Loved seeing the bees swarming around trying to enjoy that last of the blooms. Once again, another absolutely inspiring video. I find them relaxing and motivating!
Beautiful arrangements! I love the wild flower/cottage style arrangements too, so much nicer than a professional “polished” look I think. The bees landing on them throughout made it that much more magical ❤ Great ideas for these, very creative as always. Your channel is one after my own heart- a new video from you always makes my day and I look forward to the next! I truly treasure each one. Thank you so much for continuing to share with us ❤
I love your beautiful collection of flower holders! Such pretty flower arrangements and information. But I have to admit I LOVED hearing the occasional chicken pass by voicing an opinion I love your animal's as much as your gardrns. ❤ Thank you for yet another peaceful video of beauty. ❤
I must say I certainly prefer the flower frogs over the foam blocks….their history is very interesting Jeri, thank you. Also love every one of your lovely little arrangements. Sending hugs.💗
I did the Constance Spry certificate course in England years ago. When you introduced weeds as fillers, you captured the essence of her (then revolutionary) style. Mrs. Spry created all the floral arrangements for the Queen’s Coronation in 1953. Her cookery and floral courses are still taught today in Windsor! 🙋♀️👍👏👏👏💕‼️
My mother loved flowers. She would bring them inside from the yard and fill every vase she had. She used flower frogs. I inherited some of her vases and frogs. One day, I placed a metal round pin frog in the bottom of a vase and couldn't get my hand all the way to the bottom. Much like you did with one of your pin frogs. I dropped it, breaking the bottom of the thin glass vase. I've since learned to be very careful with precious vases and flower frogs. I love your channel.
I love collecting flower frogs … I prefer the glass as they catch the light when I have them on display ❤ the amber glass is my favorite color to collect
This was a most delightful video thank you Jeri , i don't believe I've seen a video on all the varieties of flower frogs and the history of what your speaking of is so interesting, what a joy thank you for this stroll down memory lane, so lovely, 🌺🌿🍂🍃🍁🍀🌼🌺🌹 love is the key, always 💞
Jeri, the tablecloth was perfect for this presentation. I love your floral fabrics shown throughout your home.❤ Yes on adding "weeds"! Isn't it a shame we've given them that label because they are also very pretty. And I had to chuckle at the added "chicken commentary". 😉

I have a collection of flower frogs. I learned so much from this video from the history, different ways to use them and seeing beautiful arrangements come to fruition. As always I loved the music and your way of doing things. Good for the soul! Thank you.
Thank you for such an interesting video. Love all your frogs. The animals in the background, soynding iff was so cool, and bees shared in your experience of loveliness!
Thank you Jeri for your videos and you being you! Your videos are top level!!! So very soothing and are food for the soul. I’d like to add your style of creating and presenting your work is restorative for this viewer on a hectic day. God bless and keep you and shine His upon you. 🙏
You are a true blessing in my life. Watching your videos helps me maintain balance. Garden life is the best life 🌼 I have 2 frogs, 1 clear glass & 1 needle, both very heavy. and I do not remember how I came by them. But your history on them makes me cherish them all the more. Thank you, Miss Jeri ❤
The pretty pink/mauve color weed you like is called Pennsylvania smart weed, Polygonum penslyvanicum. It has a way of taking over my flower beds but I pull it out easily.
Good to put a name to it, it invades the garden every year. As you say, it pulls up easily and those that are missed end up as pretty little garden accents when they bloom.
I found this particular video to be so lovely, soothing and relaxing. I sat down to rest after the completion of a four day project. I need to check something via internet and thought...well I will set my weary self down and sit for a while.. I saw this and decided to watch now - rather than tonight. Oh my...this is delightful. I kept dozing off. Mea Culpa. NO, Jeri this was not boring. I was just exhausted and the lovely flowers and your sweet voice...worked better than a lullaby. I will be watching this video again. Thank you. I have a whole 55 gal. water barrel, full of tadpoles maturing into Real Frogs . I rescue the escapees that manage to hop out of three inch opening on top. I relocate them to my "future" pond where the ground cistern was located, outside from the kitchen door backstairs...of my 85 yr old house. I like to use flower frogs in various ways too. May you be blessed and rewarded for sharing so much of yourself with us.
