    I like this comparison of the F82 M4 with your G82. I have a 2015 M4 manual that I bought new, and now have a G82, manual as well, in order. Your video has given me additional insight into what I can expect from my new car. I'm looking forward to taking delivery whenever it finally arrives at my dealer (Who knows when that will be.).

    i love my F82 Comp , some people dont like the hard suspension and the hard shift but i love that shit. I love how each M car has it own feel. F82 feel like it trying to kill you lol

    I have been in the g82 xdrive competition for 3 days now after trading in my F80 M3 competition. So far I feel a step down especially for DCT and the sound. Hopefully this will change by time.

    Just from watching this video you can 100% tell that a F82 is way more of a “Driver’s car” than the G8x, like he said the G8x is HUGE!! “it’s like a 6 series” bmw M3 lineage has always been about being Small, Light Weight and having a high reving engine. The G8x just falls short of that. I just drove one recently (i owe a F82) and it felt to Big, to Heavy, and the trans just didn’t speak to me like a DCT does. Its sad because the g8x didn’t make me feel like I was driving a race car anymore :( and at the end of the day that’s what M3’s & M4’s we’re purposely built for. The race track! Not that you can’t track a G8x, don’t get me wrong, but it really is turning into more of a luxury & comfortable every day car just like a Mercedes. Keep in mind if your core values are to get a car that’s super safe, not rigid, and has all these assist’s, then don’t buy a race car, it’s as simple as that. In reality it’s not really fair to compare these 2 cars because one is a race car and the other is a Daily that’s just fast. AlI i have to say is I’m glad this is my last BMW even tho i have so much love for the brand but Porsche is definitely the next step up.
    Always remember . . . with how advanced cars are today in the modern world anybody can buy a car and make it go fast in a straight line, that’s not special anymore. The cars that are special are the ones that can go around a Track, Canyon, or Circuit as fast as possible while giving the most feedback. If all you care about is straight line speed you belong in a Hellcat

      Driving both cars I’d say the G8x is more of a drivers car. The f8x just feels more aggressive. I feel way more connected in my m4 where as the f8x I just feel like it’s closer to that hellcat tire spinning hooligan feel. It’s the equivalent of someone putting Coilovers on there car and think it’s better because it’s more bouncy and stiff, the f8x does deliver an exciting experience but not drivers car experience like the e92 and even g8x.

      @@Slowspeed fair enough i respect other peoples opinions, but i do have to disagree 😈 there’s just too much aftermarket support for the f8x that allows you to turn it into a gnarly track weapon which in retrospect will give you more of a “drivers car” feeling. I mean, there’s literally Cup car parts available for the f8x platform. Something the G8x just doesn’t have. Don’t get me wrong, if we actually step back and really look at this both of our cars really have lost a lot of feel compared to the previous generations. An E46 and E92 will always feel more like a "drivers car" compared to both of our cars, but if I had to pick between both of our cars for a track day i’d take a F8x. As im sure many others would do the same. I (and many other track guys) couldn’t through around a car close to 4500lbs with someone in it around a track lap after lap while putting down good lap times. Even my car at 3800lbs with me in it is just way to heavy, and yes it’s a typical saying but our electric steering is just complete dog shit compared to previous generation's hydraulic steering. The lack of confidence when taking corners at 85mph is Real ferser. Nothing sucks more than not being able to feel every bump in the road & not knowing where the car is really gunna go when you pointing it in a specific direction going that fast. No matter how “fine tuned” bmw thinks they can make it, its just not the same. I think i’ve just drivin to many porsche’s . . . .

    I got me a 2018 M4 manual. The G82 looks great to me except that grill. If I was to ever get one, definitely would upgrade to an aftermarket bumper. But I'm like you man, I want that Carrera S.

    Great video! In the manual you can start in 2nd gear when in Sport+. I love the old school gauges more than the new digital screens. The G82 under pinnings are fantastic.

    I went from a fully modded f30 335i with spl arm upgrades, xhp stage , tune, gutted interior etc, to a f90 m5. After I drove the m5 for a while and went back to the f30, it felt so good to be back. Felt more raw, fun, tight, and like u said, I knew where all four corners were and the car felt more like a extension of my body. The m5 is a great car, but it's so big and I always feel disconnected. It keeps making me want to move into a m4 cs, just to get a little more of the tight raw feel.

    awesome review i got a f82 too and it feels like it wants more and more and more power and does a kick that i couldn’t feel in a g82 but love for both def i love the aggressiveness on the dct but i can’t find my self through wit a zf 8speed

    I agree the F80 platform is one of those that are fast but can get scary real quick if you not on point. G80 feels so safe you can go very fast with out losing the rear end.

    Me personally both M4s are awesome cars and I would love to just drive one... one day. the BMW dealership by me has a low mile used 2020 M4 Base and the color is pretty nice!

    F8x feels more raw because it’s a DCT… while G8x is literally auto probably around the same realm of how my tuned G12 7 series feels. Both awesome cars with different personalities

    If you haven’t already I definitely recommend xhp stg3 trans tune works wonders on the zf trans I have it in my 16’ 340i track/handling

      Does it give u the dct kick vibes or not? Been considering switching from f82 to g82 but I’m afraid of not liking the zf8 as I heard it is so good that it feels not sporty

      @@Khaled-xc5ku I can say as I drive with it everyday in sport + you definitely get that dct feel kick on the shifts and downshifts, I’ve even had m owners in my car and they all said the same tune make it feel like a dct

    The G80 M4 X drive is one of the fastest off the line cars I've been in and its night and day compared to the last generation ...although I traded it for a 992 Carrera S that i6 is one of my favorite out rn.

      I gotta ask, how you feel going from m4 to 992 s? It’s the next thing on my list but the more I drive the m4 the less impatient I get to switch.

      @@Slowspeed Man its a whole another level, driving a mid engine car is just more fun. Ripping it on the straight and guiding it through curves just feels amazing at night if you have a sports exhaust the feeling is sublime going through a tunnel and having those horses behind you push.

      @@Slowspeed right, carrera s has 3l twin turbo, so you can tune it. It is not that much $ difference between carrera and m4 but status, looks, drivebility, rear engine, and curb weight will be on another level. But I prefer you g82 content more, since I'm bmw guy))

    Most people have traction issues because they buy shitty tires and they're skinny. You need fat Michelin pilot sports 4s or super sports for this car

      Most cases the front would be slightly less then the rear for everything to be flush. No they’re not bmw but for example purposes..Our Q7 is 15 front 20 rear. My a5 is just 5 mm in the rear( aftermarket wheels). Both are flush fit. Some ppl want a bit more poke in the rear, but that’s the only time I’ve seen same size spacers. 🤷🏼‍♂️ hopefully this helped in some way, bmw forum would be my next stop to get more insight if needed 🤜🏻🤛🏻

    BMW M3/M4 is all about raw numbers now. The purist's, driver's M car is gone. Its still tight, precise, and SOLID, but its not the connected, extension of your body feel any more. G80 is an impressive car, but to me its more AMG than BMW. You just don't get the same feeling as you did in an E46 or E90. In those cars, you could feel the TEXTURE of the asphalt through the wheel. In the past if all you wanted were objective performance numbers and BMW solid quality, you'd get an M5. now the M5 and M3 are the same, just different sizes. F80.... nothing to say worst generation of 3 series ever. crazy performance, but not emotionally special.
