I'd like to take this time to clear up a lot of the common comments I've been receiving so before you leave a comment please read: First of all thank you all so much for the reception of this video. Its gotten way more views than I could hope for and grown my channel a lot with new subscribers. Secondly, I really screwed up the pronunciations of Malenia and I am really sorry. Since "Melania" is a real world name I just sort of never noticed that's how it was pronounced and written for some reason. So when scripting and voicing the video that's how it was written, and that's how I wrote it. It wasn't until I was editing and spent hours looking at the same item descriptions and items over and over again that I finally noticed my mistake and I rectified that in spelling however it was too late for the voice. And lastly a lot of you have brought up some concerns about my rankings and truthfully I cut out a lot of my own reasoning from the video. This is my first time ever making a "long" video, so to make things easier for my self about 5 pages of extra information was cut, to put into perspective this video was 9 pages long where my other videos have been 3-5. But to satisfy people's curiosity, here is a complete explanation of my ranking decisions: The main theme you will notice is what I said in the intro, we will look at the documented feats. However this is what the orignal intro looked like that set the tone better and I regret not leaving it in: _"Which characters have best demonstrated their fighting ability based on the lore, considering their documented experiences and feats? This ranking considers all lore events up to the beginning of Elden Ring and the DLC’s main story, meaning characters like Radahn, Consort of Miquella, are ineligible. The order of this list focuses on what these characters have actually accomplished, rather than their potential. After all, while we can speculate on what they might be capable of, it is their documented deeds that truly matter."_ #10 Vyke- If we consider ourselves, the Tarnished, as the most powerful being in the realm (once we ascend the throne) the one who came closest towards succeeding before us is to an extent on our level while just below. His feats and title showcase that he was the most powerful man of the Roundtable Hold prior to us and as a result he should be considered the most powerful Tarnished before us and Godfrey arrives. This means other "mortal" characters such as the rest of the NPC's we find should fall below him. #9 Rennala- Aside for potentially Ranni she possibly wielded the strongest magic in the whole realm before becoming depressed. Her power in that sense is mostly obvious yet her ranking is so low despite being a demi-god for two reasons. First of all she did fall depressed but secondly she seems to be more of a nerd than a fighter. Sure she is incredibly talented in magic but that doesn't mean she's someone who would actively go and use that power to fight. In fact even in the Liurnian wars we just know she was in charge at the time and led the glintstone knights we don't know if she was involved in actual fighting. So her documented feats were quite limited despite weilding powerful magic and being a demi-god. #8 Godwyn- If you recall, documented feats are what I look at and he has very little said about him besides involvement with the Dragons. Gransax was a mighty enough opponent in this case to put him above the other two. #7 Maliketh- The most controversial pick so lets discuss this. First of all, simply wielding Destined Death doesn't mean he has insta-kill. A lot of people have been using this argument to say he is the strongest. All this essentially means is his sword has the "gimmick" of completely wiping you out if you fall to it. The demi-gods fearing Maliketh has very little to do with Maliketh and a lot to do with Destined Death. Just think of it like playing a game with perma-death, the enemies aren't harder the consequences are just greater. So the fact that he wields Destined Death or the Rune of Death, should not be anyone's argument for why he's the strongest. Moreover lets not forget this he is also MARIAKA'S DOG. In the literal and derogatory sense. He is not gonna do anything to anyone unless Marika tells him to do it. And from the descriptions we learn that Marika has no use for him aside for guarding the Rune of Death. So Maliketh is quite literally harmless unless you try to steal from him. Funniest thing is, despite that being his only job, he fails at that and the Rune of Death is stolen to kill Godwyn. Some people speculate that it was an inside job by Marika to shatter the Elden RIng. Firstly that speculation is quite baseless because why would Marika need to kill Godwyn to shatter the Elden Ring, she could do that at any point. Its more likely that she did it as a result. And secondly and more importantly, speculation is meaningless. We need to look at the facts and the fact is that Maliketh aside for having a really cool sword that can perma-kill you IF YOU ONLY GET DEFEATED BY HIM, is in general harmless and also sucks at his job. The reason he's even 7th is because he defeated the Godskin Apostles and the Gloam Eyed Queen. #6 Messmer- Its the same story. He definitely has the potential to be number 1, as stated he possess the power to potentially wipe out the Erdtree. However there is nothing in the lore prior to games story that shows him do anything that crazy. Him wiping out the Hornsent is his biggest accomplishment. We don't know, lore wise, what would happen if the serpent was let loose and he decided to let loose and burn everything, including the Erdtree, to the ground. Although that remains a distinct possibility, we need to focus on what he actually did. #5 Morgott- This video was originally supposed to be why Morgott is the strongest of all instead of a ranking. It only turned into a ranking when I decided to a lot more research and came to this conclusion. Morgott is more like Batman, he uses the Nights Cavalry, his demonic presence (something mentioned in lore not just how in the game he appears out of nowhere) and other such sly tactics to gather as much information as possible before defeating his foe. So as everyone likes to mention he defeated Radahn but that's not as impressive as you might think since he had every advantage he could have. Firstly, it wasn't a 1v1 it was battle during a siege. Secondly, Morgott had home turf advantage. Radahn had to come all the way from Caelid with his knights mean while Morgott had to just sit around his house with soldiers and knights of the capital, and we can safely assume that they would be some of the best and strongest. His defenses included the Erd Tree Sentinels. The Knights and the Sentinels were ferocious fighters who had access to Ancient Dragon Cult incantations. Also in history its been proven time and time again, that its easier to defend than it is to attack. And lastly a bit of a weaker argument but one I'd like to still mention is that Morgott knew who he was fighting, Radahn has no idea that Morgott is Marikas kid since he was locked up since birth, he probably just thought its some random powerful omen. #4 Malenia- Somewhat surprisingly most people agree that number 4,3, 2 are some of the strongest but disagree with the order. Firstly Malenia in terms of who she is in the lore, is not the Goddess of Rot. She can only become that once the Scarlet Aeonia blooms 3 times. So in lore