Thanks for the honest review. Fitting is the hardest part of seeing and I think everyone struggles with it.

some patterns are easier than others thats for sure, and i do agree that fitting is a ever evolving struggle of sewing. Some times I have to take a step back and come back to it later. Thats the story with the Aster dress. About to make toile number 2 this weekend, wish me good luck.

I have all but a couple of the vintage ones and the Burda 😅…. Today I went on a hunt for more patterns to sew another Anthropology top. The Burda were on sale today I did pick up a top and 2 Vogue patterns! 🤪 Can’t wait to see your designer video I love those! 🥰

Alex, I love seeing the match-up of sewing patterns to read to wear fashions. I do hope you can draft a pattern for that jean pocket purse I would really like to see that. Alex, did you get to be an ambassador for one of the sewing machine companies? I think you mentioned you hoped to work with the Bernina company.

Hi Mary, I did not :( it’s ok. I will try again next year! Isnt that jean pocket purse beautiful? I could really use something like that as I rather not carry a purse since I usually just carry keys, phone and my small wallet.

Alex, this was a very enjoyable video. I love that 1964 pattern. What a treasure!

All of the patterns are very pretty. I love the V9103. I normally do not like V necks because they come down too low, but this one looks beautiful.

I L❤ve, L❤ve, L❤VE all those Vogue patterns! I've recently bought over 25 patterns from the 2 recent Joann's pattern sales, and had told myself "this is enough"! But NOT after seeing these! I hope my local Joann's stores the older Vogue patterns in the top and bottom drawers like your store does! Going to check it out..... ❤❤ Wonderful video today!

Pull up a chair and take your time. Bring your phone and really look at those patterns especially the older ones. There are some good older patterns there.

@@MassonLifestyle I WILL! I usually take a picture of the pattern cover, which also helps me remember what I've bought. Thanks again!

I have a couple of vintage patterns. Can you please do a video where you take an old pattern and make a sloper? The acid from my old pattern pieces burned my fingers 😩 should I wear gloves?

I use my sloper to take details from the vintage pattern to fit me. In the case of the pattern in this video I have a sloper of the bodice and the skirt... now I just need to use the detail in the back so it fits me. First thing first is to make yourself a sloper and then use that to take the details from the vintage pattern to fit you. Thats the only reason why I use a sloper. you can also enlarge (which is what I would have to do) the vintage pattern but that is a whole can of worms worth of adjustments. And I've never heard of old vintage patterns giving you burns (watch out for that), but yes you may want to wear gloves when handling that stuff.

I just realized I wrote that incredibly wrong. Yes!! What I am trying to say is can you please make a short video of how to use a sloper on a vintage pattern? The one I want to make for my daughter is 2293 Butterick view C. It is 13 pieces and you already know, its extremely fragile. I don't know how to reconstruct it. The way you explain is amazing and I really enjoy your videos. I also made the Vogue Cape that you had posted for my daughter with a Barbie fabric and hot pink lining. Turned out beautiful.

@@ninasaucedo7982 super fragile! I was literally opening the instructions and they kept ripping 😬, I should do a video on it. Just have to get thru a few more makes a video on the Aster Dress and I think this would be a great video to talk about how to use a sloper to make a vintage pattern.

I love vintage patterns. I can't deal with any strange undergarments. The best I would do is remove a normal bra strap and put a clear strap on.. if that's not enough, I would avoid it.
