My favorite episode of Adam 12 is "The Search" when Malloy loses control of his patrol car while chasing a suspect and crashes into the woods. While Malloy is slowly dying Reed refuses to give up. When Reed finally finds him Malloy says that's my partner. Best episode ever.
From what I recall, the show was set to go for the 1975-76 season but it was decided to stop and put it into syndication based on the popular ratings it had, McCord was bummed as I am sure a lot of other fans, I could be wrong but that's how I heard it ended. The last two episodes were about Reed earning the medal of valor for saving Malloy.
I watch it everyday..records every episode automatically..yes that show should have been on many more years.... it has more of an old timey classic feel in the earlier years..started in 68 ..wish it had started in 63 or thereabouts and run til at least 78-9..great show..love the characters they portray good cops in a time when things were different..a time when things were modern but not too modern...the 60s and 70s the perfect era ,the best music, cars ...and people. When people were real. Miss those days, and Malloy and Reed.

Quite literally 2 of the finest men God ever created... and no wonder he made sure they met and became friends. It is amazing how many lives they touched just thru their simple goodness. This was and remains my favorite TV show of all time.
I looked both up on Wikipedia. I was so impressed to see that both of these fine men married early in their careers. And they stayed married......no divorces...... through all these years. What an incredible example that is. ❤❤❤

It's wonderful for a fellow actor to give tribute to another actor with whom he worked on a long lived show. These are great memories Mr. McCord is giving. As a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s, I was introduced to Adam 12 reruns. Years later as a soldier in the Army Military Police corps in the 90s I rediscovered the show on TV Land on cable. I watched the show again in my barracks room. What a wonderful thing it was for me to find myself actually doing the same kind of work that my old tv police heroes were doing. In retrospect I really wish I went into law enforcement in civil life. In these days of attacks on Police, much like in the late sixties, we need to rededicate our respect and devotion to law enforcement. Thank you very much for this video. Martin Milner was a good comedic actor and always believable in drama. Adam 12 is still being shown. It was terrific seeing and listening to Kent McCord paying tribute to his best friend and partner. Thanks, again.
What a class act .. Jim Reed loved Pete Malloy on TV .. and Kent loved Marty like a big brother .. two great men .. All American Legends .. Marty was a wonderful man .. God Bless You Pete ..
Thank you, Kent McCord, aka Officer Jim Reed, for this awesome tribute to your partner and friend, Martin Milner. I watch and also tape every episode. You tackled a lot of bad guys, Kent!! Prayers to all who knew Martin Milner personally and to all his fans. 🚔💙
Mr McCord couldn't list all of Martin Milner's total films but 3 more l think worthy of mention are Operation Pacific, again with John Wayne, Sweet Smell Of Success, with Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis, Compulsion with Orson Welles, also the Golden Turkey award winner and cult classic Valley Of The Dolls. He certainly had a career to be proud of.
What a great cop show this is. I just love Milton Milner as Pete Malloy and Kent Mc Cord as Jim Reed. Two great police officers doing a heck of an awsome job. I often wonder what kind of husbands and fathers they were. I am sure they carried their personal traits to their characters in Adam 12.
@@neridaclaudio2542 Their personal lives must have been just as upstanding as their Adam 12 characters. Martin Milner married his only wife in 1957, they had 4 kids, & still married at time of his death. Kent McCord married his high school sweetheart when he was 20 years old in 1962, they are still married & have 3 daughters. Never heard any type of Hollywood scandal for either one.
Two of the most handsome men and best actors ever. I grew up watching them and we were lucky back then to have such great role models for young people. They don't make actors or shows or men like Marty and Kent anymore. Kent did a wonderful job with his eulogy. R.I.P.Marty.♥️ Take care, Kent and be well. Thank you both.
I get a real feeling on shows from yesteryear, stars who worked together really cared about one another and about the show they were on. Today it's all about the MONEY $$$ !! Stars could care less about one another and everyone feels interchangeable and replaceable. And in the end, money changes everything ! Another sad sign of the times we're in. A very heartfelt tribute here !
It was a great show! I watched it as a kid. Adam-12 and Dragnet. I ended up becoming a Police Officer, a job I did for 40 years. I still watch Adam-12.
Today on ME TV Adam 12 begins with S1 E 1. One TV greatest shows with an amazing cast. Marty was an amazing performer Kent’s amazing resume speaks volumes of his lifelong amazing performances and work. May Marty be on his new Journey having fun and patrolling Heaven.
Adam-12 still shows on Optimum every day and I record every episode. I just watched the last episode, followed by the very first episode a day apart. I started watching Adam-12 when it was brand new. That led to a 38 year career as a LEO, and I'm still avidly watching Adam-12 in retirement. RIP Marty Milner. You are missed.
I met Mr. McCord a few years ago, and he was very friendly and pleasant. I was also Facebook friends with Mr. Milner. One-ADAM-12, End Of Watch. KMA-367.
