most are automated but they take a full manual for the run , the steering on them is woeful the ratio is way too slow , king pins are too tight and suffers from galling which makes the steering feel like its grabbing somewhere and is impossible to keep straight on the freeway 'the 610 i drive is still galling up in the steering(4 years later) but its sister truck is fine to drive , the steering wheel is too fat and the texture wears off quickly and becomes slippery , the auto programs for the transmission are pathetically crude and under developed , the clutch slips when the grease runs out on the mechanism and needs constantly kept up with grease but not too much or it fouls the clutch plate , on any given day some systems in the cab dont work , power windows ,dash lights, stereo , dash screen , i'm not going to mention the very few positives because thats all the promoters see and hear , i would not buy and automated one they are full of technical issues that will have you off the road for days at a time ' buy a full manual if you just have to have a 610 or wait for a T900 legend manual or buy the mack superliner
These 610's are rubbish. Alarms going off, massive blind spot on the left, pillars so big u can't see cars in roundabouts, mirrors are to small, grab handles in poor positions, the steps are in awkward spots, the dash is plastic and squeaks, it's loud, the Eaton auto is junk, the steering wheel is uncomfortable.... It's just a freighting with a kW badge
Both excellent trucks love Kenworth
Looking forward to the DAF-test!
How do they turn with the trailer so close to the cab
