"No wonder you die in such a dumb way in 2004". I love that running gag so much
On this day exact is the 20th anniversary of 90's Talk Show Host's death. A moment of silence 🙏
I can't wait for the payoff video in 2031

I like how the time travelling reporter keeps getting persistently more terrified
I like how the '90s guy has completely given up on trying to prevent his horrible demise in 2004.
I mean don’t we persistently get more terrified?
And the time traveling reporter guy seems to have given up on getting to return home too. Plot progression? 😝
It's almost like he is living in the moment.
Dont we all?
I told my wife I would go to the Eras tour with her if she wanted and she asked "you would spend $1500 to go see Taylor Swift??" I legit thought it would only cost like $75
oh, holy shit.
I wouldn't spend that much on any concert......
Those kid's parents' must all be so insanely rich
I thought it'd be like 100 bucks. Who pays 1000$ for a concert? Where do they even get the money?
I don't think I've spent fifteen hundred bucks on concerts in my entire life. And I've been to a lot of concerts.
I would *never* have an intense parasocial relationship with someone I didnt know.
I’m pretty sure Ryan knows that about me.
Oh boy😁
Yea, it's so dumb to think their idol knows about them, right Ryan?
😂
Yeah, I only befriend dead people
Me too, but it's because I'm pretty sure he's stalking me.
Please let me go, Ryan.
"Taylor Swift has risen past all those 90s folks"
"I havent actually heard any of her stuff"
Perfect description of pop music in the 2020s.
To be fair, she's pretty fake as a person. Unfortunately, most fans are blind to negativity. They shouldn't call it a fan club but a cult.
@@Supremax67 most fan clubs are cults though not gonna lie, people are worshipping way too much stuff be it a music artist, a corporation like Apple or a dude in the sky lol.
I mean, there's probably only a few artists I hear more often casually than Taylor Swift, and I basically have zero connection to modern pop music.
Teenaged girls are gonna teenaged girl. It's really not any more complicated than that.
TayTay ain't any worse than all the ones who preceded her. Better in some ways.
You're not the target audience. Young People (girls) love her apparently for some stupid reasons. Well most of things they like are stupid. For example, BTS and Twilight movies..
I love how at this point the reporter has stopped bothering to ask if they can bring him back to the 90s, and the host has stopped trying to figure out how he dies in 2004
What if they have the same answer?
Yup if he comes back then he dies@@mostmelon8243
What if Reporter Guy gets LASIK and does go back to the 90s, only he uses his future knowledge for personal gain and becomes Producer Guy??

Right? it's such a meme now that the host only has to say "ugh" and the whole joke is clear xD
"A general and persistant feeling of dread." Yep, not even a minute in and that's accurate.

Persistent Feeling of Dread is the daughter of the Darkness that Art and Paul were singing about being friends with that one time.
A genreral and persistent feeling of dread is always there for you
Hello, darkness, my old friend...
The first 90s Time Traveler video was uploaded 6 years ago, in 2018.
In the first episode, the studio was in 1995. 6 IRL years later, it's in 1997.
This implies that 1 show year = 3 IRL years. Or, they sent the time traveling reporter 3 years further into the future every year the show is running.
The host dies in 2004, which is 7 show years away, or 21 IRL years away. Which means the 90s Talk Show will end with the reporter being forever stuck in 2045.
somebody needs to pitch this movie
It makes me so happy to see he almost has 2 million followers. I remember when I first saw he made his own channel and subscribed very early on. This dude is so damn talented and funny and it's so nice to see someone have such success who deserves it.
I can't believe this show is 27 years old now! Time flies.
I was watching it just when I graduated from college in 1997! I learned so much of the 2024 from that time traveler guy. I wonder where he is now. Hey wait! Despite the next time jump he had, he's probably here now!!!
@richardmahn7589 I thought he was crazy at the time, but so many came true!
I've been watching it since 1986.
I thought it was 16 years ago.
Where has the time gone?

@@MrM-u3h Truth be told, time travel guy is staying at my house. I found him out on the street corner, shuddering and mumbling that he wanted to go home. He was like a lost, scared little puppy. He already stopped asking about the cause of his death. Poor guy.

$1000 a ticket? Who would spend 1 weeks rent on a concert? Crazy. I could almost buy a tank of gas for my truck for that much! Seriously that's like half a cart of groceries, I really wanna come home, please bring me back to the 90s!
That’s only the resellers and front row. I agree that’s a lot to spend for a concert. However, if you buy strife on her there are tickets that are $50 + fees and taxes
Yeah that’s resellers. My friends got Indy tickets for $150 each. It’s a 3.5 hour concert, not including openers, so it’s a great deal. But scalpers gotta scalp.

It's astonishing to me how her fans claim to be the most supportive and bullying free and positive fandom while sending literal death wishes (and voodoo threats?) to someone who says they don't like Taylor swift. You would think the children are the ones doing it but there are grown ass adults doing it too, they seriously scare me
To be fair, that's more polite than most people are when they don't like something. I'm not a Swiftie but I notice celebrities get a lot of undeserved hate by people who are weirdly upset that people like different things than they do.
@@Valeriamtzp Nah, every single large fandom has some toxic fans mixed in there. Nobody asks for that, they show up on their own. Scroll through comments on her posts or music videos, though, and you'll see the majority of the comments and atmosphere is pretty upbeat.
I think there’s only a few swifties like that. However they get shown a lot more bc they attack people. But if you go on to a swiftie channel you will see a lot of positive stuff. And you will also see the people who go out of their way to hate which everyone seems to forget about
@@Valeriamtzp When someone has a fanbase of 100M+, there are definitely going to be quite a few bad ones in there, and those ones are always the loudest (and unfortunately, get the most attention because of how online algorithms work).

