane to level up. 😂 Although Akane is very proficient in double pedals, fortunately she never indulges in prolonged and monotonous machine-gun-like kick patterns, instead she uses them in the most clever way, just the right amount to accent the song, not override it.
I'm a bandmaniac, but to be honest, there are tons of talented femal japanese musicians and bands. Talkin only about drums I will mention only a few, Tamu from Nemophila, Mari from former Mary's Blood and Marina Bozzio ( stepdaughter of Terry Bozzio ). But there are much more on the same level. As for the skills of Band-Maid, there is not only Akane on high level, it is also Misa on bass ( incredible bass player ) and Kanami on Lead guitar ( also main composer ). Saiki is one of the best singer I have ever heard and now coming to Miku. No, she is not the best guitar player, but she learned to play from nearly zero and is now a real good side guitarist and one of the best 2nd voices ( she first wanted to be the singer , but for Rock her voice does not fit totally). But more she is the founder, the glue and soul of Band-Maid, Mrs. Maid herself. Bandmaniacs know this and we all are happy, that she did have the wonderful idea to form this band. Thx littel pigeon, Po.
@@joliquidflow2296 see....she is so much, I forget some important things. 😂👍 She is also the one who tries to get the others out of their shells. When I see Saiki smile and giggle and laugh, we all know who did that.
If you like this drumming, you should definitely watch FREEDUM live. If you want to listen to MISA's bass solo and KANAMI's guitar, Onset live is my recommendation. On the other hand, I like their tight rock MV DICE, NO GOD, Sence, Warning, etc. Their performances have a very wide range of musicality, from pop and catchy to very complex. enjoy!
You guessed right. They say that their maid outfits are hot, and they are soaking wet after each concert. But they also say that their maid outfits are their combat uniform and want to wear them on stage. On the last Christmas day acoustic online concert, they wore classy dress, i.e., non-maid dress, and they said that it felt uneasy not wearing their maid outfits. Btw, their acoustic concert was really awesome. You still can buy the archive ticket. I highly recommend it!
And another one loses their BAND-MAID cherry! If you want to hear some great drumming try their song" I still seek revenge" or their live video "Maners and Blackhole".
Their channel called BAND MAID PRIME has special videos of them individually play their parts in a couple o f music. It is a paid service, but perhaps it fits your expectation.
Welcome to the fandom. Love when Band Maid leaves peeps dumbstruck! :D I suggest the following Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Real Existence (live)
Next live songs Freedom(long drum solo's), On Set(instrumental), Play, Dice, Sense, Thrill, Blooming, Real Existence, Secret My Lips, Check also another all female Metal Bands NEMOPHILA - songs Revive, Dissension, Raitei(Thunder) HANABIE - We Love Sweets 😀 ALL THIS BANDS THE DRUMMERS ARE CRAZY ...
Band Maid and Akane (drummer) are great for sure. Keep doing Band Maid and please react to Nemophila too. They are another japanese all female heavy metal band and they're great. Nemophila's drummer Tamu Murata is one of the best in the business. She has a RUclips channel where she has tons of drum covers and some Nemophila drum focus songs too. Tamu's X Japan (a legendary japanese heavy metal band) covers are insane and you can see how good she is. She is like a machine and the double kick queen. You really need to check Tamu out but yesterday. 😁
Band- maid are amazing- and their drummer is one of the best on the planet :) Hope you get to listen to a lot more of her. She ALWAYS does a great job but this isnt one of the songs you'd pick out to show off her skills on. You said you expected them to be faster- just be aware that while band-maid are rock at their core, they have plenty of other genres influences in their music and they are very creative musically. You can never be sure what you will get with a new song - except it will be good! They just sound like band-maid so dont expect them to fit nicely in a little niche. Listen to Manners or Daydreaming MVs for slow- listen to Black hole or different or rhinne if you want fast - and 100+ other amazing songs inbetween :)
Hey there! Thank for doing a reaction to my favorite band, Band Maid! For some Akane (drums) recommendations, I love to listen to her on "Warning!". She does some amazing things there and to hear her push her technique, try "Black Hole". Kanami (lead guitar) asked Akane how fast she could play and when she told her about 200bpm, Kanami wrote a song at 220bpm as a challenge. Akane doing a cover of Benjo Sandal Dance ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html with great camera angles of her playing, even if it isn't a Band Maid song. Akane doing a demo of something drum related and talking about it (still have some good footage of her playing) ruclips.net/video/a9B5b_FqsC4/видео.html You can really tell that all the members of Band Maid love what they are doing and have fun. They are all really talented in their areas, write their own music and work to push each other to expand their skills and abilities.
