    that knife was on sale at amazon for 28 dollars back in June I believe...I'm pretty sure that's when I bought mine. Im happy with it. The cold steel holdout is the Cadillac of the big boys, but I carry my Luzon often. It's best to carry a smaller knife as well. You can't always whip out the big boy when you need to cut a piece of string. I'm going to get the 4 inch version too. It's good knife in my opinion.

      Awesome thanks for your input! I did a full vid on the counter point XL which is somewhat similar to the holdout right? Kind of folding dagger style knife but yes I love the Luzon. Thanks for watching!

      @@BladeBench They are significantly different. I have the counter point and to me it look more like a knife a biker would carry. I wasn't too sure I'd like the hold out, but once I had it in my hand all that changed. I like having a flat grind because it works really well in the kitchen and the shape of the blade works really well for slicing. To me it looks like what an assassin in the movies should carry. It would definitely get someone's attention. Great steel too. S35VN steel, and for hard steel it sharpens really well.

    I love that it open by itself very easy like an Emmerson. I glued mouse grip tape on the safety switch so its really easy to move it both directions.
    I also put that grip tape on the handle and on the spine, where the thumb rest.

    LOVE the look of that knife but, I've had issue with it's liner lock. Medium to light use "only"! The lock might fail, even with the safety on... I know, it pissed me off too and I bought TWO of them!

    • @BladeBench
      @BladeBench  Месяц назад +1

      Oh no really? What kind of issues? Just failing and folding on you? That sucks, thankfully that hasn’t happened to me! Thanks for watching!

    • @jorgefernandez6407
      @jorgefernandez6407 Месяц назад +1

      Well, I've had over travel issues with the liner lock to the point where I've had to jam a key in the lock in order for it to release AND, doing spine taps, (taps, not wacks) the lock has failed on me, even with the safety on! I have two of them, and both I've had replaced (Amazon is great for that) but, I pretty much know what to expect if I heavily use the knife... I still like em though.

      Oh no that sucks! Someone else said that too. Thankfully hasn’t happened to me. For me I don’t do much stabby stuff and mostly cutting/slashing type of things so I’ll be careful. Thanks for watching!

      @@BladeBench it's a shame because it's a beautiful design. However a quick table test with the liner lock shows how weak it is.

      @@genuinelyconcerned3504that's why they put the second lock to hold the liner in place.

    • @genuinelyconcerned3504
      @genuinelyconcerned3504 Месяц назад +1

      @@rtz549 it doesn't work. Trust me, put both locks on and hit the back of the knife against a table. It will most likely fail just like mine. It's incredibly weak even for a liner lock.
