If anyone is allowed to tank, it's the sharks. The Shark Tank.
more important question, how could the league enforce 'Not tanking'?
They kind try to a little bit through a cap floor
2:30 Leafs won the draft 🤡. They tanked until they did that. If they didn’t win the draft those players mentioned would have been out the door sooner. That’s how tanking works. Tank when there is a generational talent available and build around that player.
Adam is WILD for this one. Anaheim all time has 9 top 5 entry draft picks with zero 1oa picks, but they have a Cup. San Jose has 0 Cups, with 7 top 5 picks 2 of which have been in the last 2 entry drafts which includes Celebrini. Anaheim have 3 top 5 picks in the last 4 entry drafts. And it's not like Anaheim has missed on any of their picks either. They just haven't yet as a franchise put it all together.
If anything I’d say Chicago keeps trying to purposely tank.
Maple Laughs fans talking about if teams should be allowed to tank? Did you guys forget how you got AM?
Weren't the Leafs the team with the most points to ever finish last or something like that in this particular season?
And worst odds to get a No. 1
8:00 The year Murray was fired, these players were on the Sabres: Ryan O’Rielly, Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Zach Bogosian, Evan Rodrigues, Kyle Okposo, Dimitri Kulikov, and William Carrier all Stanley Cup champions.
Add to that Evander Kane, Marcus Foligno, Jake McCabe, Robin Lehner, Linus Ullmark and a lesser extent Zemgus Girgensons, Nicolas Deslauriers and Rasmus Ristolainen and you have a core ready to turn the corner and the team hovering around 500 suggested that.
The Sabres are in a perpetual rebuild because the owners put them in one, probably on the advice of Bettman to fire the GM who first publicly said we need to be uncompetitive to become competitive, or we need to tank.
Arizona/Montreal win - SDPN: "RESET RESET"
I can only admire such pettiness 😂
Buffalo. Always two years away from being a year away.
Tanking happens in all sports and in all leagues.
Happens in all American leagues. In Europe we don’t reward teams for being poor. The good thing about the American system is that it gives more teams the opportunity to become good, but you do tend to see the same teams dominating for longer periods, just as you see in European league. I just think it’s nice to see a different model, love watching US and EU sports :)
@@benjaminkvaale2151 Correct I was referring to North American sports. English premier league is awesome!
“Haven’t been bad enough for long enough” 5 years of unwatchable hockey is unearned? Adam just hates the Sharks and it’s insufferable how little attention he pays to the west.
I love Adam's bad takes, like "you haven't earned a number 1 pick yet."
Especially when their franchise was irrelevant before Matthews and suddenly put it together. “Oh but Nylander and Marner” Eklund and Smith. My eyes are rolled back all the way into my skull every time he fails to do any bare minimum of research outside of his bubble
Tanking should be encouraged. If you can get 1st rounders and good prospects for your aging assets or guys you need to pay through a rebuild then it's better for the vets and young guys looking g for a shot/older vets looking for a final shot at showing they can play. Trades are fun and rebuilds can be exciting.
Exactly! and it does make sports betting a lot easier
@@Isabella-hd1gt lmao fact
Well, when there's no guarantees that you'll end up with the 1st overall pick, then yes, you're allowed to tank...
Hard to say… it literally saved the Penguins in Pittsburgh
Anybody got a good chilli recipe?
I’m sure someone does
Jackets fan here. I cannot wait till we rival every team in the league.
San Jose hasn't earned a 1OA lmfao ok funny guy got jokes
Tanking teams should be made to pay any fans fooled into paying for season tickets a full refund
Sharks started their franchise with the biggest expansion hose job in the history of pro sports expansion. Never a 1OA until Celebrini. Adam needs to step off with his disingenuous opinion of who deserves what.
I mean I hope the Sharks tanking turns out better than the leafs efforts.
The leafs are following the sharks early 2010s to the tee. Star plays like Thorton and Pavelski with no heart that just cant get it done
@@MountianBiker1996lmao you mean the team that made it to 3/ conference finals and a cup final? Leafs have gone to round 2 and we know how that went, first round exits otherwise. Never ever compare those 2 teams again lol
If the Leafs do it, it’s fine. If the other teams do it, it’s a problem.
Hagens to San Jose! Hagens, Celebrini, Eklund and Smith.
The NHL should create a post season tournament of the non-playoff teams for the first overall pick. Where the three worst teams are given a slight advantage, but have to ice a team that can win some games, or lose their position in the draft order. That would end the tanking efforts of bottom feeders. Try or fail.
That would be sick
They have called that the golden draft.
Once a team is mathematically from the playoffs. Wins/ points after that count towards their draft standings.
The downsize is truly bad teams will just keep losing.
Slippery slope. One could argue Toronto is tanking on purpose. 😂😂😂
Maybe you should be allowed to be top5 in the draft two years in a row then you will be moved down to 16th draft the third year
Moore Jose Harris Jessica Thompson Margaret
No more lottery. Make it a point race. The team that has the most points from the point they were eliminated gets 1st, the rest get where they fall in this system for all non playoff teams.
