What the hell are you doing to Mrs. Crocombe? I mean really. She is as talented with disguises as she is at running a big kitchen! Also apparently a couple of hundred years old! You go Mrs. Crocombe! My hero!
So, I know of Doctor Who, and how it's a very old show. I've just never been interested in it, but if they did make her the next doctor that'd persuade me to get into it!
@@JpopFanBoy Mrs Crocombe is NOT the Doctor. She's the Doctor's mother, a Time Lady; and is really the only being that the Doctor respects, fears and loves. ( Now, wouldn't that make a bloody good episode!!!!)
What a wonderful way to use the talents of Kathy Hipperson, AKA Mrs. Crocombe. It would be interesting to know the name of the Charles the II, actor also. I have become a fan of all things English Heritage. Most especially, Audley End House, Mrs. Crocombe, she started me on this folklore series, when I recognized her in a different time and space. What a wonderful series, please keep up the excellent work.
I went to this house a few years ago, while we were at the attic i asked the tour guide if they had any ghost and before he answered there was a loud bang in between the walls, then the guide said "some people had some experiences".
Supposedly he was quite handsome. His main paramour, the countess of castlemain (Barbara Palmer) is a favorite of mine, and I've done all types of reading on them.
Brilliant! As a Canadian, I'm fascinated by these stories, as unless studied in post-secondary English history is mostly glossed over. Also, shout out to Mrs. Crocombe for initiating my subscription to the channel!
I found this story interesting. I don’t know that much about Charles II. Also found it interesting that both Charles II and Elizabeth I have stories involving the oak tree and these stories take place before they gained the throne.
Is that the actor who plays John Barker, the groom at Audley End? If so, please do more videos with him, and preferably, more videos on the stables and horses of Audley End!
Been to boscobel 25 years ago - it's right next to Brewood, beautiful place , was there with the siege group- anyone remember a gorgeous english heritage tour guide who used to work there???think she was called louise
So, here we have our favourite cook who has apparently lived many lives throughout the centuries and our favourite stable boy who is probably aiming to do the same. How did I recognise him? Easily enough, it is not difficul to spot such a charming young man...
Excellent video! In the stories of Ragnarok, one man and one woman (“Life” and “Life-Eager”) are sheltered by the World Tree, Yygdrasil, who takes them into itself.
2:58 that expression on Crocombe is the absolute perfect, perfect "can you believe he is mansplaining to me ...AGAIN...about how *I figured out how* to save his life?" discreet look. I am rolling!
Thank you. Kathy Hipperson & Ronald Hutton, health & long life to you. Who is portraying King Charles? Bright blessings, all! 23:03, Monday 3 January 2022
The fact that Kathy Hipperson's face takes up half the thumbnail, and her character spends most of the time starring smugly at the camera is evident that the channel knows what could get them the most views. And there absolutely right MRS CROCOMBE GANG 4EVER
This is very interesting. I don't know if there is a connection but in the backyard of the house I grew up in (built in 1695) in Massachusetts, we had a huge and very old oak tree and my grandmother called it Charles's oak because supposedly someone had obtained an acorn from a tree that someone named Charles had hid in once and planted it there. One of my ancestors supposedly but I don't know which one. The tree is estimated to be around 300 years old which sounds about right but until now I never knew who that Charles was and now I wonder if my grandmother meant King Charles. The ancestor who built the house had an Irish name but as far as I knew all my ancestors on that side of the family were English.
3:55 -- OK. I am kind of confused on Prof. Hutton's narrative. What exactly was destroyed at the battle? Was it the original Boscobel House, was it the original Oak tree that hid King Charles, or is it some other royal mansion that he is referring to?
The real moral of the story is if you want a job done right, you let Mrs. Crocombe do it.
YES I CANT AGREE MORE
True.
😂😂😂
😄😄😄😄😅
Haha..nice
Mrs Crocombe is a time traveller
I was about to say that
Jacob Robson
I bet her icebox is a Tardis 😄
Hahaha Ya.... ha👍👩🍳she is a School Teacher for real...
*gasps* she's a time lord!!!
Now we know how she managed to send the food parcel to Jon Townsend in the 18th century!
What the hell are you doing to Mrs. Crocombe? I mean really. She is as talented with disguises as she is at running a big kitchen! Also apparently a couple of hundred years old! You go Mrs. Crocombe! My hero!
It's because she's also a saint. 😁 No wonder. But maybe a miracle? 😉
She's a superhero.
That woman is a ninja!
Mrs Cromcombe is the fourteenth Doctor, change my mind.
Pierre C FACTSSS
Pierre C I posted something VERY similar 🤣
Would so love to see that!
So, I know of Doctor Who, and how it's a very old show. I've just never been interested in it, but if they did make her the next doctor that'd persuade me to get into it!
The lack of aliens in her cooking show might be an indicator that she isn't 😂
Is Mrs Crocombe some sort of undying vampire that feeds solely of Victorian etiquette and cooking??
Ive never seen Mrs. Crocombe and The Doctor in the same place at the same time, js.
@@JpopFanBoy Mrs Crocombe is NOT the Doctor.