I always wondered how a musician can be so successful even though you generally never hear any of her songs ever unless you specifically search for them.
Because lots and lots of people specifically search for them.
Since I never listen to the radio and wear earbuds a lot in public I basically never hear songs I don't search for. That might just be how music works now.
I don’t listen to her either, but I think a huge part of it must be that she was smart with her early success. A long time ago, you DID hear her EVERYWHERE even if you didn’t actually want to. I’m guessing she took the success of that and used it to build up higher.
She is played all the time in public at stores, restaurants, hotels, pools, gyms. You just don't know the songs. I do because I am married to a swiftie.
Edit: also gas stations, festivals, weddings, graduation parties, and one time I heard her song coming from a van down by the river. I wish what you said was true but it's not.
@@pokermitten9795 Where do you live? I never even heard songs that even match her genre in public places and don't think I ever heard a full song of her in general. Just once I heard parts of two Taylor Swift songs in a RUclips video that was specifically about chart hits.

@@bossfan49They're a fragile, yet relentless cult, which she perpetuates. Which is pointed at here
What’s the funniest part is that Taylor Swift fans would happily die for her yet they don’t even realise how heavily she’s exploiting them with those ticket prices
Cults are like that. It's why hard-core environmentalists eat bugs, spend huge amounts of money on underperforming and dangerous electric cars, have strict purchasing guidelines, etc., but Al Gore retired to his coastal mansion in California that, according to Al Gore, was supposed to already be flooded by rising sea levels as a billionaire.
It was bots buying up all the tickets during presale that made them so expensive, she personally didn't get most of that money. The venue also takes a big chunck of change, which she also can't control. Monopolies are a problem. Check out the issues that happened with Ticketmaster. She was livid and the issue came before US Congress.

@@quantumchaos im mr frog
@@quantumchaos You said the thing your older self said minute earlier.
The most surprising thing is that the Host from the 1990s is more concerned about the Environment than Popular music.
90s had its share of media-induced environmental panic attacks too. Holes forming in the ozone, the fear that any random storm might be acid rain and kill us all, the ice age that we were sure was just about to start, the upcoming extinction of all trees from deforestation and using too much paper. I think previous decades before that had their scares as well, but I'm not sure of examples off the top of my head. The things I've mentioned were all being hyped up while I was growing up. All of it was always presented as the end of the world being just a few years away... until they stopped mentioning it and moved onto the next thing to fearmonger us with.
@@MuljoStpho My comment was more about the Character of this specific 90s host than the 90s altogether. If you're a regular watcher of the show, You'll know he's a bit wonky.
@@MuljoStpho
Actually the ozone hole and acid rain were real things. There's still an ozone hole, because someone used CFCs again, probably in China.
The ice age thing had a kernel of truth in it too, for a while global temperatures dropped due air pollution, but global warming reversed it quickly.
Another thing like that from much earlier is that someone calculated that large cities will soon drown in horseshit from the growing traffic. But we invented cars before that prediction could come true.
@@MuljoStpho "media-induced"
I mean, you're not entirely wrong, but you're strongly reading like an anti-environmentalist nutjob.
Ozone-depleting chemicals were a legit hazard that we managed to resolve like reasonable human beings.
Acid rain is another instance where we won by creating new emissions regulations. Another win for reasonable humans.
Some component of the media did run stories about a looming ice age in the 90s, but scientists did not actually think that at the time. It was basically some earlier speculation that the media ran with and pretended was a thing scientists believed.

I'm not the world's biggest Taylor Swift fan but, to be fair, I don't think it is her fault that her concert tickets are so expensive. I think that comes down to a combination of entertainment monopolies and scalpers.
This.
Primarily that the entertainment monopolies also profit off the scalpers.
It would be trivial for them to eliminate the secondary market if they wanted to.
Everyone knows it's scalpers. People who bring it up in anger don't care; they for whatever reason really hate her personally. Ryan George is just making a comedy skit mentioning the things that people online complain about (ticket prices, her jet). :)

sounds like a great idea barely an inconvenience!!
I want the "it's the 90's" T-shirt but I live in Argentina, they don't ship to my country :(
We have to protect Ryan! the swift-ties are sure to come after him after this. Damn that tailoress' fans, their reach knows no bounds 🥺
Someday a time traveler will find these skits and be really really effed up. 🎉

Yeah. And that was 2 months ago.
@@dappersnakeproductions3294 yeah 😭
Jeez I hate Taylor Swift.
Never heard her music, so I'm right there with you, 90's reporter. Surprised you didn't mention the thighs.
Taylor Swift is terrible. North Korean music is 10 billion times better.
My favorite Show. 😍
I miss a year ago when I didn't even know who Taylor Swift was.
Wait, only a year ago? She's been huge for like a decade
@@iambicpentakill971 probs an ipad baby raised on streaming and youtube rather than radio and mtv.
Same, but honestly I know her only form jokes about her.
@@thisisforvids Or a 17 year old who didn't grow up in the US and thus has never watched MTV?
@@iambicpentakill971 Really? I think I've only been seeing articles about her for 2 or 3 years.
I’m really proud of Taylor, finally breaking into the mainstream such that even Ryan George made a sketch based on her!
breaking into the mainstream?
I don't remember ever thinking she was anything other than mainstream...
Her dad literally owned the first label she was at.
I don't consider myself a 'Swiftie' , I never really follow any artists I just listen to their music, but in 2021 I was in the top 0.1% of Taylor Swift listeners according to Spotify Wrapped.
I've never in my entire life cared or gave a crap about anything to want to pay anywhere near $1,000 to see live. Never did, never will. I don't get it. I've never gotten being a fan of anything to that degree...sports or entertainment.
