@@seriouslysirius7683 I don't know about the better fight scenes because I think Dragon Ball Z takes that one, but I do agree that Pokemon has more suspense and excitement in the battles. In my opinion, Pokemon is better compared to Dragon Ball Z and the other Dragon Ball series.
It is not only best battle in pokemon league, but also the best battle of the anime. It is even better than Ash vs Leon, Ash vs Professor Kukui, and Ash vs Cynthia

And using the pokemon that Paul abandoned to score final victory meant something. It was a personal victory for both Ash and Infernape. Nobody pushed and influenced Ash like Paul did.
After all these years it's hard to believe Ash is leaving the Pokemon anime but a whole new story is about to start with Liko and Roy and I can't wait to see the start of an amazing journey.

Ritchie was an adorable kid He was a less cocky and less arrogant version of Ash And was tough enough to get though Squirtle and Pikachu in the Pokémon league
But he also felt very sorry for Ash cause he couldn't complete his training cause of Team Rocket. And he when check on him to see if he's okay. That was really touching of him for doing that to Ash. Truly a good rival and friend.
I'm kinda glad they didn't include Ash vs. Cameron because that was a more embarrassing battle than Ash vs. Richie. After all, he lost to a scatterbrain who thought you had to show up to get in the league and thought you had to bring 5 Pokemon in a full battle. And Ash forgetting that Snivy can learn Attract
I'm really glad they didn't put any of the Unova League matches on the list (I don't mind that the match between Ash and Trip was an honorable mention because that's basically where it belongs).
Well, the thing is, he didn't think of registering to enter the Pokemon league (which you do need to do). The other problems with him, was he thought you only needed 7 badges to enter. And on top of that, he thought you needed those badges to enter a Pokemon League in a different region than the one you got the badges from. Scatterbrain is putting it mildly for Cameron, by a long shot.
Watching darkrai in the league was awesome. But seeing ash lose after that trainer's second pokemon being latios made me cry.. One of the best moments of childhood including infernape blaze vs Paul
Man I give you major props for putting Ash vs. Sawyer at #2. I always enjoyed that fight FAR more than the Ash vs. Alain fight. But yeah there is no deny Ash vs. Gary at the Johto league will always be the MVP of Pokemon leagues lol
My personal fav is Nando vs Ash 🎶 True, Nando was a big rival, or the strongest, like Paul was, but he still battled fairly well all things considered. And the final battle between Nando’s Kricketune and Ash’s Heracross was the best part! Ash having Heracross learn Sleep Talk in order to counter Kricketune’s Sing, Nando’s fav move, was such a good strategy. And the back-to-back battle between the two, they made Bug-types look so strong. You can clearly tell both Nando and Ash knew how to use Bug-types well.

Ash will go down as one of the greatest anime characters of all time. When he finally won the tournament it was a sight to behold. Really emotional moment for me personally as a massive fan.
Speaking of Trip, Do you know what he has in common with Gary and Paul?...All 3 of them are the biggest jerks in the Pokemon world, I mean Gary's personality may have improved a little over time but even so.

Even though Paul may have started as a complete jerk at the beginning of Diamond & Pearl, But compared to Gary in the original series,atleast he doesn't always act like that in the next seasons, Cause Paul has atleast help Ash and his friends in some occasions in the DP series,as well as teaming up with Ash in Tag Team Pokemon Battle and unlike Gary,Paul actually respects Ash as a True Rival for him after Ash defeated him in the Sinnoh League before he left. That alone shows that Paul truly is a great and respectful rival for Ash, Cause is not just about becoming stronger and better than before,but also learning,understanding and respecting each other not just as rivals, But also as True Pokemon Trainers who never give up on their hopes and dreams and hoping to become True Pokemon Champions someday in the future. Something that Gary truly lack in the original.

I'm really glad Ash vs. Sawyer made this list and got number 2. That might of been one of my favorite matches ever. I think it might even be top 3 ever. The creativity in that battle alone is what made me remember how much I love this show
Been forever since I watched pokemon but ash fight I believe in orange islands versus that dragonite was my favorite maybe that don't classify as a league battle because no idea how that didn't make the list.
As of right now, Ash vs Leon is definitely the most beast-like Pokemon battle I've ever seen. The entire time, I was on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next and how each Trainer would respond to it. Both contestants choosing not to hold back against each other, pulling out tactics previously used in Pokemon the Series like Counter Shield and Dragonite Meteor, the clash of Gigantamax and a Z-Move... from beginning to end, that whole battle was a piece of cinema for sure. Ash vs Gary... I never saw it, but with what I've read about it, I'm sure I would have loved it. I never saw the entire Ash vs Paul League battle, but I did manage to see the tail end of it in a RUclips video clip, and if you ask me, Infernape got his payback for what happened to him as a Chimchar.