IMO, the best song to showcase Akane's (her name is pronounced Ah-Kah-Nay, equally stressed) virtuoso drumming is "Warning!". You can do a reaction to the official MV and official live version back to back. She dominates the song with exceptional speed, precesion and all kinds of tasteful fills and kick bursts. You won't be disappointed! "Freedom", "Play", "Onset" and "Secret My Lips" official live are also highly recommended songs to enjoy her drumming. But that's just the tip of an iceberg, she and Misa the bassist are prevalent in almost every song, they're the best rhythm section among current rock bands! By the way, the outfit is indeed hot and the ladies did get sweaty in gigs during summer (but they still looked decent and cheerful on the stage). Akane's efficient technique not only looks effortless but also helps mitigate the problem of overheating in a 2-hour/20+ songs concert, which is the norm for a Band-Maid show. Some people think the outfits are unnecessary and distracting gimmick, but they establish a highly recognizable image of the band. The members liken the outfits to "battle suits", and wear them whenever they do anything in public related to the band, even in magazine or radio interviews.
Akane's drumming is one of a kind. She's not the fastest drummer or super sophisticated type, but really creative. Everyone in this band has their distinctive sound or voice. And yet, they play so many different styles of music so well. You can always pick Akane doing something interesting to make their song even more interesting. Sorry, so does every other members, complimenting and complementing the songs. Freedom has a long drum solo, but personally she does more interesting drumming in Moratorium, secret my lips, onset, Sayonakidori. Unfortunately they don't have official drumcam available, but you can sign up to bandmaid prime where you can check out self-cover version of each member in your private time.
What I like about the Freedom solo, is that Akane keeps the tempo of the song. You don't see too many drum solos like that. They usually do their own thing.
Drum solo, that wasn't a drum solo... that was Akane just do a bit of warm up. If you want a drum solo you need to see their song "Freedom" live from this same show.
Their drummer, Akane Hirose, has a "maid outfit" that on examination looks more like athletic gear than the other's. There are "drum cams" on many of the DVD's that show Akane blazing away on her double kicks. She can do 220 BPM. She changes beat with amazing smoothness utilizing very clever fills. She composes her own drum parts. Check out "Black Hole". She wears athletic shoes and you can see that her "maid skirt" is basically a culotte made from black running shorts with a minimal ruffle skirt sewn on. She alone in the band wears a separate top that only covers her midriff when her arms are at rest. Her costume is designed to keep her cool while maximizing freedom of movement. I have seen her performing where there is obviously a fan blowing on her backside while she is playing and her hair is getting blown forwards. The more you watch Band-Maid, the more you realize that not only do they work hard, but hey also work smart, very smart.
You want faster? Check out their song Black Hole. Akane hits 220bpm. Another rocker featuring Akane's double kick is Rinne (do the music video, since the only live version available is an abbreviated TV appearance).
From what I remember, I haven't seen a decent drum-cam from Akane (Band-Maid's drummer) ... on the other hand, Nemophila's drummer (Tamu Murata) has many good ones, exhibit A) ruclips.net/video/EBcuPxjbJRU/видео.html 😉 She is just another example of the amazing Japanese female drummers army.😆
Welcome to the Maidiacs! Believe it or not, that's just the tip of the huge iceberg of musical greatness from this incredible group of ladies and the more you hear from them, the more you'll love 'em.😍 If you thought that was a drum solo, Freedom is definitely the next one for you! 🤯 Other suggestions: Play, Warning, Different & Onset (instrumental). Thanks!