aside for the one time she let loose the Aeonia, she is just an extremely powerful fighter who eventually does let loose her nuke flower. That was the only she could avoid defeat at Radahns hands and if Clean Rot Knight FInlay wasn't there to save her, there is no evidence that the crazy but still powerful Radahn could have just ate her. So instead the fight instead ended in stalemate but if we were to score it, its pretty damning that despite throwing everything she had, Radahn was still breathing. Hence she is the weakest of the 3. #3 Godfrey- Godfrey could easily top the list based on feats alone, but truthfully he is just a really angry guy with an axe. That doesn't take away from how badass he is and all the cool stuff he's done but when we got Radahn coming up who can literally control gravity and the stars its sort of hard for me to suggest that Godfrey is somehow more powerful. #2 Radahn- This is the one that I am pretty confident I covered in the video so there's really not much more to add. He's considered the strongest demigod by people in the game, he was the one Maquila chose to be his consort, he conquered the stars and our hearts. #1 Radagon- I have a feeling a lot of people had left comments about Radagon without watching the full way through the video, I mean I do have access to the engagement stats so that is pretty likely. So yes while what he did at Liurnia of the Lakes, makes him seem pretty weak its all that came after with him becoming powerful enough to subvert the God Queen Marika, and be the one to control the Elden Ring that makes him undeniably the strongest warrior in Elden Ring. I kept practically all I needed to say in the video so I would recommend watching that section completely if you still have any questions or see the linked video in the description about Radagon. That should cover it for now, I am sure a lot of people will still disagree and I want to make it clear I am all for you guys sharing your opinions and I only wrote this long comment out so I could do a better job at explaining my reasoning and interpretation but *by no means does that mean what I am saying is the only correct interpretation.* Except for the fact that Maliketh is pretty useless, that is objectively true. :)
@@TahmidHO you have a gross misunderstanding of the lore when you say Maliketh is Marika’s dog. He’s not her servant, he’s a servant of the Greater Will, who will do what they say, not what she says. Also, just because someone follows orders it doesn’t make them any less of a warrior. Same could be said about Messmer, then, who obeyed Marika. A warrior’s strength isn’t diminished or increased by who they serve
If you only limits Malenia to her first phase then sure, but yes Goddess of Rot phase 2 would be the real #2 if you included it. Glad yoy clarified that one. Heck if you included Consort Radahn, then Radahn would be number 2 again.
Everyone seems to be confused on why Maliketh isn't higher. Destined Death doesn't mean that Maliketh insta kills anyone he touches, it just means that anything he kills with the black blade will stay dead.
Lore accurate Elden Ring is if you die to Maliketh your save is erased and you gotta do it all over lol. (Unless Farum Azula bring beyond time prevents it some way.)
Yes, that’s what Destined Death does. Maliketh himself will make sure that you die as soon as he touches you. He’s by far the most powerful non outer god in lore
@@BLP04 No, thats not how it works. Otherwise, the Black Knife Assassins would have brought down Leyndell by themselves and they wouldn't have been forced to run away. It just means that whoever gets killed with the effect of destined death is gone without any type of reincarnation of any kind. Straight into nothingness.
@@leo-shun you’re misunderstanding my point. I’m not saying that he literally kills you immediately through Destined Death. I know how it works, and yes, it’s as you explained it. What I’m saying is that Maliketh’s power alone would kill you either way, DD will just make it permanent
@@BLP04 Ah, I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Its on me. Maliketh's raw power rivals demigods and adding destined death on top of that is too much.
Yes that is true. But my guidelines for the ranking was based on lore events before the game started as there would be no way of ranking them as they change over the course of the game. But you are right the tarnished who defeats all does become, the strongest character. Its why Vyke is ranked so highly as prior to the game starting he was close to becoming as strong as us.
The DLC acknowledges the tarnished's revival abilities as something that really happens in lore, since you have to use them to finish Thiollier/St. Trina story. So, the tarnished isn't super strong in canon, but is cunning and they have the "you can kill me an infinite number of times but I just need to kill you one" perk.
@@jesusojeda7850 This. What I love most about the Tarnished is that to truly beat them, you have to break their will to fight. Or, as Margit (Morgott) would often say, "Someone must extinguish thine flame. Let it be Margit, the Fell." This correlates directly with the player. If you give up and ragequit the game, your Tarnished has officially lost.
Awesome video I’ve been looking for a video like this for awhile and pretty much agree with the rankings, I love the alt shift x shoutout at the end. I love his content and have watched pretty much all his videos for years
This is an amazing list and taking some of the characters second phase it makes sense on why some characters are higher than they usually be. Radahn in Shadow of Erdtree in endgame is a beast since he isn’t rotting away. Malenia was an Empyrean who then became a Goddess of Rot and perhaps an equal to Radagon/Marika as she was the representative of the Outer God of Rot. Other characters are tough cookies and just based on interpretation. For example a stalemate between Radagon and Rennala suggest they might have been equals at that point or simply their armies were equals in the same way for Morgott and Radahn. Morgott and the Capital certainly had some of the best/largest soldiers/army and hence they won. I do think Mohg should take the spot of Vyke. I love him but Mohg is the Demi-God representative of the Formless Mother and perhaps the most powerful user of Blood(OP). Marika def deserves to be at the top if she was responsible for taking that Giant (technically a God according to Gideon). When we took him out everyone at the roundtable hold was impressed. Also I do think Radagon> Maliketh because Gideon saw us defeat Maliketh and take Destined Death and he still thought we had no chance against Marika/Radagon. And if Marika needed Godfrey that much then perhaps Godfrey isn’t no pushover either and might be near her power.
Truest Elden lord: the one known as falling damage. Myth has it that it would change based on location so you never knew if it would kill you. True madness, frenzy had no chance
I can see why you would think that but to order a list like this I laid out some rules that I stated in the very beginning of this video. Within the confines of those rules, most notably the one about "document feats" Maliketh really cant compare to the rest of them because Maliketh is essentially beholden to Marika and her will. While defeating the Gloam-Eyed Queen and wielding Destined Death are tremendous feats it doesn't compare to those who came higher than him on the list.
