Hey I'm the guy that originally requested this video! Glad you got a ton of views for it! I would love to see you do this same treatment to the Roland TD - 07! That's what I graduated to! Lol
You should do a video about all of the cables, adapters and handy items to have. Tell about the Drum Splitter. One input with 2 totally different sounds.
This is really helpful. It would be neat if you did these how-to's for other bands/genres! I was so busy learning to play, I never learned to adjust the settings to make it sound better
AMAZING buddy, I grow up in the 80's and one of the first albums I bought was hysteria, you've nailed it. Thank you for these videos they really give inspiration to go and get the most out of these great little kits☺️
I just got a Nitro Mesh special edition to add to my home studio and your videos are just what I needed! I am not a drummer but can keep a beat so learning how to best set these up is a big step in the right direction Thank You!!!
Oh I forgot to mention. Most of us 80s metal heads used cloth strips and "dead ringers" to flatten and muffle the tom's. Just some info from your 52 year old drumming subscriber.
Thank you so much! This was awesome! I like how you took us step by step through the entire process and just didn’t say “here are the voices” which made this SO helpful!
THAT WAS THE GREATEST VIDEO I'VE EVER WATCHED IN MY LIFE! Thank you so much! Do you know what would be extra sweet? If you played drums over Photograph and let us hear it in the context of a Def Leppard song
Well I don't want to get flagged for copyright, which is why I recorded my own 'def leppard-ish' song. I do think I'm going to do a longer version of that though too :) Thanks again for the suggestion.
@@demonicsweaters I don't know much about copyright but I do see a lot of people that sing covers, play an instrument over a song, etc. Even if you played 30 seconds of it and played the drums that would still be awesome. At any rate, thanks for the great video. My drums come today!
Finally got my kit yesterday! Spent a few hours setting it up last night and trying things out. Going to spend a lot more time today and also play with the cymbals as you show in your cymbal video. One question....it seems like the overall volume of the module just isn't that loud. I realize I can adjust volumes for each sound but I'm just talkin when I have my plug headphones plugged in I feel like when it's turned up to "11" it should be blasting my ears out but it's not. I'm finding I have to lower the volume on my music that I'm playing to in order to hear myself well enough. Am I daft?
No you're right, the headphone jack isn't super loud. I think they do that on purpose so kids don't hurt their ears. I use my headphones on my audio interface and plug the module into that, so I can blast my ears out as much as I want.
I have a request! Would love to set what settings you would tweak for drums for a country band. And I'm actually talking more of like the new country that's out now. 👍🏻
Hey, thanks for another great video. I have a question I just purchased this set and it arrives Thursday but I did not get an amp is there anything I can use besides headphones? Saw the video you did using GarageBand on your iPhone and that’s what I wanted to do as well but don’t know exactly what to do. Any advice would be great
Well, amp or headphones are basically your two options. I explain how to use it in garageband at ruclips.net/video/gQgUlitz88c/видео.html. You're still going to need headphones regardless.
These insightful vids on making specific styles (or as near as we can get) of kits out of the module are are super helpful, especially for those of us that don't have the extra cash to splash on additional drum programs for good sounds. Keep them coming! Do you have any more in the pipeline, or any tips on where to get some good sounding kits elsewhere that are free?
Hi! Just got my Alesis Nitro Mesh drumkit, my very first e-drum kit. I am new to this and still have plenty to learn. My main concern now is on how to go about getting the sound of the edrums out without listening to it using headphones or earphones? What tools or gadgets do I need to achieve that? Thanks.
Wow that's pretty accurate! Can you please try Ringo's kit (Beatles) some time? He had multiple kits, but I personally like the Sgt. Peppers---Let It Be kit the most.
I have just bought superior drummer 3 to convert my alesis into more realistic sounds, have you ever try it? It's being difficult to configure the hi-hat calibration...
No, I haven't. I like the internal sounds, as well as made my own samples of my acoustic kit to use in Ableton if I want. Here's the video on that ruclips.net/video/QhBqf-FmsBY/видео.html, maybe there'll be something in there I talk about that can help.
@@demonicsweatersthat's a great idea , use it for another percussion instrument like a woodblock. Cowbell. Or maybe even extra cymbal, Also , wondering if it would be possible to list the final settings of each drum and cymbal in the description as a reference point, great video, keep it up.
Wow man. Love the new camera angles you got there Justin. Man if only I had the money I would definitely switch from acoustic drums to electronic and Alesis would be my first choice.
Well, I'd say you're lucky you have somewhere you can play your acoustics. They'll always be my first love. E-kits are cool too, but if I had somewhere I could be loud, I'd definitely be playing acoustics.
@@demonicsweaters Exactly . The sounds you could get from modern electronic drums, drum samples be it vintage or modern . I mean videos like these just solidify my stance on electronic drums. Good job Justin.
I’m loving your videos! I just bought this kit two weeks ago and I’m slowly teaching myself how to play. I’d love if you could do a “Metallica - Black Album” custom kit sound a-like, I reckon you’d have a lot of fun doing it! Many thanks.
Look at all that weight on his curling bar hes given up his secret, I knew that the look with those glasses and shirt was a disguise to hide the fact he's an mma fighter

Can you do a video like this with a country/western setup? I've looked everywhere and can't find one. This video is perfect for a classic rock setup. Keep these videos coming!!
Great Job on the video loved it always learning from you I've got some mp3's and one video so far no mp3 uploaded yet but soon, I'd Love it if you could hear my one video I did and comment on it I would love suggestions to making an ok video from my own recordings. Mine doesn’t sound anything like yours on the same settings what am I doing wrong
Did you buy another dual sensor pad and installed in on tom2? As far as I know the nitro mesh only has sensor for the rim on the snare pad?
Ahhh now i see how to EQ the kit a bit more. I learn a bit more with each video i watch of yours.

If you could do a Mötley Crüe version of this I would gladly appreciate it
How about that Alex Van Halen 1984 sound?

Rick Allen - drummer of Def Leppard
what is the function of that utility?
Hey Justin I love the videos. Could you make one for rage against the machine sound?
What cymbal settings did you end up with?
Yea, I'm going back to Distrokid this weekend as I haven't heard from routenote for over 2 weeks now after uploading. Anyway, enjoying this video!!!
How can you get the rolling drum sounds found on a track like “rockets” or even “make love to the man”
the sound you're referring to is a reversed reverb. The Nitro really can't do it, but you could do it in post during your mix.
I love these drum kit showcases!
How can I get these as .WAV samples for my Roland SPDSX?
I’m sure you could find much better ones out there in a sample pack
@@demonicsweaters I've looked...Nothing. Please share a link if you got one.

Is it possible to install a double bass pedal on the kick drum for this kit?
possible, but not good.
Nah you need the Command Mesh at a minimum for double bass to really work..mines a hybrid with a Strike Pro Kick utilized

You would need an amplifier, something like this reverb.grsm.io/behringeramp
@@demonicsweaters okay, thank you! 😊🤘
Thank you so much! I’m just curious, do you think this would fit well for Mötley Crüe?
I think Tommy Lee had a much more natural sound (albeit with plenty of reverb) but still not nearly as electronic sounding.
