I just pulled the trigger on the lx610 and I don't know you but I have a feeling you know your stuff. I appreciate the warm and fuzzies knowing that I picked a good starter printer to fulfill specific needs to seem to align with your recommended use-cases. It looks like exactly what I need for now in order to get started with a side business I'm in the process of cultivating. I already have a workhorse Epson ET-2760 that's great for small run flyers and photos. I also recently acquired a Silhouette Cameo 4 with upgraded pro software so I can do vinyl signs and possibly use it for simple t-shirts using the heat transfer vinyl. Next thing I've been eyeballing is an M2 Makemade CNC kit and eventually a Creality Ender 3D printer for functional items and an Elegoo Mars 3 Resin printer for more detailed / artistic stuff.
Thanks for the great review. If we are just in need of printing 4x6 labels for 1lb spice pouches, would either of these work or is it overkill? We would print 100 per day.
I have an Epson C6500Au. Do you find that the color quality is great? I've tried printing high gloss labels with images (photos), and I don't love the quality. I'm not sure if it's what I'm supposed to expect from this printer or if I just haven't dialed in my settings (which I've tried multiple times). What do you think about the quality of the Epson C6500?
honestly when i used it a lot. i thought the color ouput was amazing, but was hard to match colors if needed. i had tried so many profiles to find a version i liked because i hated changing every single time. but i def loved the print quality on the epson c6500
What app do you use to say if you have a template and just want to keep the same template and swap out a name. For example I do fragrance and want to keep the same art template. I got over 200 Fragrances and want to be able to to print one fragrance then delete the name and type in another name and print it and so on. I'm used to the 80 labels on one sheet setup where you can put 80 different names on one sheet. I have the old lx900 but having a hard time finding out how to swap names out quickly on an editor
the only white ink printer is the oki series and other rebranded oki printers BUT they are stupid high cost. or the cheap ghost white printers. then ofcourse roland bn20 white option but thats a vinyl printer
Does it seem like the ink cartridge are going a long way? Or do you have to change them often. I can't seem to find the yield info on them. Thanks for your help.
For me I feel like they are lasting def lasted me a whole roll of media. But will all depend I guess. The pricing software estimates. But has variances
Hello, I am thinking of buying a printer. I'm thinking of printing colored labels to stick on the glass jars of the products I have produced. Speed is not important to me. For me, only color quality and correct printing are important. In addition, I'm thinking of printing maybe 50 labels of 3" x 2" a day.Can you comment on the difference in label printing quality between the two machines? Thanks for helping.
if you need it to print and cut lx610 will work great and 50 a day is easy. but if you can print on pre die-cut labels the epson c6500au would be superior quality in the printing and faster.
@@DaPrintHouse that is, when we compare it only in terms of print quality, we say that epson is better. I talked to primera company, all models except lx900 series print at the same quality. So if you say print quality is good for lx610. I can consider the lx500.
@@mustafabaykan3799 its just the epson is more commercial base where lx610 more home desktop. It will work for you but uses 1 ink cartridge cmy no black. Its not bad but my opinion
I'm looking to buy either the primera LX610, epson 6500A or afinia L502. I have a vinyl cutter that read registration mark (summa). I would be interested to know your process when you print on the epson and cut on the vinyl cutter. How long do you cut at a time?
Love your video! I don’t know which label printer to get, either the Epson 6000A or the Primera LX610. I like the cutter idea with the LX610 and being able to make magnets...so I’m leaning towards purchasing it. Can you create and cut magnet business cards? Which prints nicer?
hi, epson prints nicer and has better durability with the pigment inks, also prints larger media and of course the media isnt proprietary. you don't have the contour option but you can buy a cheap standalone cutter and do that for you. epson def is a work horse. lx610 good for short run 1 offs , hope that helps :)
Hey Man! Came across your vids when looking into in house print. I have got an LX610 and just got into it, do I need to laminate my labels with a finisher? If I’m selling stickers to customers do they need to be laminated?
depending on the market or specific job most do not need lam, but they did release a software update that allows you to lam a label but for a short run objective. anyways depends on the job and what its going on most of the time u will not need lam. if they are random stickers like words or sayings i guess it all depends what the intend of use is.
@@DaPrintHouse thanks man for the reply, I have seen this update and for our in-house small run custom prints it will work great, Also printing logos and product labels. I’ve commented on another vid as in that one you said you had some issues initially with your LX610... have you come across the error ‘edge scan error’ before. Machine will not cut or continue a job for apparently no reason. Cheers!
Awesome video. Would you recommend the Primera LX610 for a beginner? I'm looking to start a local label printing company. I was looking into the Afinia L301 but wasn't sure if this is the best option for starting out. Would love to know more.
My take it this. Alfinia might be more commercial grade or l502 might be But lx610 prints and cuts but smaller. Also in the long run lx610 may cost more for media since it's coded. But for starting out lx610 has potential for selling custom contoured labels for smaller runs. Lx610 can print pigment and dye & prints on magnet media as well. But I would choose the epson c6500 over the alfinia as well. Thx for watching my vids
@@DaPrintHouse Thank you very much for the detailed and quick response, I really appreciate it! I'm currently looking for something under $2,000 for a printer. I don't want to spend too much just in case things don't work out, hence why I was looking at the Afinia L301. Currently on sale for 1,686. I want to grab an entry-level unit then work my way up to something better. That's awesome that the Lx610 is capable of printing on magnet media and custom contoured labels. I'll definitely have to keep this printer in mind for the future.
hi, it doesn't print on vinyl, but prints on label media with special coatings to accept the printers ink. different then traditional ecosol or latex printing inks. hope that helps
thanx for ur video ...... pls i want to know if i can use another media (i bought primera lx610) to start in home business but now the problem with media rolls my question (can i use the rolls without chips) and if there are another way for that .... and can i use graphtec cutter and print on primera lx610 later ?? best regards
To use lx610 for print & cut you will need to have the chip. No other way I found. But yes u can print to lx610 from any program like corel because it uses windows drivers I have done this. And then cut contour on seperate cutter yes
if this is what you mean, the printer in this video was the original lx610 i got. in the later videos you noticed the blade holder assembly has a sticker infront that is the new one.
You can use dye or pigment ink in this printer. If you use pigment they repell water way more then the dye ink but the dye ink gives brighter colors but not enough to worry
Awesome set up!
Glad you think so! work in progress! thanks for stopping by!
