So i'm guessing alot of people realize that Anthony throwing them off a festival meant they got screwed out of WORK. This was their JOB, how they made a LIVING. you would've done the same thing if not worse.
I will never forget how f*ing awesome this show was. Mike and Bungle put RHCP in their place.
Trey:
"Yeah, that day on tour in the van we’d gotten the news we’d been kicked off of Big Day Out in Australia. This was a familiar pattern by that point. RHCP (specifically Kiedis apparently) had gotten us kicked us off of a LOT of European festivals the previous summer. We’d been good up until that point, keeping that dirty secret quiet & not reacting publicly to what could only be understood as a weird and unprofessional jealous vendetta (from a huge successful band towards an industry pip-squeak it must be remembered). I was pretty weird, having been fans of the first two RHCP albums, realizing that somehow something personal had gone amiss somewhere. So amiss that a decade and a half after we’d liked this now hugely popular band’s music (and hadn't thought much about about since), we'd be dealing with the fact that they were unmistakably trying to bury us. The latest atrocity, the Big Day Out cancellation, was the final straw for us. Why keep quiet? I remember drawing everybody’s tattoos. James Rotundi our touring keyboardist knew the band's more recent music, and he's a great guitarist, so he did those duties. My main contribution was the tattoos and the Grim Reaper conscience of Hillel Slovak standing there with an accusing finger pointing from the "other side". My favorite character was our sound guy Randy, who stood there shirtless by the drums in a turban like an Egyptian slave boy out of an exotica-era epic, waving a palm branch over ‘“Chad” to keep him cool in between holding up badly-drawn (mine?) drum company logo endorsement ads (in the manner of Dylan’s "Subterranean Homesick Blues” video - get it?)."
Dead Goon's bass line is better than anything I've ever heard Flea play
This is gold, I would give my right nut to watch these guys live, so talented and they should tour again. Was too young and musically naive, at the time mr bungle were around and instead listen to "great" commercial music.
Patton is one of the best musical artists going. He would rather continue making great art than cash in commercially plus vocally he's range is vast.
I was not at this show
We of the Greater Detroit Metropolitan Area had some brilliant Halloweens around that time…Danzig (with Tommy Prong playing guitar) in ‘96, this show, Ween…
YES PLEASE we need a new mr bungle CD
Lol would you have imagined 10 years ago that you would have gotten another bungle album m
@@turbotreehouse9780 well it's always possible if they're alive :)
A GOOD REVENGE ! ! TODAY I ERASE ALL THE FUCKING RECORDS OF RED HOT !!! LONG LIVE TO BUNGLE
i wish i could have been in the practice space when RHCP tried to get through a couple Mr. Bungle covers to get back at them and then were like, "forget it. let's go shoot some heroin."
I was there and I've been waiting forever on footy for more than a decade now .
Best show I've ever been to.
I think the RHCP stuff is funny, but you know what hits the hardest, imo? The "Chad Smith plays Zildjian and Vic Firth" sign. Cracks me up every time!
GRANDE MIKE !! GIGANTE MR.BUNGLE !!!
Love that opening music. Ken Nordine's "Colors".
gandas malucos.i personally like RHCP, but I like Mr Bungle as well.and loved this.respect
i was here, perfect!
We're they in there 1991 1992 looks except these looks
best rhcp gig ever
Legendary
@renardcosmique awesome, thanks for answering
priceless
I was so totally there. Halloween, Pontiac sketch town..
Sooo fucking good.
muito bom
The funny thing about the "fued" is that Kiedis thinks Patton gives a shit.
53:15 SWET CHARITY😍😍😍😍
indeed
28:50 - 29:01 "you cant shoot on a ghost". The ghost refer to Hillel Slovak, RHCP guitarist who dead due to OD. Mr Bungle was so savageee 😂😂😂😂
He has a perfect italian pronunciation....he's such a genius....
the black music sheet holder in front of the shirtless guy makes it look like he's naked and that's a censor bar XD
I was there. 😊😊😊
Me too!
Patton de peruquinha
You always were a laugher, SuperMario16Bit.
Hahahaha!!!! Epic Win!! Mr bungle are way better than RHCP,
Mr. Bungle and RHCP were on the same label, Warner Brothers. Mr. Bungle's album California was set to come out around the same time as Californication, so Warner Bros. pushed Mr. Bungle's release date back because the albums sounded similar. This concert was Mr. Bungle's response to that. There was also supposedly a feud between Mike Patton and Anthony Kiedis since the early 90s. Kiedis responded by having Mr. Bungle pulled from several big music festivals.
mike has so fucking serious voice skills man, just playing, he sang fucking great the chili peppers songs
HOPE THEY REUNITE and MAKE A GIG IN CHILE!!