You should check out Freedom live version if you like drumming.... all i will say. You will probably totally love it. For drumming skills there are a few songs where AKANE goes far and beyond with fills and changes all over the place. Dice: lots of dynamically changes between different complex patterns. Play: drumfill almost every second bar. Moratorium: very dynamic playing to serve the song all the time. There are more. All of their song are good. I have not yet found a bad song. However, not all their songs are S tier. Som are for me "only" A tier... 😄
I heard you like drummers... Check out Maruta Tamu of Nemophila - she has plenty of drum cam videos of originals and covers but I think she has a drum perspective of Dissension or Oiran which are worth checking out - she's class. Hanabie's Sae is also a joy to watch and Hanabie's cover of ADO's ODO has a lot of her doing her thing. It's a great song too and covered by some seriously talented girls. Check out their calling card "We Love Sweets" for a fun reaction.
The drummer (Akane) has great feet and does a ton of double kick in excess of 200bpm on some songs (Rinne is a song you'd like, for example - do the MV). Her other and more impressive skill IMO is that on many songs, her drum patterns underneath verses vary constantly and unpredictably - like a lead instrument (think Keith Moon but more civilized :-)). This band is not dominated (no pun intended) by any one member - they are all very very good. Most importantly of all they are master songwriters. This song for example follows no known song structure - but it all fits. For heavier guitar tones go with some of their slightly earlier stuff (see Onset Live from their channel), Real Existence Live, etc. These songs are flat out hard rock. For faster and crazier (and more difficult) stuff listen to their newer stuff. My favorites are the ones that harken back to the days of classic hard rock - like Manners (I prefer the MV just because of sound quality, but there is a livestream of that song plus Black Hole that will give you two completely different styles to show your versatility - and you want speed? Black Hole is where you want to be. Plus you'll age more slowly in a black hole - seriously you should try it. Of course everyone you know will be gone by then but hey.
Freedom (live) - same concert and has a real drum solo, not like the tiny one in Domination Rinne - metal song (watch music video, not live) Blooming - really awesome drop and guitar solo (watch music video, not live)
I don't think there are any Akane drum cam videos on RUclips. Band-Maid Prime has a bunch, but that's a paid subscription site, so it wouldn't be right to post reactions to those on RUclips. Here's a good fan video with a drum solo: ruclips.net/video/8Nq_reJB4SY/видео.html&ab_channel=VladimirChupin As others have mentioned, the official live of "Freedom" has a drum solo, and while it's a great performance, it's not super heavy. Some of the songs with heavy drumming include "Rinne," "Warning." and "Black Hole." Also, here's a fan video from a concert in London where all the other members of the band took turns attempting drum solos during a break in the concert: ruclips.net/video/Zu3kkzWf7qU/видео.html&ab_channel=NightRocker
Yes, that video of Akane's solo before DICE, played in Bochum, turned out to be a really nice one. Although Akane does not like solos. And I fully sympathize with her. Usually, the extended drum solos are boring as hell.
That's the baby drum solo, Freedom has the big daddy drum solo. I haven't looks through your uploads yet but if you like Band maid you'll definately like "The Warning" try Evolve that has some killer drum work
As you will find as you listen to more of the 100+ songs Band-Maid has produced Akane is not just about speed and power. Each member of the band serves the song and through the song those that are listening. Weather your into the maid aesthetic, the technical prowess or the melodic mastery of blending genres and styles Band-Maid delivers. If I may be as so bold to suggest a couple of tracks for your listening pleasure I would Suggest the live versions of "Rennie", "Freedom" and "Blackhole".
There's a lot of comments already so you've probably been told a hundred plus times, but you should obviously and immediately watch Freedom (live), and if you subscribe to their fan site there's dozens of drum-cam videos of Akane (as well as of the other members.)
MISA MISA MISA! I realize your a drummer but no love for the Bassist who in her solo (which you overlooked repeatedly) alternated between Picking and Slapping other than that thank you for a great re-action.
Black Hole for the fast stuff......
@@Equilibrium2903 The music video for Dice is perfect. The live version does not hold up. The live version sounds muffled.
Link: ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html
In the video you see Akane Hirose playing a cover of Maximum the Hormone - Benjo Sandal Dance. And if you notice Akane Hirose having a different maid outfit, then you are correct. The recording took place around the first year as Band-Maid, therefore the outfits were slightly different. As they got popular (Thanks to their song Thrill and later on Real Existence) Band-Maid's outfits change so now and then.
