    Maine's beautiful. You capture it well.
    It's a bit late for this, but SV Delos channel was in Maine and did a dinghy trick where Brian dropped an anchor off-shore that ended in a pulley block, then put a big loop around a rock on shore (could be a second anchor on the beach above the high water mark). This too ended in a block. The dinghy then is tied to a loop between the two blocks; (basically a clothes-line set up). After disembarking he pulleys the boat out to sea so high or low tide it's floating. Later, they pulley'd the dinghy back to wherever shore happens to be. Maybe everybody knows this already.

      Thank you! We saw that system Brian used but we were a bit unprepared. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Overall we did ok except for the one time the dinghy got beached. 😂

    Another terrific video - Thank you!! We greatly enjoy our escapes into your sailing adventures and coastal Maine is wonderful. So different than the numerous tropical/Caribbean venues of most sailing content. We enjoy those too, but New England's fun to see. Wifey & I grew up on NC's waterways & beaches, moved to Colorado, had our children and luv its outdoors, hiking & skiing. Sailing videos have become our alter-wellbeing. You folks are great! Thanks for sharing your lives, your lovely frenchy and of course - Fabio's eats!! Cheers

    Wow! I watched this video after it had been posted for 45seconds! So that's a first. Maine is one of the most amazing places I've never been. Years ago my Mom and her sister went to New England for the month of October. She passed 10 years ago but she still raved about the lobster rolls they got from road side stands. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I had to settle for a pathetic small lobster tail at Red Lobster 🦞

      Thanks so much for watching our video right away Steve! We agree, Maine is absolutely amazing. The taste of fresh Maine lobster is unsurpassed. Nothing else is quite the same. Happy belated birthday!

    Is it just me or do all the Maine videos I watch always have overcast skies? Nice episode, except for the lack of sunshine! 🤣 Seems like a nice area to cruise. Where to next?

    • @HarborsUnknown
      @HarborsUnknown  3 года назад

      😂😂 For the most part the skies were gray. Last week’s video did have sunshine but it was a rare thing during our 3 week trip. We have actually already headed south and are right out side Annapolis prepping for the Annapolis Boat show. 😊 Thanks for watching!

      @@HarborsUnknown Thanks for the reply. Best wishes to your travels and safe sailing. Did you receive your steering parts yet? I hope you can get that fixed asap. All the best from Cronulla, Sydney, NSW Australia.

    They say sailing life brings you high highs and low lows.. hoping the highs are outweighing infrequent lows on a beautiful boat in a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing the "highs" of Maine.

    • @HarborsUnknown
      @HarborsUnknown  3 года назад +1

      That is very true! Yes, the highs definitely outweigh the lows and thankfully our brains seem to be wired to remember the good. Thanks for watching Bryn!

    Protip for canoeing... get your butt down further. Ideally you'd be kneeling right on the hull. Not sitting on those seats.

    • @HarborsUnknown
      @HarborsUnknown  2 года назад

      Thanks for the tip! This was my first time canoeing. It was trickier than I expected!

    • @SomeTechGuy666
      @SomeTechGuy666 2 года назад

      @@HarborsUnknown Yeah, most people find this. Accomplished canoers usually wear knee pads and kneel right on the hull and only rest their butt against those seats. As you probably experienced, canoes are very tippy if you sit high in them. It looked pretty precarious getting into the canoe at the boat.
      I don't own a canoe. I have bit sit on top kayaks. Much more stable and comfortable. Tarpon 16s with rudders. Fantastic boats.
      Great videos !

      Thank you! One day we will find the space and money to buy some sort of additional floating device, SUP, Kayak, or may be a mute board