If Marika had to send someone else to take out the gloom eyed queen, that means the queen was a threat to even Marika, which is entirely possible as the queen was also an emperian. The fact Malekith is the one who was sent to take this threat out before even having the rune says it all.
This has to be one of my favorite ranking videos for Elden Ring. The acknowledgment and respect for absolute beasts like Rennala, The Carian Knights, and The Bloody Fingers is something I never see due to how easy they are to deal with in game.
Radagon is also proficient with literally everything. Greatsword, Hammer, incantations, sorceries, smithing, sewing. You name it. Despite his shattered form, he was truly complete.
Bro, you only have 163 followers????? This video quality is some of the best I've seen. Good job man, keep it up! Earned a sub and like! Also, that malenia K/D joke was 10/10
Godfery beat the fire giants and protected the erdtree for a age, and Rahdahn is stated to be the strongest demigod multiple times by different people with different loyalties. All we know about Melenia is that her cleanrot knights were undefeated in the shattering (not hard against regular soldiers), she bullied godrick (again not hard) and fought rahdahn to a "draw" (if we go by what happened in the trailer, rahdahn invited her to a duel, she started losing, and then she nuked him and he still survived)
I can't say for sure about Godfrey, but we got to basically see her and Radahn fight, she was tired and losing and he just postured up waiting for her to catch her breath. she had to nuke him and still didn't beat him. Radahn is just built different.
Tbh Radagon really doesn't deserve the first place. He ascends to godhood yes, but he doesn't really have any great feats? He is stated to be a champion of the golden order but has no major victories to his name. I think a better top 3 would be with Maliketh at n°1 Godfrey at n°2 Radahn at n°3 Radahn himself idolized Godfrey who was by far the greatest conquerer in the history of the lands between, his strenght is immense and he just has won many more battles than Radahn. Also it is not stated anywhere that him holding the stars stiill requires meaningful effort or weakens him in any way. He always was at full power, holding the stars back was a passive ability of his. Maliketh simply is at n°1 because as the "Death of the demi-gods" there was no single demigod in the lands between who didn't fear him. Malenia, Morgott and Messmer are a bit complicated to position because Malenia was still able to match Radahn in battle, and despite basically losing all she was fighting for she still became stronger against her will as the goddess of rot. Messmer is basically on Radahns level as he was extremely powerful but, like Morgott, he was hidden away so not many were aware of his existence and strenght. Radahn did know him though and considered messmer like his older brother. I would consider Messmer and Malenia tied at n°4 just below Radahn because Radahn was an extremely notorious warrior for his feats of strenght, not necessarily for numerous victories like Messmer. Morgott sits at number 5 as he was one of the most prominent demigods in the shattering, holding off invasions from all factions and even stopping Radahn in his path.
Lore wise Godfrey sounds like he's the most accomplished. Maliketh clearly is very powerful but he's a shadow so IDK if a shadow is meant to necessarily be as powerful as a lord. If anything, I don't even think Blaidd could defeat a prime ranni if he faught her, they are meant to kill their emperian but that doesn't necessarily outright mean they will kill them in an upfront battle, it's possible that it could be done in a sense of assassination, Maliketh is known to kill demi-gods so I see him as being up there. But it's hard to compare that to Godfrey whom could defeat armies.
@@boxguytv Maliketh also defeated an army by himself, The Gloam Eyed Queen and her Godskins. That’s debatably the single most impressive combat feat we ever hear about
I get why would think that. Admittedly I cut out a lot of content from the original script to make editing and voicing this video easier since this is my first time doing something like this. But basically my reasoning is, Maliketh's strength really comes from Destined Death. When they say all demigods fear him its mostly that they fear Destined Death because in truth Maliketh is not gonna do anything to anyone unless they try and take the Rune of Death or unless Marika gives another command. His loyalty towards his duty makes him pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things. Furthermore if his whole purpose, his reason for being is to protect the Rune of Death, he is pretty bad at his job considering it was stolen from him and Godwyn died as a result. A plan concocted by Rykard and Ranni who clearly didn't fear him that much and probably had some contingency plan to deal with him. I would imagine the strongest Demigods such as Radahn, and Malenia would be able to handle him. As would Godfrey considering Maliketh is probably is as powerful as Serosh, who Godfrey defeated. Of course Serosh didn't have the power of Destined Death but you get the idea.
@@D0verking69 I'm a bit unclear of that, from the lore I can't tell if destined death existed everywhere and Maliketh had access to it as well as the Gloam Eyed Queen and then later sealed it away for the whole world or if he got it directly from the Gloam Eyed Queen. From my research I couldn't find a definitive answer maybe you have one?
No, Maliketh should be at 1. Radagon is an aspect of Marika, and Maliketh was made for the sole purpose of not only helping Marika, but kill her if the Greater Will deemed it necessary, so he’s literally built to kill this list’s number 1 pick
@@TahmidHOit doesn’t come from Destined Death, that’s just an add on. He still wiped the floor with the Gloam Eyed Queen without it, and the Queen was a genuine threat to Marika
Sorry but if we are going by the feats in the game Godfrey wins hands down. I'm not completely sure how the Star Scourge conflict played out exactly, save that Radahn wins. But given that he used Gravity Magic to do it, I doubt he was parrying, blocking, finding his opening to strike. He probably casted one big spell that made a logo over his head and the stars were arrested. While the spell stays active as long as he is alive there is no sign that it was continuously draining him. Radagon is a failure as a warrior. All of his warrior feats are DEFEATS. Subverting Marika speaks nothing to his warrior ability. We have no idea how their relationship works. It could be a battle of wills but will doesn't translate to skill. Even, in that he's a loser: he couldn't stop Marika from shattering the ring. He couldn't stop Marika from sending grace out to call the Tarnished back. All he could do in the end was put a barrier that we burn down. He's kinda pathetic. His skills are politics and subterfuge. The other thing I find hilarious when it comes to Lands Between locals being rated as warriors: Prior to the Shattering but after Messmer's crusade there is only one conflict that "MIGHT" have happened, the Ancient Dragons attacking the capital. We can't be sure if that was before or after the Crusade but we know only one Demi-god is mentioned in that war. So Radahn, Rykard, Ranni, Miquella, Malenia, Godrick, Godefroy they lived in relatively peaceful times. Heck, either early in their life or before they were born their mom turned off death. Any true warrior experience was denied to them. Them training to fight is like a wealthy person taking fencing. Morgott grew up in the sewers so I can see that making him tough. That in mind, picturing the Shattering in my head, the battles looks way more pathetic as these people who have never had to fight a day in their lives suddenly have to pick a side and put everything on the line, flailing like loonies. No wonder Godwyn was assassinated, he's the only Demi-god with battlefield experience (that we know of) in the Lands Between prior to the Shattering. And I mean fighting a foe not cast magic at the sky.
