    We have a child in a wheelchair (cerebral palsy) and our home is full of distractions. I must confess I have been lazy. I am too lax when its been hectic. My mentality (probably an excuse) is that I would rather them love school and have a harmonious home. However I see where that is complacency and dangerous to give my kids a way out of stress instead of learning to be thankful in spite of stress. I am praying the Lord work on my heart so I can be example. God have mercy on me. Thsnks so much for all your videos! I love them. Such a blessing.

    Wow!! 🤩 thank you so much!!!!! You really got me on the “it’s not you it’s me” 😬 I’ve really let my youngest get into bad habits. It’s really been difficult trying to get things back on track. This video was excellent! I’m actually gonna have to watch it more than once to really take it and process it all. Thank you so much for all your efforts. I’m so excited every time I see a new video 🙌🏼

      Seven7 Arrows yes, but my little guy has gotten out of hand 😞 I know it’s our fault as parents.... we really have been to lenient and let him get away with so much! We’re in the middle of trying to turn the train around but it would’ve been much easier to not let it get here in the first place. I’m so grateful for her videos though, it really gives me good ideas

      I plan to watch it several times too. We're going to work on a better morning routine too. It's basically been a free for all since I had my youngest 7 months ago. Oops.

      Natural Mama_of_4 yes we have 4, but my oldest 3 are very well behaved and disciplined...... but there’s a big age gap from the youngest and we let a lot of things slide. Totally regretting that now 🤦🏻‍♀️

    I heard the music suggestion b4 to start specific activities... and these days I'm so done running room to room chasing kids, yelling from another room when I'm missing 1 or 2 kids who didn't come to call..... a nice 4 min song. So when song starts they know I have 4 mins, eventually they will know the song so well and every progression they shouldn't be late to call and mom doesn't have to run around except where I am needed or have them feel like I am raising my voice or rushing them.

    I really needed this today! Thank you. I continue to struggle to learn how to parent my sweet 5 ages 8 and under (and number six on the way) and be able to care for the house too. I really struggle with keeping them all on task and not letting chaos take hold. You had some great ideas.

    I love when you post a new video! I grab a cup of tea and curl up on the couch with a big smile on my face. This was such a feel-good video, too! I laughed lots. I love "I can't find a comb!" LOL
    I don't know much about Susanna Wesley and would love to learn more. Is there a particular book you would recommend about her life and parenting wisdom?

      I always love hearing from you, Jill :) I actually have a biography, think it's The Sower Series or something like that, but also the Internet has lots of good stuff on her, too.

    I love it, I'm such a goof... I turn songs into my own too... mostly to rile up my children all in good fun. My dad use to do it too, he wud turn songs into songs about him or me and it would be just to make me smile, or cringe lol. I was showing off and fell on my butt the other week and had all the kids going lol. If things get too tense or dramatic (house of girls) my response is usually a song and me being goofy dancing and singing. My son and I have our own dance and we twirl and spin and dance to our love song. Sometimes we need an entirely different mood or atmosphere to get through things. I probably need it more myself these days too. I've been ill for many years and music let's my kids know moms going to have a good day.

    So I've tried charts diff times and ways over the years and they never worked for us. I saw an idea of wristbands for school subjects as they finish a subject remove a band... my first thought was chores :) if each kid gets a set of bands with chores associated they can't say oh I forgot.... and I don't have to go searching or asking because I can see the bands they are wearing. So if they say they finished I can ck and if its done trade the bands. Maybe trade for weekend electronics time or something ... but I also like the idea for independent work or loops so kids can tell what they need to do. If you have a yellow wristband then finish the assigned work in the yellow books

    Thank you so much for sharing this. I needed to be reminded. So many days I find myself discouraged because my kids are not remembering to do what they need to do. What advice do you have if you have worked with your kids for years and they continue to forget to do what they need to do? Keep doing these videos, they are so helpful.

    • @MomDelights
      @MomDelights  4 года назад +1

      For my kids it helped to change things up a bit to keep their focus, such as coming up with a new program or offering a different set of rewards, etc. Making more serious consequences can help, too. Otherwise, it's just sticking in there :P

    Good evening. First thank you for sharing your homeschooling tips with us. They have really helped me.
    Could you please give me some suggestions on the following. My 7 year daughter really longs to go school. She knows the school bus schedules cuz they stopped right at the corner of our houses. She knows which kids are which buses. All the neighborhood kids she plays with go to school. In her discussions with her younger brothers she has made it clear that she would not like to homeschool.
    So could you share some insight on how to tell our kids why we homeschool and also could you share what I could do to make her love homeschooling more?
    Thanks

    • @MomDelights
      @MomDelights  4 года назад +2

      Sounds like she is experiencing feelings of being left out because all of her friends go to school. It might be helpful for her to be exposed to all of the kids being homeschooled whose families are online, such as Our Tribe of Many or Amy Martin or a host of others. You could also explain how a typical day at school goes, you know, how it differs from the freedom she has at home compared to the schedules and rules she would have to follow. You could also clue her in to the reasons you have chosen homeschooling and in doing so you give her the chance to choose it for herself, too. Hope this helps😁

      @@MomDelights thanks so much for your insight. We are part of a homeschooling group so she knows she is not the only one. But now that you mentioned it, I don't think we have really explained to them why we homeschool. So I will talk to hubby so that we formally do that. Aslo I will consider showing them videos of "trusted" and safe homeschooling families like the ones you suggested.
      Thanks a million. God bless

    What is an SOP? This is my first video of yours.

    • @MomDelights
      @MomDelights  3 года назад +1

      It's an army term and stands for "Standard Operating Procedure." It is basically the procedure for getting something done that is put into steps and written so that others can take over the job and do it correctly.

      Thank you :) I've been doing this so long I don't really know how to answer :) They say it takes at least a month to develop a new habit, so I think that's a good place to start.
