The mountains have a lot more to say than the jarring and discordant music that clashes with the meditative experience of being among them. Fortunately, I last hiked Garfield in peaceful silence back in the early 90s. But hats off to you for getting out there and showing the sights. Maybe I am getting old...
No but Dexter and I did run into a young, aggressive bull moose on this Garfield hike on our way down! Luckily it didn't charge and we ran all the way back to the trailhead 😅
I've watched 2 of your videos so far and I really enjoy the footage you show of the trail itself, the drone footage and the information you provide in between. You and ChrisGoesOutdoors have the best videos of hikes in the area. Gets me looking forward to my summer vacation back home.
Thanks so much for the feedback and for the kind words, Justin! I love hearing from viewers and I'm glad that you are finding value in my videos. I have lots of new footage that I am in the process of editing, so new content will be out soon. And I agree, Chris has awesome videos too! I recommend checking out Andrew Drummond as well. His videos are 👌
Thanks for the recommending the Andrew Drummond videos. I've watched a few. I grew up in the area and the Whites and VT are like a second home to me. I moved to NJ a few years with my wife who grew up here. We make trips back to New England in the Summer and Christmas time. Last year, my 4-year old son was asking to hike a mountain so we did West Rattlesnake which was easy enough and short enough for him to handle. He loved it and was super proud of himself. We might do that again this year or maybe try Mt. Willard or Arethuesa Falls. Keeping it easy and short for him and for me with my other son on my back. When they get older we'll do Franconia Ridge.
Excellent! There are lots of great hikes in The Whites that are shorter and suitable for children. It sounds like you know of some already. I actually went to college in NJ and lived in Morristown, NJ for a couple of years after graduation. Delaware Water Gap is a great area to hike!
Thanks so much, I've been on a hiatus for a bit since my wife and I have been house hunting, but I plan to start uploading more content soon. Enjoy the hike, the views are breathtaking!
@@GettsWild I'm so glad you're planning on doing more! I just discovered this channel last night and I'm absolutely thrilled with what I've seen so far! I'm about to start my 4000-footer journey and your content is really helpful. I can tell you're extremely passionate about these mountains, and believe me dude, I understand it. Can't wait to see what else you do!
🌲🌲🌲 Excellent! Love your mountain identification ... many folks reach the summit and wonder what mountains are still waiting to be climbed. 🌲🌲🌲 Good research, nice history lesson. 🌲🌲🌲 THANKS FOR SHARING ... beautiful video! No commercial, monetized?
Thanks for the feedback, Shelley! I love hearing from fellow hikers. I am making these videos first and foremost for hikers so that they can get a sense of each mountain before climbing. I am simply trying to make videos that I wish existed when I started doing the 48 a couple of years ago. And no, I may monetize in the future but right now I am just enjoying making the videos 🙂
Your videos are truly "SOME OF THE BEST" ... fun to watch, no awkwardness at all ... they flow great from thought to thought, entertaining and informative. I wish they had been available when I was doing my 48. Adventure is great but preparedness is most important to me. I don't ever want to be a burden to Search & Rescue ... trail knowledge = one more safety factor. 🌲🌲🌲 #HikeOn
Great video and history lessons. FYI, The AT in the Whites do NOT believe in switchbacks. Great job of labeling mountains. What software do you use for your videos?
Thank you so much! The original trailblazers in New England definitely did not believe in switchbacks!! 🤣 Thanks a lot for watching. I use Adobe Premiere Pro 🤙🏼
Jacob thank you very much, I love making these videos and I'm glad people are finding value in them! I appreciate the comment and hope you enjoy my future videos as well 👍

Just hiked this yesterday as my first 4k footer. great vid, shows the trail better than my pictures I managed to capture as a struggling fat guy.
have you ever come across a bear on your travels?

Another great video!! Love the views!!!
Thanks, hard to beat the views on Mt. Garfield!
I really enjoy Getz Wild videos. I’m sad there aren’t more.
Thanks for the kind words, Evelyn! There may be more videos in store for the future!
@@GettsWild Sure hope so! Hiking in the Whites this July! 😁
@@GettsWild I second that. These videos are so well done. Last one was 3 years ago and I’m wondering why you stopped. So good!

Really nice job! Probably the best White Mountain videos/coverage I've seen to date. Keep up the great work!
