Her voice when she sings “you won’t believe what just two months do, I’m older now believe me, I adore you” is SO good. Gives me chills. I love this song so much and can’t wait to hear more new stuff!

Absolutely next level songwriting. There's incredible attention to detail in everything Lindsey does. Looking forward to buying the album, we need to treasure and support artists like this with immense talent and integrity.
Like the song and the video, and I'm just getting turned on the SM, but next level songwriting? You must not listen to a wide scope of music. I say that with no disrespect to Snail Mail or Lindsey. From what I've listened to, she's sounds as good as most anyone else out there within her genre, maybe better than a lot of them, but again, (absolutely) next level songwriting? I'm not sure how you derived at that. Quite a stretch to say IMO, but that goes for 90% of artists out there I think. I believe you have to basically break the mold for all others to acquire that homage. I'm interested in listening to more just the same.
@@wbc5150 came here to say the same thing. This song is great, but anybody that has paid attention to the indie rock/midwest emo/pop punk scene over the last 20 years can't possibly think this is "absolutely next level songwriting". In fact, it fits in well with the likes of the Hotelier, Moose Blood, Tiny Moving Parts, Dads, etc.
@@xx-ug9hn 😂 being honest though, my first inclination was to be _that_ guy too. probably kidding myself I could've voiced a contrary opinion without a position-myself-as-the-arbiter-of-taste swipe like: "you _must_ not listen to a wide scope of music" or "_anybody_ that paid attention to the... scene... _can't_ possible think this..." beaten to it my next inclination was to stick up for OP but, second to that too, instead I'm forced to confront my own edge-lord, contrarian tendencies...
wow, your voice has taken such a beautiful turn on this new track. whispery and low to pair with those intense moments you’ve always been so good at capturing. gonna buy tickets to see you in mke this december. this vid is everything !!!
This is beautiful, not only her portrayal of the love scenes, with the love interest being more comfortable with her than with the man which was shown in such subtle ways, but also the fact that she kills both characters. It shows how she feels so well and doesn't leave that bad taste in your mouth that just killing the man would have to get to the girl. Truly beautiful. Love you, Snail Mail.
I love when all the chaos happens and then the lady crinkles her nose and continues eating like she's seen this seen a hundred times. This is a master piece video. Love it!!!! Almost as she needs to finish her meal before the end.
For those who say they don't make music like this anymore, Lindsey makes it! This is one of my favorite tracks ever. I play this on repeat all the time. The way her voice captures all the emotions and that wonderful kick when the guitars jump. Just wow!!!
I am so glad Snail Mail is back. This is an ace tune. I love everything in this song specifically the 🎸 and the 🎹 parts in the verses... Very immersive to listen to. The ending where Lindsey is eating the cake (covered in blood) while watching herself dancing with the girl is utterly poetically melancholic.
i’m looking for comments on the first scene because I’m absolutely swooning over how well that is done. the YEARN is hard😂 also, I’m insanely obsessed with this song, it is so striking and great and raw, I feel hurt and in love by it. ♥️
This was a fun video. I really thought it was funny and sad at once. It flows from scene to scene very well. And the sound of the song itself is just so epic. I am adding it to my "Awesome" playlist.
I don't usually relate to lovelorn songwriting, like what usually characterizes most of Lindsey's lyrics. I've simply never overly idealized my partner, or felt like I lost who I was in someone else. I feel like largely, as a seriously dysfunctional youth, that was probably a good thing. In many periods of my life I've been a total mess and I admitted to myself that I needed to prioritize getting my shit together over seeking out a relationship with someone else, and that if the relationship I was in failed, I had plenty of work to do. I've generally been somewhat stoic about it. That being said, all of her songs which are about the intensity involved in feeling deeply for someone else, I believe every note. Good music speaks to you no matter what your situation is.
They seem like good friends :)
Welcome back Lindsey!!!!
they were roommates
Such a beautiful friendship
@@Rmk8240 omg they were roommates

maybe siblings...