I love your collection of flower frogs Jeri and how fun it was to learn all about them! You made some lovely cottage bouquets with them too. You are always a joy to watch! Till next week!
Dear Jeri, I am so thankful for this video. I am not new to your channel or you (I’ve purchased a few of your wonderful art pieces: a couple of felted birds and a print of a paper cutting of garden birds)…. Your videos are always beautiful, peaceful and grounded in God’s love. My precious daughter, AmyGrace, who has gone through many surgeries in her life was just diagnosed with a very serious cancer. Amy is truly the kindest, sweetest non-demanding or judgmental person I have ever known. She is 45 years old now but seems younger. Jeri, I know you are a Christian, please pray for Amy when you think of her… that God will reduce her pain and give her peace….she is naturally a peaceful person….. thank you for this lovely video❤️❤️, GraceHollyMcCartin from Ohio.
I love your collection. I have just started collecting flower frogs. Don’t run into them very much and the few I have found are a little pricy but I still grab one here and there. I would love to find a blue one. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and all your beautiful items. 🥰
Awww! Jeri, what a beautiful and lovely information I learned from you today! Thank you for sharing your remarkable knowledge with us! Beautiful video 💕
Your pretty weed looks like Japanese ladder grass. It came to the US decades ago as it was used by Japan as packing material. Its seeds were in the packing which in turn became an invasive, although pretty, weed. My chickens love it. Your arrangements are beautiful and upu have a very nice collection of fliral frogs🐸🐝🌷
Great collection! I have frog-envy! I’ve been collecting frogs for many years and using them to put my makeup brushes in on my vanity, tweezers and other beauty products. I also use them on my crafts table for scissors, paint brushes, markers and colored pencils. Super practical for allowing you to see, vertically, whatever you’re looking for. Love your videos..always!!!
I always wondered why they were called frogs. Now I know. I bought a couple of the hair pin frogs to stand old family pictures in. Thanks for sharing such interesting information. Blessings
I can’t recall seeing flower frogs anywhere but I will for sure watch out for them now! I once took a ikebana course - Japanese flower arranging, and we used the pin versions. There was no water involved but arranging the flowers in the most natural way to look as though they were growing from the ground. Thanks for your tutorial, much appreciated!
This was such an enjoyable video. All the history and uses of the flower frogs was some good information. Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us. Your efforts in all you do are truely appreciated. I've never collected these, but I now intend to. And you know I can remember in my younger years of rummage sales, antique shopping and such with my Mother seeing some of these. I'm sad I didn't know to collect them. But at the time I had no idea what they were. Ahh the learning curve of the young, lol. Have a wonderful day. ❤️🥀🦋🐝
What a wonderful collection! When you're collecting, do you find times when you walk away from something and it seems to haunt you with regret later for not taking it home with you? That happened to me a couple weeks ago, when in fact, I passed an opportunity to get two clear glass flower frogs at a thrift store. I didn't really need them, and they cost a bit more than I wanted to pay at that moment, so I walked away. But then they've kept coming back to my mind. And here you are with a whole video about them! I have a small collection of mostly the pin style and the clear glass style. I cannot remember the last time I actually used one, but now I'm inspired. I really like your collection! Besides flower frogs do you have any Pansy Rings? Maybe some Tulipiere vases? You have the most wonderful collections!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us, and your beautiful flower arrangements. I honestly have almost nothing left to bloom in my yard after this terrible summer. But God has blessed me with wildflowers. I made a huge arrangement recently out of just two stalks of Snow on the Mountain. There are a few wild sunflowers too. But it truly is "slim pickins" right now. Guess I need to take a walk and look a bit closer. --But now I have to have one of those Carnival glass frogs!! Thank you again for this wonderful distraction!
