Thank you. My favourite throw for about 30 years. Thanks vor showing the "classic" (Arm high up, not what we call in Germany the "Schweinerolle" = "pig roll" with the arm under the armpit). I often aply it successfully against BJJ players while they are trying to get my back.
This is more the way I learned to do it. But recently I've see some videos where they step backwards, turn, and go under the guy's arm completely. Then carry the guy on their back and roll them over.
Your description of this technique is outstanding ! To me, (Soto & Ko-uchi & Harai & Hane) Makikomi are a clear-winning-techniques when they are applied. With some hand-work-tricks ... Uke can't "read" your mind when you're ready to apply them! I believe ... for O-soto-makikomi, the way how foot works, Uke can anticipate your intention. Thank you for this video! Oss.
thanks for pointing out why my osoto makikomi always worked but my sode makikomi didnt! It's not immediately obvious and that body contact makes a huge difference.
Very instructive, like all your videos though! 👍 I would like to ask you a question about self defense. Across MA’s, most moves against a front choke are deemed ineffective. Very often, eye gouging, hitting the throat and other extremely dangerous techiniques are indicated as the only ones to work. Aside Tomoe nage, which would very likely work, what else in judo would you use? Thank you very much for your advice.
I am able to perform this techique somehow, but I always drop on my oponents Ribs really hard. How can I avoid Injurink my oponents ribs when performing this technique...?
This is a great demonstration and a superb explanation, thank you for making this!
Thank you so much sensei
I've never seen that throw. Man, I love drop throws so devastating. Cheers
You make it look so effortless. Thanks.
Thank you Sensei
Excellent explanation and demonstration!
Your format is excellent, Your tuition as well.
Really give the will to try everything you show.
Ty !

Sensei, what is a really good counter attack for this technique? Thank you.
I always hit an Ippon and change it to a Makikomi. We also train Makikomi Hara Gaeshi. Great stuff
Thanks Sensei, awesome!
Thank you 👍
Great channel, thank you for sharing.

Great!
Coach can you also please do a no gi kosoto gake and uchi makikomi
Awesome
Excellent soto makikomi.

If you’re talking about a standing front choke, they don’t work. Any judo throws will work.
Thank you coach! For no gi wrestling, would you go for drop soto makikomi or harai goshi
Harai
Can you use that throw, leaving the arm behind the head to fall straight into a scarf hold?
Sure but that would be a different throw called koshi Garuma
Good stuff as always.
I am curious. How old is to old to do Judo.
Never, just go at your own pace and listen to your body.
Could I also hit the throw from a elbow grip vs the armpit grip ?
Sure, but there is more arm to pull before you get chest contact.
Thanks bro I'll drill it ✊🏿✊🏿@@nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931
👌👌😉

Idk
Can a more lighter fighter aply this against a heavier ?
Good question, yes it can work for a lighter person with the right timing but in general it works even better for the bigger fighter