Ash v.s. Gary definitely deserved to be number one, but I disagree with some of the other choice. Ash v.s. Ritchie was just unfair to Ash, Ash v.s. Tobias was a match Ash had no hope of winning, and Ash v.s. Tyson really only stand outs for the impressive performance by Ash's Swellow. Some of the honorable mentions should've been on the list proper.
For Ritchie, Ash could have maybe won if he'd just chosen his team in a different order; Pikachu could have defeated Happy/Butterfree if he'd been Ash's first choice, leaving Squirtle to stop Zippo/Charmander, and then Bulbasaur would have had a better chance against Sparky/Pikachu
Hey Ashley can you do a ranking for Aggretsuko since they finished the final season? Or get Todd Haberkorn to do it since he voices one of the characters in the anime? Also seeing this ranking was great, made me feel so sad we’re nearing the end of the Ash era
Ash vs Harrison I'd say is rather underrated tbph. The battle could've gone either way, there was back-and-forth between the two and throughout the battle, you had a sense that neither trainer had a commanding upper hand. Also even though Charizard lost, the damage inflicted to Blaziken did put it out of commission for the next fight.
My personal favourite is Ash vs Paul, especially because of infernapes blaze , it's so cool. I think this battle deserves to be in no.1 position with such a cool suspense in the battle.
Seeing Paul getting his sorry ass kicked in the Sinnoh League was the most satisfying thing I’ve ever seen. For Ash not only took Chimchar in and raised it to become a really strong Infernape out of kindness, but he and Infernape were able to settle the score with Paul for good. They both surpassed him in the Sinnoh League and got their ultimate revenge for humiliating them at Lake Acuity.
Ash vs Paul is simply the best, because what it packs is much more than the battle of 2 rivals, the battle was between 2 ideologies! And very good on ranking Ash vs Sawyer over Ash vs Alain, because it simply was. Who even wants an unfair ending just so that Ash doesn't win a league.
Ash/Alain, Ash/Gladion and Ash/Paul are too low, and I'm not sure how Ash/Sawyer finished #2 over any of them. Also, I get avoiding spoiling everyone, but Ash/Leon deserved the #1 spot, not being left off the list entirely.
I was actually surprised when he said Ash vs Alain is at 5th position because it helped Ash alot. I would give this battle 2nd place and the 1st place for me is Ash vs Leon

I absolutely loved Ash Vs Guzma it was only 2 pokèmon but it was awesome. Also Ash Vs professor kukui (sorry if the spelling is wrong) was awesome. In fact I loved most of the Alola matches.
It should've been named "Ash's Top 10 Best Pokémon League Battles From The Anime". I mean let's face it, no other match in the entire anime was as entertaining as the ones that included our boy.

@@kish45 Yes. It more like Cell Game in Pokemon World. Like Cell Game it still not considered as official Tournament. The other league is like Tenkaichi Budokai where it's official. The progress I mean is the Battle itself. It score the impact, choreography, feels. To be fair Bellsprout battle for me it has better choreography than Orange League. But I can agree where battle against Ritchie is worse than Drake. But everyone has their own perspective. For me Semi Final Kalos League is the best Pokemon League Battle, Especially during Mega Sceptile (Jyukain) vs Ash Greninja (Gekkouga).
Paul is honestly my favourite of all of Ash’s rivals. Gary might have been the one to start it all but Paul was basically a more amped up and serious version of Gary. Imagine those 2 having a battle together someday am I right?
I would probably put ash vs sawyer as number 1, xyz just provided some of the series best battle not including journeys and even them most journey battles are rushed except the final few

Ash vs Harrison I'd say is rather underrated tbph. The battle could've gone either way, there was back-and-forth between the two and throughout the battle, you had a sense that neither trainer had a commanding upper hand. Also even though Charizard lost, the damage inflicted to Blaziken did put it out of commission for the next fight.

My personal favourite is Ash vs Paul, especially because of infernapes blaze , it's so cool. I think this battle deserves to be in no.1 position with such a cool suspense in the battle.
Seeing Paul getting his sorry ass kicked in the Sinnoh League was the most satisfying thing I’ve ever seen. For Ash not only took Chimchar in and raised it to become a really strong Infernape out of kindness, but he and Infernape were able to settle the score with Paul for good. They both surpassed him in the Sinnoh League and got their ultimate revenge for humiliating them at Lake Acuity.

And very good on ranking Ash vs Sawyer over Ash vs Alain, because it simply was.
Who even wants an unfair ending just so that Ash doesn't win a league.
Ash/Alain, Ash/Gladion and Ash/Paul are too low, and I'm not sure how Ash/Sawyer finished #2 over any of them.
Also, I get avoiding spoiling everyone, but Ash/Leon deserved the #1 spot, not being left off the list entirely.

Ash vs Guzma should be in the top 10. That was an amazing battle and it was satisfying seeing ash beat the team skull leader.
I absolutely loved Ash Vs Guzma it was only 2 pokèmon but it was awesome. Also Ash Vs professor kukui (sorry if the spelling is wrong) was awesome. In fact I loved most of the Alola matches.

Second. The list is about battle. Not about the victory. The progress more important than the result.

@@kish45 Yes. It more like Cell Game in Pokemon World. Like Cell Game it still not considered as official Tournament. The other league is like Tenkaichi Budokai where it's official.
The progress I mean is the Battle itself. It score the impact, choreography, feels. To be fair Bellsprout battle for me it has better choreography than Orange League. But I can agree where battle against Ritchie is worse than Drake. But everyone has their own perspective.
For me Semi Final Kalos League is the best Pokemon League Battle, Especially during Mega Sceptile (Jyukain) vs Ash Greninja (Gekkouga).

Paul is honestly my favourite of all of Ash’s rivals. Gary might have been the one to start it all but Paul was basically a more amped up and serious version of Gary. Imagine those 2 having a battle together someday am I right?