We do not forget. Watch those old shows, and you see and feel the connection between Officers Reed and Malloy. Those guys genuinely liked each other and they didn't like the bad guys much. Also: In the extreme, they always had each other's back.
I'm very pleased to have seen this tribute. Wonderfully done by Kent McCord. Loved the show as a little boy. Still can catch the show on TV..Thank God.
As a huge childhood fan of Adam 12, thanks for sharing this inside view of a wonderful and touching eulogy for Marty Milner. I soon also became an Emergency! Fan and spent 43 years as a Colorado Firefighter. Long live both shows! 👍
Still hard to believe that Martin is gone from this earth. But his spirit will live on among those who knew and loved him. Such a wonderful man - Kent did a nice job remembering him in such a loving way. Adam-12 is still teaching us to this day. Rest in peace Mr. Malloy.
We didn't know him. There was no way to really know him. Milner was an actor -- but he created no real-life scandals and we now look at his career with affection. Same with Kent McCord. Two guys who were not cops but played cops. They both stayed out of Hollywood scandal. Good on 'em. It means if we looked up to them as upright, forthright TV cops, we now can say with certainty -- we were not duped.
My husband was a new police officer in Chicago in 1965. He worked the Democratic Convention and the riots following Martin Luther King’s assassination. I enjoyed the show very much.
I can't add much to the wonderful comments I'm reading. Love these guys, always did. Still watching the show and love catching their prior appearances I'd never known having been so young. We all lose a part of ourselves upon such news.....
Me and my brother met Mr. Milner at the Fred Hall sports fishing show at Long Beach, Ca. back in the late 1990's. My brother got a pitcher with him and got his autograph too. What a grate guy. We listen to him on a fishing radio show called Let's Talk Hook Up. We were very sadden when he past away. Rest In Peace Marty. Fish On.
When I was growing up as a kid in Hollywood I used to always come across location filming for Adam-12, Baretta, Starsky and Hutch. Adam-12 was the first one I saw on location. I still watch the reruns and can always tell where they are. They actually do a good job with continuity when they show them inside the car and then show the car from the outside. You see the same buildings in both views.
S B I lived in the same North Hollywood neighborhood as Kent McCord and his family. They used to come to the Jack In The Box I worked at on Laurel Canyon. Nice man to a star struck teenager. I’ve been a police officer for over 30 years.
What a lovely testament to Marty Milner and his career from his close friend, Kent McCord. I’m too young to remember MM’s pre-Adam 12 work (except for the occasional Route 66 rerun or movie on a streaming service) but Adam 12, along with Emergency!, shaped my earliest views of what the ideal first responders should be. I tend not to get stuck in nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake (there’s no such thing as “the good ol’ days”), but I’m currently in an Adam-12 rewatch and am impressed by how well it holds up as entertainment and as a look inside police work in the trenches. Most law enforcement procedurals focus more on detectives than on the uniformed officers, which makes what Jack Webb, Robert Cinader, Martin and Kent (and many others) created all the more memorable and important. Plus, the relationship between Malloy-Reed/Milner-McCord defined TV partnerships. (Only DeSoto-Gage/Tighe-Mantooth from Emergency! -another Webb-Cinader creation-matches it.) RIP Martin Milner.
I met both Kent McCord and Martin Milner as a 9 year old kid at a car show with THE REAL ADAM-12! I loved that show and idolized both men and wanted to be an LAPD officer... I decided on the Fire Service instead. RIP Mr Milner
“To Protect and to Serve” I was just a toddler, but I remember the whole family gathering to watch Adam-12. What made it such a great show? The casting was PERFECT. The events were realistic and dramatic. McCoy and Reid were in command…of themselves first. Discernment, respect, strength (both were very athletic), and the dialogue!!! I remember McCoy arresting a woman once and her telling him that a lady should NEVER be treated like that. He agreed! 😂 My children have learned to respect police, firemen, military, etc. And they’ve done so because they realize that the words on the door are true! “To Protect and to Serve” Adam-12, and Jack Webb’s other shows, were a window to watch my heroes. And my children, over 50 years later, feel the same about those shows, and about the real people they represent! God Bless the ones who protect and serve us!
I still watch Adam12 even on my Apple TV as i have the first season. Sad the rest of the seasons are not on iTunes but honestly Kent and Martin were a class act and this tribute is really good. RIP Martin Milner
I grew up two blocks from RAMPART DIVISION Police Station, Temple Avenue and Benton Way. I remember watching my friends houses being demolished to make room for the station. We would watch the TV crews filming some exterior scenes and watching the patrol cars rolling out. A couple times, Milner and McCord were out on the sidewalk. We ran accross the street to get their autographs and shake their hands. That was a big thing to us.
