I wondered whether this had been taped before or after Lindsey's surgery. Hadn't seen this advertised/referenced on Snail Mail's Ig. She does sound a bit hoarse.
@@austintrousdale2397 When Lindsey explained it in one of the interviews they surgery was due to how she speaks (kinda horse)and not to her singing...I'm pretty sure this is before cause she keeps releasing shorts of herself at home recovering.

Scott LaFaro's bass work on the album is legendary. I like the way Evans leaves space in his playing to allow the bass to really shine through.

Saw those In Utero statues at an exhibit in Seattle like 10 years ago. I was in awe.
Super talented and likable young woman. Really related to what she said about the Elliot Smith album. Sometimes when I listen to a record with too many great tracks I get overwhelmed.

Love snail mail. Valentine was a great album! Madonna is my favorite off of it, but Forever(Sailing), Glory, Ben Franklin, and Valentine are really good

Lindsey has a great range of favorite records. Sakamoto is a genius and I would be curious if she has ever listened to the music he collaborated on with David Sylvian? Off handed comment, I don't see many of the guests on this series bringing up Sylvian records...I guess most of his music is lost in time.

I see a lot of interest in Japan nowadays, but his solo stuff- which I love and is fascinating- I guess is just a tough dig for many, but oh so worth exploring.
Yes. Low is being heralded this year for a very abrasive, striped down glitch noise record but Sylvian went down that path over a decade before with his collaborations with Christian Fennez. A direction that alienated him from much of his fan base. But Sylvian showed his remarkably versatility with those works. I saw KC this year but wondered if an inclusion of a song from Fripp/Sylvian would have made a great concert even better...because of the groove and funk found in the songs from that collaboration. Having arguably the three best drummers in the world due wonders with an instrumental version of "Darshan" would been a real treat.

Just recently found out about Snail Mail from buying records. Went to buy a Fiery Furnaces album and was recommended the Valentine album. Great stumble upon. ♥

Absolutely love Snail Mail. Immediately fell in love with Lindsey's voice the first time I heard it. Pity Amoeba forgot to take the security sensor off the the t-shirt though.