Oh yes, that does happen. I once walked away from a huge needlework Sampler in the antique shop... it was TOO expensive. I thought about it for quite some time. A few months later I went to the same shop and it had been marked down by 3/4, so I brought it home for a mere pittance! I have only one pansy ring and no tulip vases... they are always pricey. I hope to find one at a bargain price someday.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I have a couple of pansy rings too, but no tulip vases. They are pricey! I would love to have a blue and white one, and they are often the most pricey! Oh well. Something to keep looking for. :D ...Oh, and I forgot to say how I enjoyed all the nature sounds too, the bees, the birds, and even the snoring dog. Sounds like home.
The floral arrangements are beautiful. I love the inclusion of wild weeds! I have two glass frogs that belonged to my mother. So enjoyed seeing part of your yellow ware pottery. I used to have a pretty big collection, but downsized several years ago. I sold a ceramic green flower frog for $30 that I believe was an early Bybee piece. The bee was adorable🐝
I had to pause the video and go arrange some hydrangea, butterfly bush, catmint, and my strange little branch of lilac that re-bloomed in one of my collection of glass flower frogs that fits in the top of my bean pot. I also use them in the top of crocks when I am fermenting cabbage, tomatoes, pickles or sauerkraut to hold the veggies below the brine.
I so loved this video and learning about the history of frogs and the great ways to use them other than flower arranging. I have collected a few but after seeing your collection there are more varieties I would like. Thank you so much for sharing this collection!
Your flowers make me so happy. I wish I had your leftovers. How much fun. You have beautiful containers. Enjoy your videos TY Another youtuber uses her flower frogs for holding marbles..
I have a glass domed one that my mother had and used frequently. I use it for scissors & crochet hooks. Thank you for showing your collection. Who was snoring at the end of the video? Too cute!
Jeri, I learned so much from this video on the different types of floral frogs. I have never seen a hairpin frog. I had to pause the video to check my own small collection and noted a brass metal flat round low with metal frog top was stamped, "India." I had no idea my glass ones could be so old. Love your arrangements. I have plenty of those weeds! I too can put them to good use! Many thanks!
I really like your use of "weeds" in that arrangement. They are wispy and perfect. I love flower frogs. I have a small collection myself that includes a few of each kind you mentioned. I saw someone use one to hold makeup brushes once.
Lovely as always Jeri. Thank you. I have an off topic question I've been wanting to ask you for a long time. I have noticed in some of your videos your absolutely gorgeous hair braid. I am so envious!! I am trying to grow my hair and have been for several years now. I have used a couple of different Victorian era treatments on my hair. I apply rosemary tea weekly for one. It's so beautiful and thick. You certainly don't have to share anything at all with me but if you don't mind I would be very grateful! ❤
No Problem, I would be happy to tell you that I do very little for my hair. I shampoo once a week with Pantene, have used it for years. When I was younger I colored my hair, but once I stopped doing that, my hair became much healthier and thicker and grew very quickly. I often say that my thick, long hair is the last of my youth, because I just turned 70 yrs old a day ago.

I so enjoyed this video! My garden is done with just fall clean up left to do. Is it possible that the wire flower frog that adjusts was made to, if put upside down, closes over the top of a vase and secure it place by hugging the rim of the vase? Either way the flower frogs are lovely.🐝

I so enjoyed this video! My garden is done with just fall clean up left to do. Is it possible that the wire flower frog that adjusts was made to, if put upside down, closes over the top of a vase and secure it place by hugging the rim of the vase? Either way the flower frogs are lovely.🐝
I thought about that, very possible.
Mine has a patent date of June 1924 on the bottom
I like it when they are dated.
The little purple weed is Smartweed
I have looked in many places for the flower frogs. When I was growing up my mother had a few frogs. I can’t find any in my area.
Try ebay and etsy.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow thanks for the info. I’ll try that. I’ve only looked at antique stores..
I love this and all are so beautiful but you posted the same video a few days ago! 😁😂
No, I had to delete that video because half of the content was missing. It took me 2 days to fix the problem, this is the complete version.