They were the best team ever!! I saw them in Boston sometime ago and I wanted to talk to them but decided not to. I regretted that, but I knew who they were and I did not want to attract attention. I would have recommended Durgin Park for lunch. Never happened. There will never be another Pete Malloy and Jim Reed. Steven M. Fanale
Robert Sleeth Apparently, Kent and Marty fought hard for a long time for Adam-12 to be released on home video, and to be included on episode commentaries or interview features. Universal-Shout Factory finally did issue the series on DVD, but they stupidly and inexplicably left Marty and Kent out of the project. (Universal similarly ignored Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe when they finally released Emergency! on DVD.) What a lost opportunity to have on record Marty’s own voice sharing his thoughts and memories on the most important work of his career.
Jean Gilliland There’s a lot of content Shout! misses out on, on many of their releases. It’s a shame that 50s-70s tv series/films don’t have a third of the bonus content other releases do on dvd/blu-ray.

Thank you very much for this video. Martin Milner was a good comedic actor and always believable in drama. Adam 12 is still being shown. It was terrific seeing and listening to Kent McCord paying tribute to his best friend and partner. Thanks, again.
Last I watched Adam 12 was ending 2015. Then it was never shown. Do you know any channels that still might show it?

What a class act .. Jim Reed loved Pete Malloy on TV .. and Kent loved Marty like a big brother .. two great men .. All American Legends .. Marty was a wonderful man .. God Bless You Pete ..
My grandson wears Paw Patrol training pants. I nicknamed the police dog Officer Malloy.
What a beautiful heartfelt tribute to his brother in blue and his dear friend.
May he RIP...He will b missed....
Great tribute!, Martin Milner and Kent McCord will always be my favorite actor even if they did. REST IN PEACE 5 years later.
What a tribute to Martin and I also grew up with Emergency,Dragnet, and Adam 12.A great time!
He mentioned Operation Pacfic.
He mentioned Sweet Smell Of Success & Operation Pacific at approximately 2:54.
How great is it that Kent McCord can tell you how much impact this show had a half century ago....
Correction on McCord family....2 daughters & 1 son.
Martin Milner and Kent MCCord were the best and I watch them everyday
Two of the most handsome men and best actors ever. I grew up watching them and we were lucky back then to have such great role models for young people. They don't make actors or shows or men like Marty and Kent anymore. Kent did a wonderful job with his eulogy. R.I.P.Marty.♥️ Take care, Kent and be well. Thank you both.
live long and prosper RIP Martin Milner.
I met them both at the Boston World of Wheels in 1973 , They were signing autographs, something i will never forget
I met Mr. McCord a few years ago, and he was very friendly and pleasant.
I was also Facebook friends with Mr. Milner.
One-ADAM-12, End Of Watch. KMA-367.
neat. They're gentlemen...now to one...Kent...a gentleman. Such treasures...we nearly forget.....
Love all the work he did R i P my hero.
As a huge childhood fan of Adam 12, thanks for sharing this inside view of a wonderful and touching eulogy for Marty Milner. I soon also became an Emergency! Fan and spent 43 years as a Colorado Firefighter. Long live both shows! 👍
Two class acts Martin Milner and Kent McCord 👏
Great work Kent!
wow, what an important tribute.
I could not agree more !!
Well said and well put !!
Great guys. I enjoyed Adam 12, Dragnet, and Route 66.
Love Kent McCord. Both him and Marty seemed genuinely like nice people. But especially Kent.
S B I lived in the same North Hollywood neighborhood as Kent McCord and his family. They used to come to the Jack In The Box I worked at on Laurel Canyon. Nice man to a star struck teenager. I’ve been a police officer for over 30 years.
Andrew Cruz Awesome memory.
“To Protect and to Serve”
I was just a toddler, but I remember the whole family gathering to watch Adam-12. He agreed! 😂
My children have learned to respect police, firemen, military, etc. And they’ve done so because they realize that the words on the door are true!
“To Protect and to Serve”
Adam-12, and Jack Webb’s other shows, were a window to watch my heroes. And my children, over 50 years later, feel the same about those shows, and about the real people they represent!
God Bless the ones who protect and serve us!
I never new about the show when it was on but now I see it in reruns . I see it every day
I grew up in the 60's graduating HS in '71. Watching Adam 12 while in HS changed my life, led to doing over 30 years as a cop in CA.
I still watch Adam12 even on my Apple TV as i have the first season. Sad the rest of the seasons are not on iTunes but honestly Kent and Martin were a class act and this tribute is really good. RIP Martin Milner
Thank you very much for posting this video.
Thank you for posting this!
Milner had 2 of the greatest tv shows ever. One drove around in a car with George Maharris, the other he drove around in a car with Kent McCord.
Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
Well spoken and respectful. Very classy.
Steven M. Fanale
But there will never be another great team of a Pete Malloy and Jim Reed for Adam 12 as great as they were.
I’m not sure I would have recommended the Durgin Park restaurant back then but doesn’t matter now since it just went out of business.
What a shame Universal and Shout Factory didn't include these guys in any special features for the dvd sets.
