    Amazing work! I have a lot of questions.
    What size needle and what size thread for the seam. What thread did you use, nylon or polyester considering this will be outside?
    Where did you get the marker?
    Who makes the stapler you use?
    You made the pattern before adding some extra foam to the seat. This worked out well but how do you account for the stretch of leather which is not as much as vinyl?
    Does a heat gun help when stapling?
    Thank you very much for this excellent video.

      A 110=18 needle size for the sewing machine to sew the 3 pieces together with a polyester thread 92 size.
      I bought the marker from a shoemaker's supplier. But, it can be gotten on Amazon, Ebay, etc.
      www.amazon.in/Holsten-Leather-Silver-Marking-Pens/dp/B0859G9Y62
      I used a stapler I bought from a local supplier, here in Mexico.
      I used two kinds of foam. The first is a 3 mm thick high resilience foam and a 4 mm softer foam on tyop (headliner material). The thickness 7 mm) of the 2 foams did not alter the final fitting process.
      The leather cover easily fitted like a glove because it was shaped beforehand following a technique I teach in our door panel course.
      The heat gun is useful in case of some wrinkles to be erased.
      If you carefully watch you would realize I avoid pulling the leather material. What I do instead is a kind of 'pushing/rubbing' the leather flaps downwards over to the reverse side. Once it is in position I staple it down.

    I still don't have a double needle machine... 😔
    I make due with double passes on each side of the backsewn seam...
    It does make it look pretty!
    How long does it take to get used to not having the stitch on the table plane and instead having to work on a pedestal? (Not sure the correct term for that base....😊)

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Год назад +2

      You would get used to working on a post bed machine immediately. What I consider important is the use of a servo motor to keep a better control of the stitching. I am not happy with the clutch motor this machine has. I would buy a servo motor at any moment.

    • @mrupholsteryman
      @mrupholsteryman Год назад +1

      @@Cechaflo I've thought of that as well... just not gonna replace the motor I have until it goes bad... when that happens...the servo will be the upgrade. 😊

    Sigma Pegamentos should give you an affiliate link to their VL 2000 CONTACTO glue that you use in nearly every video 😉

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Год назад +1

      Sigma's glue is one of the most known glues in Mexico, same as Dap Weldwood in USA... I have also tested other cement contacts trademarks that does the same adherence, just a little expencier... 😅

    As much as I admire the work you do there are some things in this video that I don't recommend. Cutting webbing is not good at the best of times - cutting it with scissors along the length is crazy. If you really have to do that it should be done with a hot knife. For small jobs I use knife tipped wood burner or soldering iron.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Год назад +6

      Thanks for your suggestions! You are right, to cut webbing the best is the use of an edge hot knife. It makes a clean cutting and seals the edge at the same time to avoid fraying. At any moment I would buy one.
      I had to cut the webbing (45 cm long) I had at hand because the seat belt is not so wide. To weld/seal the edge I used a lighter instead. I used this webbing as a core/reinforcement wrapped over with the sturdy leather my customer provided.
