    Omg this is probably one of the best builds I’ve seen for this board. It sounds great and I love the keycaps and all your little 🐈 figures. I’ve heard about the issue with the stabilizers… I’m waiting for the zoom 65v2 to come and may just pick up extra stabs just in case. I love the color you choose too. 🥰

    Great build video! I've thought about this board but at this point I'm too impatient for GB. I'm good with waiting 4 or 5 weeks like I did for my Neo but longer than that I might decided I want to spend the funds on something else. This keyboard looks and sounds amazing, great work and definitely worth the wait it seems!

      I totally share your approach! I really hope this 4-5 weeks ETA will be the new standard soon. So many bad stories about unfulfilled GBs, it definitely shouldn't be the norm.

    Great video! Can you talk more about the way you test latency for wireless? Maybe update your spreadsheet with details like how far you are from the receiver, whether there is anything between the receiver and the keyboard, etc. Wireless is fairly important to me so I'd love to know if the environment is going to be similar/better/worse than what I am going to be using at home. Thanks!

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hey, Thank you for your comment! The test setup is a fixed setup, the receiver is cca. 20cm from the keyboard - in each and every test. No obstacles in between.
      These measurements are best to use as comparison between different keyboards.
      Alu case keyboards tend to have worse wireless latency as the thicker the alu case, the weaker the signal is. In case of the Zoom75 they probably used such a frequency that was strongly eliminated by the thickness of the case. We re-tested it multiple times, and double-checked with many different keyboards, but only the Zoom75 had such an issue, so it was not caused by environmental interferences.

    Love your reviews! Will you be reviewing the Rainy75, Leobog Hi8 or the Monsgeek M1 HE? Would love to watch your reviews on those.
    Also wondering if HE keyboards are worth getting now or should I just remain using mechanical switches keyboard currently.

    Ohmagawd, someone who cares about wireless keyboards enough to test and compare latency. Thanks for that. I very much need a wireless keyboard and am finally fed up enough with the bluetooth on my keychron to get back out here and look for something with 2.4GHz wireless. I really want this keyboard now (despite the 2.4GHz seeming a little mediocre), but sounds like I missed the boat.

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  9 месяцев назад

      There are only very few Extras available at some vendors (some at CoffeeKeys, CannonKeys, etc.). But yeah, the inconsistent performance is so sad.
      I feel your pain, Bluetooth is not usable in most cases, it's just a waste. :') Manufacturers should focus more on 2.4G.

    At some point if you get your hands on a wooting board could you do a latency test on it using your standard setup? I see what their claimed numbers are but I'm interested in whether those are similar after your testing.

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  8 месяцев назад

      Absolutely yes!
      From what I researched, Rtings performs almost identical tests (also with similar results - at least differences well within general measurement error) - so until I myself get my hands on a Wooting, I'd say you're safe to go with their values for comparison. :)

    • @thoccnology

      Yes, exactly as you said - for the second half of the sound test I removed all the foams (I left only the bottom case foam in the keyboard). That will definitely make it sound more poppy, and high-pitched! :)

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hii~~Thank you so much! ^-^
      Using a high refresh rate monitor the differences are even more noticable - the worst BT results are even noticable during a simple typing session (even on a 60Hz screen).
      Differences can't be really seen/felt/computed by human brain under cca.10ms, so that's why I always advise to choose something under 10ms latency for (competitive) gaming.

    The Zoom75 sound so clean ... like clacking billard balls. Keyboards are not supposed to sound like billard balls, but it's so satisfying. Anyway ... it's 2024 now, and I don't think any keyboard is worth the hassle of a group buy, unless it really hits the "feels" for you. If it's based on just specs and sound, then a lot of keyboards have similar specs, and most the quality ones can be modded to give the the sound that you want. That keyboard still looks reallll good though.

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  9 месяцев назад

      Haha, no, billiard ball sounds are perfectly fine - I mean who thought that the popular 'bubble wrap keyboard sounds' will be soooo soothing as well? :3
      I totally agree - I'm happy that I could experience the GB process, but it's not something I would encourage to continue keeping up.
      As you also said, with the recent market change it's just simply not needed. At all. Too many good, in-stock keyboards out there.
      There's only one GB I'd be still joining, and it's the Nlandkeys Kyubi GB, they still don't have a huge capital, so I tend to understand why they went with the GB structure, so hopefully that will turn out to be OK as well. ^-^

      Hm, the Hi75 and the Zoom75 are quite different in price (almost 3-4x).
      There are many, many options between these two (Cidoo V75, Monsgeek M1 and M1W, etc.)
      If I could have only a Hi75 though, I'd be very happy with it.
      Pingy cases can be fixed with foams, I didn't experience ping from this board (with foams, it's zero).
      Also, the GB perios is closed for the Zoom75, only some extra items are available at some vendors.

      To be completely fair, the 10-30ms latency difference is not really visible (the human reaction time is somewhere around 150-250ms, e.g. when clicking with the mouse).
      What's bothering that all these factors add up and result in a worse overall latency (including latency of the PC elements and monitor, and human reaction time, etc.)

      The Mod007B is on-par with the Wooting, a couple of ms difference, but in the long run it doesn't make a huge difference (unless you're in competitive e-sport :))