He was part of the original script in honorable mentions but that list was like 10 characters so I had to scrap a bunch of them and figured to leave it for DLC bosses and Bernahl since I mentioned him earlier.
Bruh, you just go there and tell us what we already know, that Morgott handily trashedd Radahn in a 1v1 fight. Prime Radahn. The pre-rot Radahn. And then you put him several places behind. According to lore. Making it make sense, please.
In what universe did Morgott "single handedly" thrash Radahn when in the picture you are referencing there is soldiers surrounding them. The context is Radahn attacked Leyndell and Morgott along with his Knights and Tree Sentinels and their Ancient Dragon Cult Magic repelled Radahn and his forces. It's impressive don't get me wrong but it is definitely not anything like you described. It wasn't single handed and it definitely wasn't a thrashing.
He is literally tied for the weakest demigod with Godrick. There is also no evidence that Morgott won a fight with Radahn other than the fact that he was on top of him in a single frame of the opening cinematic.
Starscourge Radahn is in second place despite not winning a single canonical fight. He’s above Morgott even though he got topped by Morgott as shown in the opening cinematic of the game. He’s above Malenia even though at his prime he was evenly matched by her at her base level and ultimately couldn’t beat her. And then he got defeated by the Tarnished of No Renown, twice if we include the DLC, leaving him with an abysmal score of 0-4. Starscourge Radahn? More like Baldscourge Fraudahn.
As the guy stated in the video, we have no idea as to how the fight between morgott and radahn played out since we literally only got one single shot. As for malenia, the only reason he "didnt defeat" her is bc she decided to nuke everything with scarlet rot and that was after radahn caused her to start bleeding out, the battle was at a stalemate for a long time but radahn eventually started winning as u literally since the story trailer. Plus, after nuking everything radahn not only lived but was still conscious meanwhile malenia was unconscious, therefore he won. If not for the cleanrot knight taking her back to the haligatree, radahn after eventually going mad wouldve just killed and ate malenia as she was knocked out cold lol. "Tarnished of no renown?" That same tarnished preceeded to beat malenia AFTER she got even stronger bc she blossomed a 3rd time, becoming the goddess of rot. And that radahn you fight is completely witless and mad, and even then, according the lore of that fight, u jump him with multiple companions regardless of if u decide to summon them in game or not. As for the dlc, yes u do defeat him... after about 50-100 tries of pain and thats not coming from me, thats from the community and he is considered the harder boss over malenia. Nice try lol. Starsgoat, General Radahn is his name, the mightiest Demigod of the shattering.
@@chris_k1d844 Doesn’t matter if it was just a single shot, at the end of the day Fraudahn and his army tried to siege Leyndell and got bested by MorGOAT and Leyndell’s forces. Objectively speaking Fraudahn lost, he went in with a goal and failed to complete said goal. As for Midlania, the Scarlet Rot is literally her power, she was cursed with it and could use it if she pleased since it’s part of her kit. And he didn’t cause her to bleed, it was clearly shown that Midlania impaled herself and Fraudahn with her own sword, not to mention she had Fraudahn on his knees, as seen a second before she bloomed, so I don’t know where the idea that Fraudahn had her on the ropes comes from. He might’ve chopped off her arm but that clearly didn’t stop her. But ultimately the game has stated that their fight ended in a draw, so they both essentially lost, none of that mental gymnastics headcannon that just cause Fraudahn didn’t take a nap he won. Also Fraudahn got defeeted and that’s the biggest L imaginable. Moving on to the Tarnished of No Renown, a defeat is still a defeat and the Tarnished canonically defeated both Midlania and Fraudahn. Doesn’t matter if Fraudahn was essentially a rabid and mindless dog roaming around a desert, he still got defeated. And for Promised Consort Fraudahn, he would’ve ended up flipping patties and putting fries in bags had it not been for Miquella the Unemployed powering him up with his BS god magic. Even with the cross slash attack, phase one of PCR wasn’t that big of a deal, not until the glaucoma-inducing ordeal that is phase two. So like I said, Baldscourge Fraudahn.
Idk what the fuck you're talking about. Morgott never defeated him, we only see one frame where Morgott has mounted him, and Radahn was in a compromising situation. The only thing that was certain is the fact that Morgott was able to defend Leyndell. He also literally defeated Malenia, but then let her continue the fight after disarming her, which she only won by using her god powers. He also conquered the stars, which already gives him more wins than any other character on this list Also saying that the Tarnished defeated him is such a shit point. Everyone in the game is canonically weaker than the Tarnished, and are all killed Smartest Malenia fanboy 🤮 vs Dumbest Radahn Enjoyer 🗿
@@Mario-SunshineGalaxy64 bro you’re glazing a bit. I know most like to claim Radahn won that fight. I agree it was a stalemate as the lore stated. “She abandoned her honor to meet Radahn’s measure.” -Millicent She was on the back foot when she decided to bloom nuking everything. She was knocked out and Radahn caught a case of brain rot officially making it a tie. Even if Radahn was still standing it was no longer Radahn. He lost his sense of self.
