      Thank you for you kind words-they are appreciated. Also, we are pleased that you are watching our channel from Chile! Actually, we will have a video on a double sleeve grip and throw on our channel scheduled to be shown later this month. It is an analysis of using a low double sleeve grip and working the angle of attack for Knee Drop Sode Seoi Nage. Again, thanks for watching and please tell others about our channel.

    Good video I was really in the mood for makikomi winding throws. I can do the no gi as well. It's risky I just it is a functioning throw though and generates a lot of power while also being good at catching odd positions.

      @welcomematstevescott  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for your comment Dave. I agree about using this throw in a no gi situation. It's a hard throw for the poor guy on the receiving end.

    Great video tutorials as usual. One minor note. If Tori puts hands on uke's leg during the execution of Tachi Waza, he will get a penalty or a shido (in japanese). This rule still stands in IJF and All Japan Rules. Cheers

    • @welcomematstevescott
      @welcomematstevescott  7 лет назад +4

      Thanks for your comment. You're right-the IJF still prohibits touching the leg or pants. In the AAU Judo and Freestyle Judo rules, it's permitted as it is in other grappling sports (BJJ for instance) so we try to present an overall technical analysis. As in all of our videos, adapt what is shown to best meet your goals or suit your needs. Again, thanks for your comments and please tell others about our channel.

    Is it possible to make any throw into some type of makikomi? What's the most weird, hard and unnecessary complicated throw to do this way?

    Uchi MakiKomi is being explained wrong, its not about the arm placement it's inner thigh winding throw. Its placement of the leg.

    • @welcomematstevescott
      @welcomematstevescott  7 лет назад

      You're entitled to your opinion, and I thank you for your observation but Uchi Makikomi (Inner Winding or Wrapping Throw) is a different technique than an Inner Thigh Makikomi (Uchi Mata Makikomi). In Uchi Makikomi, tori's right arm (in a right side throw) is placed under uke's right arm similar to a Seoi Nage movement. Tori's body is positioned so that his hip is more extended and a wrapping or Makikomi action is used to throw uke over tori's body. This technique (Uchi Makikomi) is a mirror of Soto Makikomi (Outer Wrapping/Winding). Soto Makikomi is where tori's right arm is positioned over uke's right arm/shoulder. So, it appears that the arm placement is a key factor in the difference between Uchi Makikomi and Soto Makikomi-with Uchi Mata Makikomi being a different movement for consideration. We may disagree on this one, but in any event, thanks for your comment.

      Uchi Makikomi is a different throw than Uchi Mata Makikomi. The video is correct.
