    Fun fact: Swallowtail caterpillars stick out their osmeteria to deter predators, including humans.

    Hmm, when swallowtail caterpillars are grown, they had horns inside them to scare off predators... I like where this is going. That is one smart caterpillar.

    They also look like bird poop when they’re young, there was one on my lemon tree and it scared me because I was removing dead leaves and dirt from the tree and that thing popped out and started moving. :)