Great video, but the way you pronounced Malenia made me recoil lol. Still tho, cool list, never realized that the cover art knight had such significant impact.
Sorry about that 😅. Initially I even wrote it like I pronounced till I realized all the item descriptions contradicted me. That only happened while editing and the voice over was already recorded and edited.
Imo maliketh and messmer should have been higher Maliketh wields the rune of death, which is the only thing that could bring true "death" in marikas rule and was feared by almost all of the demigods Messmer the impaler was the eldest of the demigods, slew tens of thousands of hornsent, killed a lot of divine beasts and was left in the land of shadow because even marika feared the abyssal serpent Also rykard, bayle and placudisax might have made on this list
@TahmidHO I assumed that Marika "won" the fight for dominance over Radagon, and after Shattering the Elden Ring, the Elden Beast punished Marika while permitting Radagon to continue on due to the Elden Beast and Radagon's shared goals.
Ahh I see thats actually very interesting. I had never considered who won the internal struggle between Radagon and Marika. I always just assumed post shattering Radagon was able to restore just enough of the Elden Ring to foil Marikas plans and because he was the one to repair the ring, like the Tarnished is at the end of the game, he was the one who ultimately took control. An act that would undoubtedly require him have to go over Marikas head to do. But perhaps it was all the Greater will afterall, but at that point you would have to wonder why it would bother with Radagon and not immediately seek a new vessel, because again it is very quick to accept whatever you give it. But the Marika "winning" against Radagon does have some merit considering that Radagon did at the end be forced to return to Marika. Thanks for sharing your point of view. I would like to explore this topic further about their internal struggle and maybe make another video on it.
@TahmidHO I think one reason why it choose marika/radagon as the vessel was simply because they were only one they could somewhat control. Ranni was probably considered dead/ missing and had no allegiance. Malenia already had the outer god of rot. Miquella was planning to overthrow the golden order when he became a god. A crazy thought i just had is that I wonder if it is possible for miquella to charm the elden beast 😂. Edit: Also how would you change the list to accommodate post game characters such as age of stars ranni or frenzied flame tarnished?
Good video, but some things never cease to amaze. Like Malenia. It is written MALENIA. The name is spoken about million times in the game and is pronounced the same way as is written. She literally says the name during her cutscene. Boom, author of the video: mElAnIa
I am sorry! I actually did not notice that's how her name was pronounced despite 500 hours in the game. When I wrote my script that's how I wrote it, the original version of this video had "Melania" written everywhere until I noticed the item descriptions contradicted me. But at that point I was editing and couldn't redo the voice over. This also explains why I saw Trump's wife every time I searched for her on Google 😂
Dude I was thinking the same. I don't want to shit on the guy too hard bc the video was well made and the effort is there overall, but when there's actually another character in the game called Melania and you're writting a 20 min script, how tf you gonna call Malenia Melania every single time and overlook that.
i disagree with many picks on the list and I think you even got some lore wrong. i think my top three are radahn/godfrey tied, maliketh and malenia. lets not forget godfrey and malikrth have shown insane feats, even against gods, and radahn is just all levels of busted. and i would be able to argue for why many other picks are lower. radagon was even called a „mere champion“ heavily implied to be weaker than godfrey
Excuse me, when did Morgott ever not pwn He stacked high the corpses of champions and held Leyndell during the Shattering Shat on Radahn He is king of the hill, if they coulda beat him, they woulda
He is literally tied for the weakest demigod with Godrick. There is also no evidence that Morgott won a fight with Radahn other than the fact that he was on top of him in a single frame of the opening cinematic.
@@seekay8079 then why wasn’t he defeated in the shattering? If you apply the same skepticism to your own position, you will find little support for the claim that Radahn is the strongest *in battle*. Everyone assumes this simply because of in-game text & voice lines that say he is “the strongest of the demigods”. Miquella is also referred to as the “most fearsome”. These are very interpretive descriptions and hardly constitute the kind of “evidence” you seem to want. “Strongest” does not equal “best at fighting”. What we actually know is that they fought and Radahn lost 🤷♂️ The illustration in the opening cinematic could be exaggerated but Radahn did* attack Leyndell and Morgott turned him back
@@GiantsHuntbecause he was at the top of the strongest defensive army of the entire land. This army countered a city sized dragon ffs. This is what Leyndell is known for. It’s not an anime where armies don’t matter.
im putting godwyn in top 5; if his death knights are an indicator; as well as defeating the massive ancient dragon at leyndell. maybe maliketh, radahn, radagon, and godfry probably could take him prime
@@TahmidHO I just believe that lore wise Malenia deserves to be higher. Radahn has been defeated twice. I understand he held back the stars and is consort but he’s been bested twice. Other than that, it’s a good list.
the radahn we met at the dlc ( even his first phase ) would eat malenia for his lunch ... radahn obviously won the fight against malenia .. imagine 2 countries are in the war the one which is losing using a nuclear bomb thats not a win ... same happend to malenia .. she noticed she is losing and no chance against him so she nuked radahn ... yet he didnt die bayle also attacked placidusax and injured placidusax so bad but he realized the wise move is to run away... same story of malenia and radahn there is a reason they choosed radahn as the final boss of dlc and surely the hardest boss in souls games ... he is the mightiest of them all
Glad to know people are acknowledging the fact that Radagon is the strongest character canonically. Already a champion of the Golden Order who was able to fight the Carian Forces in a war, and he literally has a God living inside of him. He is just too powerful
Maliketh in 7th??? Bruh. But yeah, this is "warrior" list and I put Maliketh on a higher plane. So nvm, I just know dude is a God killer. EDIT: Bruh. Even Messmer in 6th. Jezussssss. I'm out.
