  • From the back catalogue of videos I filmed and edited with Will Raison.
Practice all you like but in a match there’s no place to hide. Make the wrong decisions and its curtains. Filmed in 2014 this In Session follows Will Raison during a match at Gold Valley. He reveals how he assesses his draw, what tactics he chooses, why and how he feeds the swim.

Creators note March 2024 : You may know that I shot and edited the Will Raison Fishing videos that were published by V2V Angling Productions but illness (I have a rare form of blood cancer) brought me to a point where a few years ago I could not continue making them. As the copyright owner of these productions I believe they are still packed with good info and advice even if they are somewhat dated now. Therefore I am slowly adding the back catalogue to this platform. Kind regards Brian Gay.

Would you say chucking the method over your pellet wag, is like putting a pot on over your loose feed pole like, just focusing them fish to a tighter area? Thank you Brian for the memories 👍

How do you maintain accuracy with a catapult?

Having worked with Will for many years, he has different catapults for different situations. Distance consistency is usually achieved by having the elastic cut to length and / or different strengths. Experience will then help in learning what trajectory, what direction to compensate for wind, what baits to use for feeding etc. Wills approach to fishing has always been a common sense one, if it’s too windy to be accurate with loose feed then try another method ie feeder or cupping in bait.
