The real moral of the story is if you want a job done right, you let Mrs. Crocombe do it.
YES I CANT AGREE MORE
True.
😂😂😂
😄😄😄😄😅
Haha..nice
For this recipe you will need: King Charles II...
FranzLudwig Perfect! I can hear her say that in my head.
FranzLudwig
A sturdy oak
@@ragnkja A pinch of royal hair, oh, quite a big pinch😂
FranzLudwig
A trusty pair of shears,
And, some walnut oil.
LMAO
Mrs Cromcombe is the fourteenth Doctor, change my mind.
Pierre C FACTSSS
Pierre C I posted something VERY similar 🤣
Would so love to see that!
So, I know of Doctor Who, and how it's a very old show. I've just never been interested in it, but if they did make her the next doctor that'd persuade me to get into it!
The lack of aliens in her cooking show might be an indicator that she isn't 😂
Mrs Crocombe is a time traveller
I was about to say that
Jacob Robson
I bet her icebox is a Tardis 😄
Hahaha Ya.... ha👍👩🍳she is a School Teacher for real...
*gasps* she's a time lord!!!
Now we know how she managed to send the food parcel to Jon Townsend in the 18th century!
Is Mrs Crocombe some sort of undying vampire that feeds solely of Victorian etiquette and cooking??
Ive never seen Mrs. Crocombe and The Doctor in the same place at the same time, js.
@@JpopFanBoy Mrs Crocombe is NOT the Doctor.
She's the Doctor's mother, a Time Lady; and is really the only being that the Doctor respects, fears and loves.
( Now, wouldn't that make a bloody good episode!!!!)
shes a time traveler
What the hell are you doing to Mrs. Crocombe? I mean really. She is as talented with disguises as she is at running a big kitchen! Also apparently a couple of hundred years old! You go Mrs. Crocombe! My hero!
It's because she's also a saint. 😁 No wonder. But maybe a miracle? 😉
She's a superhero.
That woman is a ninja!
I’m a simple peasant. I see Mrs. Crocombe, and I click.
Managing a kitchen and rescuing kings? Goodness, is there anything Mrs. Crocombe can't do?
Ariella Kahan-Harth Nope.
Mrs. Crocombe is living her best life!
Let's not forget she can also turn snakes into stone
Lol
I love how all of us are flipping out over Mrs. Crocombe. Her and Professor Hutton together in a video? English Heritage, you spoil us!
Came here to say that!!!
Excellent! Mrs. Crocombe to the rescue haha! Thanks guys💜🇬🇧🤘
I went to this house a few years ago, while we were at the attic i asked the tour guide if they had any ghost and before he answered there was a loud bang in between the walls, then the guide said "some people had some experiences".
Cecilia Perez
Someone was in the hiding place, listening in on your conversation! 😲
What a wonderful way to use the talents of Kathy Hipperson, AKA Mrs. Crocombe. It would be interesting to know the name of the Charles the II, actor also. I have become a fan of all things English Heritage. Most especially, Audley End House, Mrs. Crocombe, she started me on this folklore series, when I recognized her in a different time and space. What a wonderful series, please keep up the excellent work.
"Trust the natural world when civilization lets you down."
Trust in Mrs Crocombe
Wow Mrs Crocombe can time travel!!!
My favorite video yet! That look as Charles "kingsplains" the story SHE orchestrated...priceless!
Anyone else thinking that Mrs. Crocombe might be a time lord now?
Thank you English Heritage for a different type of video. I'd love more of these type of stories!
We're glad you enjoyed it! Look out for the next episode in this series in September.
Mrs Crocombe AND Prof Hutton!! What a great day to be off work!!
Rhyming "unpleasant" with "peasant"... A stroke of pure genius...
King Charles is really cute !
Supposedly he was quite handsome. His main paramour, the countess of castlemain (Barbara Palmer) is a favorite of mine, and I've done all types of reading on them.
He had a great profile, but his dad looked better head-on.
Mrs. Crocombe's talents are endless!
Mrs. Crocombe's bemused expression when Charles II is retelling the story is a whole mood! Fave monarch and favorite time traveller and chef Mrs. C! ❤
I know this isn't supposed to be Mrs crocombe but also it is and now I am imagining her to be an immortal.
Mrs. Crocombe!!!
Mrs. Crocombe is like Blackadder.
Bob Hunkins, And now I have a mental image of her chasing Blackadder out of her kitchen with a rolling pin. 😆
@@caroltomko9261 It's because Baldrick stole all the turnips she had been planning to prepare for the Braybrookes' dinner!
I found this story interesting. I don’t know that much about Charles II. Also found it interesting that both Charles II and Elizabeth I have stories involving the oak tree and these stories take place before they gained the throne.
Love this actress so much and love that this rhymes
Been to boscobel 25 years ago - it's right next to Brewood, beautiful place , was there with the siege group- anyone remember a gorgeous english heritage tour guide who used to work there???think she was called louise
Yay, Mrs. Crocombe. Our hero through the ages.
Brilliant! As a Canadian, I'm fascinated by these stories, as unless studied in post-secondary English history is mostly glossed over. Also, shout out to Mrs. Crocombe for initiating my subscription to the channel!
Professor Hutton is always great in a video! Very nice vignette of this story!
Is that the actor who plays John Barker, the groom at Audley End? If so, please do more videos with him, and preferably, more videos on the stables and horses of Audley End!
It is! Well spotted, Alec. Thank you for your suggestions, we'll keep those in mind.
This is a wonderful story! I greatly enjoyed it!
We're glad to hear it! Stay tuned for the next episode in September...
