Most realistic episode for sure, reality is often more disturbing than fiction and this episode hit hard. I think its important to be reminded of the wrongs done in the past to build a better future.
Starting with "I love Askeladd" for this episode is perfect. Anyway, he is a fantastic character. Just a product of his environment. Not to justify what happens here at all. If karma catches up to him, I think Askeladd would be the first to accept it.
lmao you saying your love for askeladd went up then me seeing the first 10s and seeing the girl in the episode, i was like oh sht she's about to take back what she said
She also understood pretty quickly that Willibald was thinking of Thors as some sort of Christlike figure. Most reactions i see think Willibald becomes animated by Torgrims story because he personally knows Thors.
I feel like that beautiful sunrise is probably a direct reference to a part of the "Sermon on the Mountain" "For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Matthew 5:45, King James A lot of the themes of this part of the season are at least partially about this particular part of the bible. Willibald's idea of love is based on "Agape," which is at least partially described in that passage. In addition to that, there's a bit that gets read later on in the story that is also from this same section of the bible. I think that it's pretty clear that Yukimura was doing his best to show that Thors stumbled upon the same ideas as some of the foundations of Christianity on his own, and that these two parallel ideas describe the spirit that all people should strive to live their lives by, whether you are Christian or not.
This was the first episode in Vinland Saga that left me speechless and it is all thanks to Atsushi Kobayashi (and also the staff) He is the one that directed and storyboarded this episode and you will see him later too. His episodes are always a delight, truly cinema.
Just imagined Alana somewhat willingly going along with the whole warband following Askeladd through the journey until this "point of no return"... being there, being ordered to to that....a dire situation to be in.
If Askeladd didn't kill the villagers, they would have died of starvation in the winter regardless (there wasn't even food). It doesn't justify the killing, but he was looking out for the survival of his group and silencing anyone who could alert the enemy their presence.
Also Alana What’s good with Tokyo Revengers!!This season has been so good I found the channel with Tokyo revengers so watching it without the vids feels empty🤣
"you stealing a ring thats not on the same level as kill people"... wrong is wrong there are no levels thats it.. if i ask you whats 1+1=??? you can say 3 or you can say 5000 both are wrong maybe on different levels for you i mean 3 is close enaugh but wrong is still wrong dont make mistakes and do cherrypicking just to justifi
I think its bad killing other people for no reason.. Edit: i think i do get what u mean tho, we cant judge some of them for acting the way they act bc they were born on this environment, so thats all they ever knew, but that doesnt change that fact that rigt and wrong are still a thing (i think i get the idea tho)
i was so askeladd pilled from the last few episodes that i forgot how bad of a person he can be LMFAOOOOO. 👀
😂😂😂
opposite attracts🤣
It's a very sobering episode
Looool so true
😂😂
Mangaka was like "oops I made Askeladd a bit too likeable. time to remind everyone what his job really entails"
Alana is one of the only reactors ive seen to get the "i feel elated" scene, even i couldnt quite grasp it on my first watch
what does it mean tho? I don't get it

Amazing, Alana got the elated part really quick, I don't remember any other reactors get it.
Yeah shes very in tone with the show, i love it

@@askechadd2473 which is so dumb
Her reactions to this show have impressed me quite a bit she seems to really get all the themes and character motives.
LMReactions got it too
This is why I watch Alana, she's one of those reactors who are good at understanding things.

i will wait Alana say " i love Askeladd " again ha ha ha
This episode is insane, very religious, talk about killing, love, true warrior,Thors and it perfect
Hey Mark, I think I've seen your comments under The Zen Reaction's videos, I miss that guy!!
Those were some hardcore times. Gotta kill to survive, otherwise you'll get killed

This episode was like a gut punch. The author was like: What? You like Askeladd? Well, take this! 😅
Just imagined Alana somewhat willingly going along with the whole warband following Askeladd through the journey until this "point of no return"... being there, being ordered to to that....a dire situation to be in.
The show needed to remind us who Askeladd is. In the words of Thorfinn, "He was a cruel man".
Can I just say that this priest is the Vinland-Pilled GOAT.
The "I love askelad" in the start😂
Bro just foreshadowed the cannon event at the beginning☠️😭
This ep is so beautiful.
the mangaka sure wants to traumatize us before development
hahaha here we are with the uhhhh...mixed feelings episode
Thats when i knew this anime adaptation was special
Sadland Saga 😔
I need more reactions fast😂
Yep, some episodes like this will make you feel sick,, s2 has one too

Time for some slice of life episodes for you. Need you to have some happy tears and laughs. take care and see you next time. 😊

A curiosity is that the mangaka of vinland is a Christian
Yukimura?
That would be the first time I heard that. What's your source?
Even if it isn’t confirmed it wouldn’t really surprise me. This is the most Christian anime I’ve ever watched
@@Noddarappa I agree with you, it wouldn't surprise me either!
Don't know how true this is. His story certainly seems to be pro traditional christian ethics. But i don't know if that means he's a christian.
I dont understnad why people think its a terrible thing to kill other human being, especially when theyre watching a historical anime lkke this

Idk about you man, might be a hot take but, in my honest opinion, killing people, in any era of human history, is bad
To be fair she said she didn’t know much about the Vikings
maybe because its a terrible thing to kill other human being?