@@kenji9817 yeah, this list isn’t great. The video is very well put together, but the research is lacking. Maliketh literally bodied a god slaying army by himself, and Messmer wiped out an entire race who we know to be quite strong. And he puts Radagon at number 1, who is not only supposed to be easily killed by Maliketh if need be due to how shadows work, but is also implied to be weaker than Godfrey as he’s just a “mere champion”, and every single one of his military feats as far as we know ended in either a defeat or a draw
@@lexflynn1994 Radagon doesn’t have a single victory under his belt. Closest thing to it is his marriage that allied the Golden Order and the house of Caria, but even that just happened after he got bodied twice, as you said
Nowhere explicitly. But, the golden lineage was born of godfery and marikas marrige. Godwyn is called "the golden", and godrick, who is of the lineage, also takes this title (tho everyone mockingly calls him "the grafted") and calls out to godwyn when he dies. Also, all of Radagon/Marikas kids have some "curse" (Melenia is infected by the outer god of rot, Miquella is eternally a youth and is also destined to fail, Mesmer has the abysall serpent) Radagon/Rennala kids are fine. You may think that Mohg and Morgott are cursed as well, being omen and all, but that is a semi-commin gentical condition due to lifes tie to the crucuble, weras all of radagon/marikas kids have a uniqe, cosmic curse.
I think is because of our status as a tarnish human warrior and that magic attack would not work on anyone else. If it did she would have killed Radahn herself.
Malenia and morgott are both better warriors than radahn, he has only one confirmed feat, and that is stopping the stars, not even a combat feat, we also know radahn stalemated with the weakest form of malenia before she even bloomed, landing her a narrow upper hand (stated by the devs btw). And morgott also held the whole leyndell secure for the whole shattering, commanding the biggest army in the lands between, but also fighting on the fronts with them, morgott also killed rykard's entire army and pushed him back into his cave to get eaten by the serpent, he repelled godrick and one of his men captured godefroy, but he also repelled radahn aswell (not a young radahn, but might have been a radahn that didn't yet grow in size yet, but he knew gravity magic, and stopped the stars). All and all, malenia and morgott are better than radahn, and i also don't quite get how godfrey isn't at least nunber 2 (just bcs radagon is a god), godfrey is the warrior with the most feats out of any characters in elden ring, bad ranking.
you dont need to defeat a whole army to be the strongest. If nobody faced Radhan, probably was because everyone knew that they probably wouldnt defeat him. You say that Radhan stalemated Malenia, but up to that point, Malenia was undefeated. She had to go way beyond to beat him, and still couldnt do it. There's a reason why Miquella was so desperate to have Radhan as his consort. He was the strongest.
@@Undead117 Radahn might have been known as the strongest, but that doesn't mean they were afraid of him, the only one we know was afraid of him was godrick, don't also forget that malenia was in her weakest form when she stalemated with radahn, even the malenia we fight is stronger, and we can also see she was injured even before their fight even started, and miquella choosing radahn, it's clearly stated that he admired him bcs of his KINDNESS and strength, plus we already know 2 empyreans can't marry each other because they are both destined to become gods themselves, so even if malenia was chosen to be miquella's consort, she couldn't, radahn is not even close to being the strongest in his form as starscourge radahn, there are multiple demigods who have the potential and indeed are stronger than him
@@Undead117 and one more thing, we already know that the only reason radahn didn't die instantly waa because of his great rune which started to burn to keep him alive, we also know that malenia's rune is half rotten and barely even works, her spirit of resistance is the reason why she can regenerate her health, not her great rune, so she basically fought radahn with almost no great rune, while radahn's only counter was his great rune
@@patrascu1485 She also fought Rahdahn with a power of a outer god. If the launch trailer is t be believed, rahdahn was beating melenia in combat, before she nuked him. And Rahdahn go nuclear like melenia did with his gravity magic, but he doesnt.
@@dylanburston7453 the power of that outer god is the main reason why she is also blind and cripled, and the thing is, that's how she was born, more powerful than radahn, and the story trailer doesn't prove anything btw, the moment malenia was readjusting her sword arm is when the fight started, so no, he was not letting her readjust it bcs he is "honourable"
radahn isn't really that high, he was very powerful but the likes of godfrey are above him godfrey is quite far above anyone else other than radagon for obvious reasons. also morgot beat radahn and stopped his siege of leyndell as shown in the intro. also if we are going by Warriors, i wouldnt pick rennalla here as she is a wizard.
Yeah I was debating Rennala as well but since lore states the battle between Caria and the Golden Order was controlled by Rennala and Radagon it was hard not to put her especially because if we go on a strictly no magic rule all of the warriors here besides Godfrey would be taken off. Speaking of at the end of the day I would rate Radahn so highly simply due to his mastery of the stars and gravity. While interms of pure 1v1 just weapons maybe Godfrey and Malenia beats him. But when he can drop stars, meteorites and other such cosmic horrors on you it's hard not to rate him highly. As for his defeat against Morgott, the arguments to save him is really the fact that it wasn't a 1v1 and it's easier to defend than it is to attack. Basically Morgott had hometurf advantage. And Morgott in the lore is basically Batman who with prep time becomes impossible to defeat so in that sense he would be the strongest aside for Radagon. In fact that was the original direction for the video but I felt that was too flimsy of an argument.
@@TahmidHO you cant scale any of those radahns feats, so they don't really work. Doesn't matter that he can drop stars, Alabaster Lord's can create portals to space and they're push overs. Facts are, if you compare scalable feats, Godfrey and Malkeith are always above him, he got beaten by Margit in combat (even after he was SS, meaning he mastered gravity magic) and is beaten by Malenia. Can't really go further than that otherwise it's just your head cannon, which is nothing.
@@vryyyxwhile I do agree that any star holding feats can’t reliably be used to scale Radahn since there are too many vague details on how it all works, the game itself pushes the complete opposite message of what you’re saying with Malenia. The game straight up tells you that Malenia sacrificed her pride and her sense of self to meet Radahns measure by giving in to the scarlet rot in Millicents quest line. This means that she was actively losing before giving into the rot that she hated. Even going as far as giving in to the scarlet rot, she didn’t even kill Radahn. Knowing what we know now about Miquellas plan in the DLC, the fight ending the way it did was definitely not a success for Malenia. I could agree with the fact that the fight was a draw, but it certainly wasn’t a win for Malenia.