If you want a video that spotlights the drummer do 'Freedom' LIVE. It's Akane's only proper drum solo.
Freedom is the song you're looking for. The official live video is the best one.
And many are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (bandmaidprime.tokyo) and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s four of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. These two taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: ruclips.net/video/__1th7ctgMo/видео.html, and a fun, wonderful live performance in Amsterdam of Miku introducing "Don't You Tell Me" (with MISA & Kanami's great instrumental exchange) and "Turn Me On” (with MISA's solo intro): ruclips.net/video/kfYQoWBlSpk/видео.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

Akane " The Gorilla" Hirosi. Speed , timing, accuracy all done with a smile on her face.😁😁
Yes!!! Band Maid!!!! They cover all rock genre, We Maidiacs simply call it "Band Maid Genre"
Here is a link to a drum video of her playing Benjo Sandal Dance by MTH.
ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html
You said you were expecting faster, check out Manners/BLACK HOLE (live), in the second song she blasts away at 220bpm.
AKANE's drums are the best!
Please spread more!

Nice!. In their official YT channel you can find the instrumental live song Onset. That´s the level of musicianship and songwriting that sets the bar.
Congratulations on discovering the best band on planet Earth today! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
Band maid has the best rythm section on earth!!!👍👍👍👍👍🦧🍌🙏
My favorite Band on the planet! As good as any band that's ever strapped on guitars! Great Reaction! Keep playing the Maids!😊😎✌🤘🤘🤘🤘
It doesn't have a drum solo but you can see AKANE's drumming skill in "Choose Me" MV.
And "From now on"
Great first reaction!
If you want a drum solo watch FREEDOM from this same concert. Akane really goes off.
great story, great fantasy PO !
@@tombworld9012 thanks!
MISA said in an interview that it was a Chinese Maid dress, she called Chinese Assassin dress while laughing and smiling so who knows :-)
Although Akane is very proficient in double pedals, fortunately she never indulges in prolonged and monotonous machine-gun-like kick patterns, instead she uses them in the most clever way, just the right amount to accent the song, not override it.
Don’t forget that she’s the one that writes the lyrics that everyone sings to. Thanks to her we have Band Maid she’s the main Maid. Pigeon is boss👍
@@joliquidflow2296 see....she is so much, I forget some important things. 😂👍 She is also the one who tries to get the others out of their shells. When I see Saiki smile and giggle and laugh, we all know who did that.
Since you're a drummer may I recommend the following
BAND-MAID / FREEDOM (Official Live Video)
ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html

There has been many pictures and videos of Akane enjoying the fan during breaks.
Ill keep those suggestions in mind for future videos on this channel 😁🤘
Freedom has an impressive drum solo. Jimmy Page saw BM perform and asked to meet Akane. He referred to her as a reincarnation of Bonham.
Welcome to the coolest rock band around! If you like double kick check out "Rine" . looking forward to more BM! Keep Rocking Amigo!!!👍🏻✌🏻🤘🏻
ERRRR....... Did you not notice that EXCEPTIONAL bassist???!!!
oh yeah if u didnt get it yet band-maid is by far the best band from the whole of asia no questions asked
Watch their song Warning
Freedom has a drum solo which is great. Better than cam stuff.
Akane doing a demo of something drum related and talking about it (still have some good footage of her playing) ruclips.net/video/a9B5b_FqsC4/видео.html
You can really tell that all the members of Band Maid love what they are doing and have fun.
Freedom is the song you are looking for.
Drum solo, that wasn't a drum solo... that was Akane just do a bit of warm up. If you want a drum solo you need to see their song "Freedom" live from this same show.
Official live version of Freedom has to be next. 😎
Just checked for you. There are around 20 requests for Freedom. : )
not many that I'm aware of though there is a nice one of Akane doing a drum cover for Maximum the Hormone ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html
Listen again, but focus on the bass. MISA is on fire in this one. It's easy to miss with all the other stuff going on.
You want faster? Check out their song Black Hole. Akane hits 220bpm. Another rocker featuring Akane's double kick is Rinne (do the music video, since the only live version available is an abbreviated TV appearance).
