- Return of the king! In this final episode of Gettin' Ready For Summernats 35 we headed out to Narrandera, NSW to catch up with Jake and Gary Myers ahead of Summernats 35.
The car has undergone quite a lot of changes in the last six months, with Jake bringing his vision to life - to bring back the look of GM176 from all those years ago when Gary entertained thousands of people on the Summernats burnout pad.
Check out the video! And if you wanna see the car in person grab tickets and see you in Canberra!

I grew up in Narrandera, a couple of blocks from Gazzas place. You could hear him start up the beast and we'd all jump on our bikes and fly over there to get a look at it.
The Rod Run at Easter was a particular good time to see the Mustang cruising up East St.👌
Fantastic to see the old girl going back to her roots and then retiring to be a street car after all these years. Can't wait to see it cruising on the road (hopefully wearing the GM176 plates!).
Love the respect to gaz. Well done jake
Would love to see it back with twin carbs & tunnel ram. Legendary car, legendary driver. LEGENDS.
Have loved GM176 since day one, now 52 and can't believe the full circle it has had, love the channel and keep it up mate cheers,Maaaad🎉🍻👍
I was there from the beginning & seen the Mustang change over the years & to tell you the truth I love it back to it’s nostalgic roots . Looks good & this vid took me back to when Summernats started. Aging well too there Gary .
Absolutely AMAZING
Well done mate, really appreciate the effort in these vids. Gary is a legend in his own way that i've seen and admired for years. Keep up the great content.
Glad you enjoyed the series mate, plenty more to come.
i remember lapping the main in wagga back in the day and racing against him at albury drags
Full respect guys I've been following for yrs . I was in Shepparton at springnats deca when that auto let go . Garry copped it in the foot. Wild times.
Loved this episode, I've been reading street machine (looking at the pictures) since a small boy, now 34. Gaza and his mustang are true legends of the car scene. Plenty of skids left in him yet 🤙
Thats sick. Remember from back in the day. Awesome.
Narrandera looks a bit different to when I lived there close to 30 years ago! Great story! Love the history!
Also RIP to Ken Block, noticed the hoonigan plate on the wall.
Best episode yet, love the history of these guys and the car. Much respect.
Bloody hell Gary your getting old.
Your a legend and so good to see the car again...
Gary always burnout king
Well done Jake...I loving seeing full respect for family and what a iconic family U guys are.. Hat's off to you and your Dad 🍺🍻🤙
Legendary 💯❤️🔥🤙
Such a nostalgic car in street machines history, I've known that mustang since I was a kid buying summernats on vhs, 😂,
So awesome thanks guys, remember seeing it at spring nats around 97
That is so nice and clean. It’s hard to beat a beautiful black paint job.
Glad it's back in black awesome 👌 🍻👍
Gday mate good show
Great video, really enjoyed it, been following Gary since the 80's he's a living legend. What about tracking down Ahmed the 'Mad Turk' with his HR Holden ute (pretty sure it was a HR), wonder if he is still around, I thought he started running some event at Eastern Creek....
Original...burn out comp/ legend 🙌
Absolutel beast love the og look its maaaaad
bringing back the beast well done
Awesome stuff 👏
Skids are great, and all but Gary Myers will always be the guy who built the Silver Bullet Mustang, to me. Had that poster on my wall for years
"THE GUY CAN DRIVE" Years ago now i did a car show in Mildura and Gary was our main attraction. The day after i organized a cruise. I had a mock up XY GT and Gazza decided to start doing a mad burnout in my rear view mirror. I started to think he was gunna run up my ass as i watched intently. Stuck in second gear i was struggling to get my car crackin and Gazza come past in a blaze of tyre smoke. The road we were on is called the Spiders Webb so it has tons of twists and turns. Gazza hit the next corner at well over 80mph cos thats what i was doing and he was pulling away. I honestly thought my car show was about to become famous as the one that Gary Myers totaled the Mustang at but wait, that mofo wheeled the stang at full noise sideways through a turn at warp factor 9 with cheese cutters on the front and 14s on the back (no mean feat). His honestly not just a burnout KING. Thanks for the memory Gary.
I met a guy on the Gold Coast in the early 2000s who claimed that his dad originally sold Gary the mustang
I remember when the blower came off that thing at my first ever and only ever nats
Wow I entered in nats no 3 must be getting old I remember all that MAD
Sick
I was there the year Gaz blew the radiator up and blew part of the grill out
First On Race Day ,maad
wat a friggin legend
I remember GM176 with the flared rear guards at the '88 Summernats
Easter Nats
Wagga Wagga.
Bloody good burnout comp that year too
( at the showground and on the main drag )
@MAG58. I never went to the Easter Nats. From memory the '89 Summernats was the first year it was tubbed
It's the car we grew up loving , I wonder after all the years, after all those skids ,what the inside of garry's lungs are like
Does anyone remember the video game which had the Garry Myers Mustang , It was when it was Black with the front end flame job .
Cool
Mad.

Pretty sure he sold it. I remember seeing it advertised 2-3 years ago for sale for about 100k (which I thought was a bargain considering)
I meet Gary Myers himself in Bendigo Victoria I gotten his own poster and signed when Bendigo had the hot rod car show at Bendigo show grounds he is a nicest kindness bloke to meet in person but I am not even a ford fan I will always always have loved Holden's and Chevys
Did they do 'Tip in's' in the 80's 'Brah'?