My favorite part!
this song is so emotional my ghad!
same and that's exactly how I feel
I love that line, along with "I ruined me for you."
Yes! That exact line is so vulnerable and relatable. Gives me chills also.
The wait has been so worth it omg. I love the evolution of her songwriting!
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Let's go be alone
Where no one can see us, honey
Careful in that room
Those parasitic cameras, don't they stop to stare at you
[Verse 2]
Can't love for us both
You've gotta live and I gotta go
As long as it's us two
Fuck being remembered, I think I was made for you
[Chorus]
So why'd you wanna erase me, darling valentine?
You always know where to find me when you change your mind
[Verse 3]
I'd hate to picture someone with you
I'll lay down and start to cry
You won't believe what just two months do
I'm older now, believe mе, I adore you
[Chorus]
So why'd you wanna erase mе, darling valentine?
You always know where to find me when you change your mind

[Outro]
No, I can't hate you
I'd ruin me for you
Blame me if you need to
But I adore you
I adore you
I adore you
I adore you
The line "I ruined me for you" is amazing. I think about it a lot.
“So why’d you wanna erase me?” GRIPPING!!! So so good

I was talking to a friend literally last week about how much I wanted a new Snail Mail album. 😭
I’m so excited for it, this track is incredible 🥰
This is the best thing to happen all week. I love you Snail Mail
This song hurts in a beautiful way
THIS IS SO GOOD HOLY SHIT THE WAIT WAS SO WORTH IT
This is my favorite song this year . It's a rock masterpiece
lol, omg.

The vocal volume dynamic range on this song is amazing. It really is the best aural selling point.

what got me was the girl that kept drinking even though she just got splashed with blood. 🤨🤨

I was like "she's not old enough to drink yet" & then checked & time has really flown by 😳
I saw her tour in 2018 in Leeds and she had a bottle of merlot on stage with her 😂. I mean, 18 is the legal age here, so she was fine!
@@LJNorthey 😁 as it should be
@@jaygeeeeee Agreed! 😄
She drank way earlier anyway lol
I heard she went to rehab. Unrelated, it could have been other stuff besides alcohol
GOD. i've always admired lindsey's absolutism in her lyrics but THIS MV IS SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY
This is one of my favorite songs of the year.
She gives me Wolf Alice chills... Love it
I love this direction, can’t wait for the album 😩😩😭😭
me too i am dp excited for the album
Happy Valentines Day
The chaos in this video gives me the same vibes as panic at the disco I write sins not tragedies!
Only realised on my second watch that she kills the woman as well. Makes the ending even darker, and I love it!
Lmao I just noticed it 🤦🏻♂️ so she ends alone lol
yes i noticed that too
I was intrigued when I heard this song on the radio last night and the video absolutely fucking sold me on snail mail.
This is just a great song. Chorus just bowls me over.
Hey you should look up a band called The Doublejumps if you like Snail Mail
Loved the song so much I searched for live versions. Found this video. Beautiful, sad, and bloody glorious. One of the best videos I’ve seen in years.
I love how the subtlety of the lyrics is matched by the video! Love Lindsey, couldn't be enough.

Love this song so much.
Loved this song for awhile, and the chaos of the music video makes me love it more.
Well, that is so promising. Been so long since 2018, really missed her sound and love the way it is evolving.

Wow, such a cool track, the chorus really elevates the senses. Sensational vid. [pours a glass of Merlot and watches it again]
Hey Ed, I agree! [raises my glass of Merlot to you]
Oh man, I was so not expecting Snail Mail to lay on the gore like that. Loved it. Glad you're back!

I think this might be the best song I’ve ever heard.
I’ve never seen a new music video within half an hour of when it was uploaded, let alone within 11 minutes of it being uploaded. Love this!
So much appreciation for this song, the production, singing, instruments, all of it is incredible having watched them grow over the last few years.