Band-Maid decent drum solo is Freedom and the instrumental Onset they all get a solo both live
From what I remember, I haven't seen a decent drum-cam from Akane (Band-Maid's drummer) ... on the other hand, Nemophila's drummer (Tamu Murata) has many good ones, exhibit A) ruclips.net/video/EBcuPxjbJRU/видео.html 😉
She is just another example of the amazing Japanese female drummers army.😆
Welcome to the Maidiacs! Believe it or not, that's just the tip of the huge iceberg of musical greatness from this incredible group of ladies and the more you hear from them, the more you'll love 'em.😍 If you thought that was a drum solo, Freedom is definitely the next one for you! 🤯
Other suggestions: Play, Warning, Different & Onset (instrumental).
If you like Akane's double kicks you need to listen to their performance of "Play" from the same gig.
Band Maid will not let you down 😉
I heard you like drummers...
Band Maid Freedom ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html for a drum solo she is so good she even keeps beat throughout
Official live "Freedom"
Welcome to the rabbit hole
Freedom (live) - same concert and has a real drum solo, not like the tiny one in Domination
Rinne - metal song (watch music video, not live)
Blooming - really awesome drop and guitar solo (watch music video, not live)
You need to check out Freedom live it has a kickass drum solo!!!!!
I don't think there are any Akane drum cam videos on RUclips. Band-Maid Prime has a bunch, but that's a paid subscription site, so it wouldn't be right to post reactions to those on RUclips.
Here's a good fan video with a drum solo: ruclips.net/video/8Nq_reJB4SY/видео.html&ab_channel=VladimirChupin
As others have mentioned, the official live of "Freedom" has a drum solo, and while it's a great performance, it's not super heavy. Some of the songs with heavy drumming include "Rinne," "Warning." and "Black Hole."
Also, here's a fan video from a concert in London where all the other members of the band took turns attempting drum solos during a break in the concert: ruclips.net/video/Zu3kkzWf7qU/видео.html&ab_channel=NightRocker
Yes, that video of Akane's solo before DICE, played in Bochum, turned out to be a really nice one. Although Akane does not like solos. And I fully sympathize with her. Usually, the extended drum solos are boring as hell.
@@VladimirChupin yeah that dude holding the camera definitely knew what he was doing.
@@Metal_Auditor When he started screaming "A-KA-NE! Solo! Solo!" ? Yeah, he was definitely possessed by the Gods of Metal at the moment 😂
Your expression after listening to the drum solo was priceless
Akane (drummer) keeps a fan blowing on her.
💯% true
US tour dates are to be announced very soon. I hope they come to Florida
Drummer Akane Hirose usually has a small fan alongside her kit.
Akane is a versatile drummer. If you want chaos check Blackhole or Rinne.
That's the baby drum solo, Freedom has the big daddy drum solo.
I haven't looks through your uploads yet but if you like Band maid you'll definately like "The Warning" try Evolve that has some killer drum work
For drumming par excellence by Akane, it's got to be 'Black Hole' or "Don't You Tell Me' (Live) which has been recently restored back onto RUclips.
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid.
You want faster? You want double kick? Check out their song BLACKHOLE (either the album version or the live version). You won't be disappointed!
Freedom live has an incredible drum solo
Band Maid's song "Freedom" amazing extended drum solo .
There is a photo with Jimmy Page taking a photo with Akane, the drummer. It was reported Page told her she was the reincarnation of Bonzo. Ace cred.
There's a lot of comments already so you've probably been told a hundred plus times, but you should obviously and immediately watch Freedom (live), and if you subscribe to their fan site there's dozens of drum-cam videos of Akane (as well as of the other members.)
Freedom and Onset (the live versions) are must listens.
Akane, the drummer, does blast beats on their song Black Hole.
If you enjoy Band-Maid, I strongly suggest trying Scandal, Wagakki Band, Lovebites, Maximum the Hormone, One OK Rock, Aldious and Nemophila.
MISA MISA MISA! I realize your a drummer but no love for the Bassist who in her solo (which you overlooked repeatedly) alternated between Picking and Slapping other than that thank you for a great re-action.
💯% agree 🤙🏼🥃🥃🥃