I love how all of us are flipping out over Mrs. Crocombe. Her and Professor Hutton together in a video? English Heritage, you spoil us!
Came here to say that!!!
Excellent! Mrs. Crocombe to the rescue haha! Thanks guys💜🇬🇧🤘
Managing a kitchen and rescuing kings? Goodness, is there anything Mrs. Crocombe can't do?
Ariella Kahan-Harth Nope.
Mrs. Crocombe is living her best life!

Trust in Mrs Crocombe
My favorite video yet! That look as Charles "kingsplains" the story SHE orchestrated...priceless!

Wow Mrs Crocombe can time travel!!!
King Charles is really cute !

He had a great profile, but his dad looked better head-on.
Mrs Crocombe AND Prof Hutton!! What a great day to be off work!!
Mrs. Crocombe's talents are endless!
Thank you English Heritage for a different type of video. I'd love more of these type of stories!
We're glad you enjoyed it! Look out for the next episode in this series in September.
Mrs. Crocombe's bemused expression when Charles II is retelling the story is a whole mood! Fave monarch and favorite time traveller and chef Mrs. C! ❤
Rhyming "unpleasant" with "peasant"... A stroke of pure genius...
Anyone else thinking that Mrs. Crocombe might be a time lord now?
Professor Hutton is always great in a video! Very nice vignette of this story!

Love this actress so much and love that this rhymes
Mrs. Crocombe is like Blackadder.
Bob Hunkins, And now I have a mental image of her chasing Blackadder out of her kitchen with a rolling pin. 😆
@@BeagleLove13 It's because Baldrick stole all the turnips she had been planning to prepare for the Braybrookes' dinner!

This channel is one of the best!!! I love it SO much! Hugs from a portuguese!
This was actually a very interesting story, thanks!👍✨
My question is, what did Mrs Crocombe feed the King?
I can only surmise that Mrs. C is a companion to a man in a funny blue box, keeping history as it ought to be!
We are here for Mrs

I observe everyone recognized Kathy Hipperson was portraying the woman who gave aid to King Charles 😊👍

Trust Mrs. Crocombe to provide her king with a measure of strong drink for such a strenuous adventure.

Good question. The 'destruction' refers to Charles' army, who were defeated by Cromwell's Parliamentarians.
Mrs. Crocombe saving asses since the victorian times.
I am convinced Mrs. Crocombe is a Time Lady!
Someone at this channel has been watching Drunk History lol.
Okay, but her look at the end made me ugly laugh. And Charles is just like "Oh let me just keep telling this story".
1:36 His face: Noooooo NOT the hair!!!!!!!!
For anyone interested the podcast Noble Blood did an episode on Charles II and the oak!