I want another recipe from Mrs crocombe😭 miss her badly😭
Love Professor Hutton, he is much appreciate expertise and insight. Seen many of the documentaries he is in too. So cool thats hes on this channel.
As a filipino,I really love watching mrs.crocumbe! I don't know why but she's soo interesting to watch
So, here we have our favourite cook who has apparently lived many lives throughout the centuries and our favourite stable boy who is probably aiming to do the same.
How did I recognise him? Easily enough, it is not difficul to spot such a charming young man...
Read favourite cock. Got somewhat confused. Too early or not enough tea yet.
in this house we love and cherish Kathy Hipperson and her talent.
My question is, what did Mrs Crocombe feed the King?
Mrs. Crocombe is a time traveler!! I bet she tricked all of us with her ice cream maker/ time machine
We are here for Mrs
CROCOMBE
I can only surmise that Mrs. C is a companion to a man in a funny blue box, keeping history as it ought to be!
Charles II's escape to France could be an awesome historical film if done right. :D
This was actually a very interesting story, thanks!👍✨
I observe everyone recognized Kathy Hipperson was portraying the woman who gave aid to King Charles 😊👍

Thanks for this interesting story! I like this kind of historical video! And Mrs. Crocombe is perfect as usually))))
Absolutely loving the Tales of English Folklore series, really good!
We're glad to hear it! Stay tuned for the next episode soon...
I bet all off this u must be talking about Ms. Crocombe cameo
You have to love Kathy Hipperson!!!
Not gonna lie, I was going to scroll past this video until I saw Mrs. Crocombe 💕😂
Same
This channel is one of the best!!! I love it SO much! Hugs from a portuguese!
1:15...yeah, that’s how I often feel about my outfits as well...😂
Good on your ancestor Ms. Kathy, saving Charles II from his father's fate😉
In Mrs. Crocombe’s voice: To look like a peasant you will need...
Funny I always took Mrs Crocombe for a Roundhead.
Mrs. Crocombe can be anybody she wants, eh?
My favorite British king!
Peasant Charles looks like he buys his groceries at whole foods
Great one! I am so enjoying these so much!
I really enjoy this kind of videos!
Wonderful poem!
I really enjoy these videos. I suspect that they require a lot of work to produce but they are so worth it. Many thanks!
Lovely, thank you!
Ahh, my favorite reenactment actress, glad to see you, lady!
For this recipe you will need. 1 King, 1 sheep shears, stuff to turn skin brown, an oak tree.
This was wonderful, I’m obsessed with Ms. Hipperson
That thumbnail got me
1:36 His face: Noooooo NOT the hair!!!!!!!!
Mrs Crocombe is the Doctor isn't she?
According to this folklore, she's a priest.
Excellent video!
In the stories of Ragnarok, one man and one woman (“Life” and “Life-Eager”) are sheltered by the World Tree, Yygdrasil, who takes them into itself.
Thank you
Really interesting story and the way it was told was absolutely perfect !
We're glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for Episode 5 in September.
@@EnglishHeritage ❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite monarchs
Oh I don’t know....I’m pretty jazzed to hear from Professor Ronald Hutton! Luv this guy!👏
Interesting story!
Learned something new today :)
Someone at this channel has been watching Drunk History lol.
Wow! What a story! Glad you all had fun acting out your🎭 parts well done, proud you must be👍
🌳👨🌾👩🍳💗💐🌳🍃🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🏰
We love you Mrs Crocombe.
Mrs. Crocombe saving asses since the victorian times.
Mrs. Crocombe ❤️
Big up Mrs Crocombe 🤟🏾💪🏾
The fact that Kathy Hipperson's face takes up half the thumbnail, and her character spends most of the time starring smugly at the camera is evident that the channel knows what could get them the most views.
And there absolutely right
MRS CROCOMBE GANG 4EVER
Mrs.crocombe what are u doing? U have Lady Braybooks cooking to do!
I am convinced Mrs. Crocombe is a Time Lady!
Mrs. Crocombe is the real deal!
Great account.
Okay, but her look at the end made me ugly laugh. And Charles is just like "Oh let me just keep telling this story".
Daaaang that scissors tho! Trimming my hair would be quicker if i use those😂
Was that our favorite Audly End house cook helping King Charles II escape??
For anyone interested the podcast Noble Blood did an episode on Charles II and the oak!
Reminds me of peabody and sherman adventures from rocky and bullwinkles show.
mrs. crocombe's badass look at the end like 'yh bitch thats right IM EVRYWHERE'
This is very interesting. I don't know if there is a connection but in the backyard of the house I grew up in (built in 1695) in Massachusetts, we had a huge and very old oak tree and my grandmother called it Charles's oak because supposedly someone had obtained an acorn from a tree that someone named Charles had hid in once and planted it there. One of my ancestors supposedly but I don't know which one. The tree is estimated to be around 300 years old which sounds about right but until now I never knew who that Charles was and now I wonder if my grandmother meant King Charles. The ancestor who built the house had an Irish name but as far as I knew all my ancestors on that side of the family were English.
Is that a Townsend's costrel?
Omg, I think it is, too funny! Good catch!!
time-traveling Mrs. Crocombe to the rescue!
Wow Mrs. Crocombe is also great at disguising other people
Mrs. Crocombe's face at the end of the video is like "Gurrrrrl, I was there bitch."
Didnt expect a crossover of Mrs crocombe and King Charles ll
Trust Mrs. Crocombe to provide her king with a measure of strong drink for such a strenuous adventure.
Not gonna lie. With that thumbnail, I thought Mrs. Crocombe will be having a rap battle with an english victorian dude