@@vryyyx These are fair points. The Morgott defeat isn't as damning in my opinion due the reasons stated in my last comment. Yet I can't disagree about your points about the stars. I wouldn't put Maliketh that high up still as we know he simply exists to do what Marika tells him to do so in reality he is harmless. And even though he only has one job he failed at that during the "night of the black knives". And also I think you are wrong about Malenia beating Radahn. Even after throwing everything at him he walked away with just his mind lost whereas Finlay had to drag Malenia away. Furthermore in the trailer we see him toying with her. Another point I'd like to make about Radahn though it's pretty weak is: Radahn is considered the mightiest of all demigods.Considering how many people refer to him as that in the cannon I'd like to think it has some weight. Although I am considering if I made a mistake and not putting Godfrey ahead. I'll have to think about it and research a bit further once I do I think I'll make a pinned comment. Thank you for your insight on the matter.
@@TahmidHO eh no matter how you look at it, Morgott still won against him, even in a weaker form as he still hasn’t revealed his curved sword and is using a cane. It’s even possible it’s just a Margit clone. Even if I play devils advocate and agree with your opinion, that’s still to Radahn’s weakness, he is a general of war, he shouldn’t be phased by not fighting on his on turf, neither by a bunch of extra Leyndell knights, they should be fodder to him. Godfrey for eg wiped out an entire race of fire giants with his crucible knights, and radahn is hindered by a few foot soldiers? I meant stalemate not beat in context of Malenia, was a mistake. Malkeith is feared by the demigods, and wields destined death, which speaks for himself. No one knows if he would beat the likes of Radahn or Morgott in combat, but he has a huge edge just by having destined death to the point where it might not matter. Radahn being considered the mightiest doesn’t mean much if at all. Most demigods (Messmer, Morgott, Mohg etc) aren’t even known by the public, so they can’t be included in that judgement. It’s also mostly the opinion of wandering nobles, not so much notable figures. Most importantly, mighty by definition doesn’t imply his power level is higher or anything, it’s more about his physical prowess, motivations, being a war general etc. Those don’t indicate he is actually stronger.
Before the video started I stated that no giant beasts or other such monstrosities would be allowed. Moreover, the Elden beast is more like the manifestation of the Elden ring and to some extent it's related to radagon and Marika.
I think the top after radagon -> radahn equal tomaliketh, with the mostpowerful rune in battle, plus his feat of defeated one wielded the destined death and her army of god slayer power, then messmer equal malenia, his fire strong enoguh to burn the tree like his sister, and he is a master combatant with that super inner power, while malenia have tje god of rot power. Then godrey etc
I think you've massively overestimated radagon, I think the order goes like this 1 radhan 2 melania 3 godfrey 4 maliketh 5 messmer I don't think radagon is stronger than maliketh in terms of combat, I think Godfrey was unparalleled in his time and probably could have beat maliketh, messmer probably beats out the rest of the demigods if he breaks his iris or grace if not I think he has a hard time beating godwyn, I think godwyn beats radagon and radagon struggles against the omen twins but might win with high diff, not to say his magic isn't stronger, radagon while considered a champion is more of a schooler, you really telling me if you sent Godfrey/maliketh to raya lucaria he wouldn't come back with renallas head?
idk. i feel like radagon having control of the eldenr ing would put him immensely above the rest. remeber the shattering giving just a fraction of the elden ring to the likesof radhan malenia etc made them feel ambitious with their newfound power to war against each other for more pwoer. radagon had control over and could shatter the whole elden ring. but thats my head canon. also godfey being able to conqueor all seems more impressive than radhan placment. and Malenia canonly becomes the full godess of rot which puts her higher than radhans who was equal to her in the shattering so i would put her above him too just on the basis of her transformation when she fights us later in the game.
I'd like to take this time to clear up a lot of the common comments I've been receiving so before you leave a comment please read:
First of all thank you all so much for the reception of this video.
But to satisfy people's curiosity, here is a complete explanation of my ranking decisions:
The main theme you will notice is what I said in the intro, we will look at the documented feats. However this is what the orignal intro looked like that set the tone better and I regret not leaving it in:
_"Which characters have best demonstrated their fighting ability based on the lore, considering their documented experiences and feats? This ranking considers all lore events up to the beginning of Elden Ring and the DLC’s main story, meaning characters like Radahn, Consort of Miquella, are ineligible. The order of this list focuses on what these characters have actually accomplished, rather than their potential. After all, while we can speculate on what they might be capable of, it is their documented deeds that truly matter."_
#10 Vyke- If we consider ourselves, the Tarnished, as the most powerful being in the realm (once we ascend the throne) the one who came closest towards succeeding before us is to an extent on our level while just below.
#1 Radagon-
I have a feeling a lot of people had left comments about Radagon without watching the full way through the video, I mean I do have access to the engagement stats so that is pretty likely.
The Golden Order did not conquer Liurnia because of those giant sniper lobsters
Lore accurate take
I like to think if they sent Godfrey it would have been taken care of.
They won the first war, but then those revenants stopped them 😭
Everyone seems to be confused on why Maliketh isn't higher.
I always thought we the tarnished were the strongest. In lore we killed everyone to become lord
He said "up to" events of the game.
Let it be Margit, the Fell."
This correlates directly with the player. If you give up and ragequit the game, your Tarnished has officially lost.
Shut up
Molonia 💀
Yeahh I really messed that one up 😂
Well, at least you admit it
Awesome video I’ve been looking for a video like this for awhile and pretty much agree with the rankings, I love the alt shift x shoutout at the end. I love his content and have watched pretty much all his videos for years
Nah I’d win
stand proud you are strong
Real
And then there's the Tranished, who kills them all and who needs a whole 'nother video to himself.