@ramone you're welcome
ha ha ha one of my favorites and another one of the reasons they got kicked off the BDO tour!
I love the Chili Peppers AND Faith No More, but I can see some of your points, RHCP would survive without Kiedis and I personally consider him as the least favorite member of the band.
but Flea's awesome, and please, don't deny it. :) and this show cracked me up, during Under The Bridge Patton was dancing right on the money, hahaha. :D
LOL best comment ever.
What a fun time. I was a pregnant, cigar smoking nun.
@ramone it's a guimbarde but I didn't know the name in english
Does anyone know the title of the song at 18:30 ? It reminds me the ending of Carousel or Dead Goon
A song called "Metti una sera a cena" by Ennio Morricone
thank you !
@mymateryan ummm... the fat guy in the back that's playing xylophone and cymbols and weird stuff? the guy in the little "box" the sticks holding up the metal disk
What are they playing between "Around the World" and "Sweet Charity"?
What song are they playing between Scar Tissue and Under the Bridge?
It dates back to the early 90s where Kiedis also felt FMN were ripping off RHCP after seeing the video for "Epic".
the drummer at 1:12:38 hahahahahaha
LMFAO!
Whopps haha i meant PLAY the song quite well! but yeah they do pay it out.
@ramone it's a jalopy
I'm pretty surprised Trevor could play Around the World...
"You can't shoot up a ghost!" Mike Patton is great haaha
Patton does Kiedes better than Kiedes does Kiedes. Of course, we all would though...
na mate its just a bit of fun , im sure if the chillis were mature they would have a laugh too. fuc is good to laugh at your self from tme to time.
question: should RHCP have been playing there? i don´t understand they stole the stage or something? how did RHCP didn´t take them off? Or is it a parody concert??
Anthony Keidis had beef with the band because he accused the lead singer of stealing his act. They're getting back at him for getting rid of one of their gigs at a music festival because the headlining band had the rights to say no to any of the other bands, they found it was RHCP and their agents claimed that it was on Keidis who said no. Idk this band is seriously talented and much more different than RHCP I think it's a fair thing to do, whatever it's the business you get made fun of when you piss other people off, rappers do it each other al the time, they brush it off, or retaliate in another creative way nothing to hurtful. Not that you were saying that it was mean or spiteful, I guess I'm more responding to other comments in this chain, even though I'm literally just replying to your comment. Thanks Andoni.
I'm a fan of both Flea and Trevor Dunn but Flea really isn't/wasn't on Trevors level.
16:27 what is the name of that instrument that the fat shirtless guy is playing!?!?
The only good thing about the Chilis was that bassist who had an opportunity to play with a real band: janes addiction.
jajaja quisieron joder a los peppers y les salio bien el "cover" jajaja lo que hacen para vender un par de cd
he told me his cousin is joey buttafuoco at carlinni collision
Bungles covers alone decimate every shitty Chili Peppers song there is.
One word of advice: Stop taking everything so ******* seriously. It wasn't Patton that started those A.K. comparisons. i'm pretty sure that's why they did this. A.K. is A.K. but M.P. is also M.P. So, there you have it. And, by the way, Patton >>>>>>>>>>>> Kiedis. Always and forever.
Absolutely not.
The chilis weren't thaaaat significant in the 90's. really........ Maybe the king of the mediocrities.
i think it's so sad when great musicians fight and bicker and i also think thing it's so fucking disrespectful to make fun of hillel oding
While I agree making fun of his OD is in very bad taste, RHCP are beyond pretentious and did this to themselves. Acting like they invented funk metal. This was a well deserved middle finger in their faces
Flea is overrated.
you clearly like "good" music
que sonido mas h p mente malo
They actually pay the song quite well! to any dum ass who didnt konw would think its the chilli's.
But we get there point, its kinda like how i liked Guns and roses before nirvana turned them into guns and poses.Enlightenment. But the chillis will always be cool , BUT NOT THERE NEW STUFF!
That's sad. There is no reason for doin that.
Chili Peppers kicked them off a bit for because Anthony Keidis hates Patton for no reason. He shouldn't have fucked over and pissed off Bungle.
God, what a pathetic way to destroy 4 of the best songs of the 90's.
he has reason, chilis are 20x better than bungle :)
these guys are aholes for mocking the chilis on stage
mr bungle influenced system of a down, slipknot, mushroomhead, a7x ... red hot influenced who ??