😂😂
Every time he says "Melania" Ranni loses a finger
Truest Elden lord: the one known as falling damage. Myth has it that it would change based on location so you never knew if it would kill you. True madness, frenzy had no chance
Prime Maliketh solos everyone in this list
I can see why you would think that but to order a list like this I laid out some rules that I stated in the very beginning of this video. Within the confines of those rules, most notably the one about "document feats" Maliketh really cant compare to the rest of them because Maliketh is essentially beholden to Marika and her will. While defeating the Gloam-Eyed Queen and wielding Destined Death are tremendous feats it doesn't compare to those who came higher than him on the list.
@@TahmidHO "Death of the demigods" was his name for a reason
If Marika had to send someone else to take out the gloom eyed queen, that means the queen was a threat to even Marika, which is entirely possible as the queen was also an emperian. The fact Malekith is the one who was sent to take this threat out before even having the rune says it all.
Nah Margot would bang him up
Maliketh glazing, godfrey solos
This has to be one of my favorite ranking videos for Elden Ring. The acknowledgment and respect for absolute beasts like Rennala, The Carian Knights, and The Bloody Fingers is something I never see due to how easy they are to deal with in game.
That means a lot thank you. Although Rennala kind of messed me up in my first play through.
Prime Ansbach should be at least an honorable mention. I actually think he is greater than any of the honorable mentions ranking 11 overall.
@@marcusnoble5512 Ansbitch lost to an egg.
its ok to dream but no
Radagon is also proficient with literally everything. Greatsword, Hammer, incantations, sorceries, smithing, sewing. You name it. Despite his shattered form, he was truly complete.
Bro, you only have 163 followers????? This video quality is some of the best I've seen. Good job man, keep it up! Earned a sub and like!
Also, that malenia K/D joke was 10/10
This made my night, thank you very much.
Godfrey and Radahn over Malenia is crazy work
Godfery beat the fire giants and protected the erdtree for a age, and Rahdahn is stated to be the strongest demigod multiple times by different people with different loyalties.
Radahn is definitely stronger, but Godfrey isnt
@@seekay8079 no
They didn’t include Goddess of Rot, which that makes sense. Goddess of Rot is obviously stronger.
great video brother , keep it up! 🔥 SUBSCRIBED
Appreciate it!!
Tbh Radagon really doesn't deserve the first place. He ascends to godhood yes, but he doesn't really have any great feats? He is stated to be a champion of the golden order but has no major victories to his name. I think a better top 3 would be with Maliketh at n°1
Godfrey at n°2
Radahn at n°3
Radahn himself idolized Godfrey who was by far the greatest conquerer in the history of the lands between, his strenght is immense and he just has won many more battles than Radahn.
That’s debatably the single most impressive combat feat we ever hear about
Maliketh should be at 2
I get why would think that.
@@TahmidHO He did fight and defeat an emperyen who contolled death tho and thats how he obtained the power of destined death in the first place
Where is my man ansbach, sliced an miqulla arm off and was the general of moghs armies. At least give him the honorable mention
@@seekay8079 He is most definitely not tied with Godrick unless your basing your ranking on how easy it was in game rather than what the lore states.
I think canonically Malenia and Radahn ought to be tied.
Maliketh should be #2 at least. He’s terrifying for good reason.

He also conquered the stars, which already gives him more wins than any other character on this list
Also saying that the Tarnished defeated him is such a shit point. Everyone in the game is canonically weaker than the Tarnished, and are all killed

I always thought the Elden Beast defeated Marika, I still do but neat interpretation.
Thats an interesting point of view, care to elaborate?
Edit: Also how would you change the list to accommodate post game characters such as age of stars ranni or frenzied flame tarnished?
rykard deserves a mention
Where’s Ironfist Alexander??? He was truly undefeated because he won ALL of our hearts!!!
@@floodz2089 The whole script was originally written with a misspelling.
i disagree with many picks on the list and I think you even got some lore wrong. i think my top three are radahn/godfrey tied, maliketh and malenia. lets not forget godfrey and malikrth have shown insane feats, even against gods, and radahn is just all levels of busted. and i would be able to argue for why many other picks are lower. radagon was even called a „mere champion“ heavily implied to be weaker than godfrey

Nowhere explicitly.
But, the golden lineage was born of godfery and marikas marrige.
Godwyn is called "the golden", and godrick, who is of the lineage, also takes this title (tho everyone mockingly calls him "the grafted") and calls out to godwyn when he dies.

Fodder trash
Nah the lobsters are true boss they just waiting for elder ring 2
Why you said "melania" instead of malenia

I don't think radagon is stronger than maliketh in terms of combat, I think Godfrey was unparalleled in his time and probably could have beat maliketh, messmer probably beats out the rest of the demigods if he breaks his iris or grace if not I think he has a hard time beating godwyn, I think godwyn beats radagon and radagon struggles against the omen twins but might win with high diff, not to say his magic isn't stronger, radagon while considered a champion is more of a schooler, you really telling me if you sent Godfrey/maliketh to raya lucaria he wouldn't come back with renallas head?
idk. i feel like radagon having control of the eldenr ing would put him immensely above the rest. remeber the shattering giving just a fraction of the elden ring to the likesof radhan malenia etc made them feel ambitious with their newfound power to war against each other for more pwoer. radagon had control over and could shatter the whole elden ring. but thats my head canon. also godfey being able to conqueor all seems more impressive than radhan placment. and Malenia canonly becomes the full godess of rot which puts her higher than radhans who was equal to her in the shattering so i would put her above him too just on the basis of her transformation when she fights us later in the game.
Godfrey is higher than Radahn
@@raiden3013shattering the Elden Ring is not a combat feat, so it shouldn’t count
Godwyn created deathblight, he’s hardly a good guy.
He didn't create it himself he was more or less forced into being the cause of deathblight due to the circumstances around his death.
@@necrogenesis1981 he didn’t create it, he just died and it was created because of it
