I think we as Americans should go back to the cab over 3 axel design. They are easier to maneuver more comfortable to drive and you can still attach a 54 length trailer to the back of it. It’s a truck meant for work and resting. Not a motorhome.
@@unsuitablemoo6185 I was reading an article where the cab over will reduce the length of the trucks in the United States which can bring down traffic and cause fewer accidents. As far as gas mileage? I don’t know. I’m thinking the technology of the European trucks can make the cab over design fuel efficient if it is not already is.
3 axle is also common in Europe, esp. for construction and liquid transportation trucks. Also you forgot an important point, in the US the weight limit is 36 tonnes, whilst in Europe it's 40 tonnes, explaining why European trucks typically come with more powerful engines
Minimum for a trailer is less than 48 and the northeastern USA is much tighter than the rest of the country (especially the west coast.)

worse gas mileage overall and far more complex to bring a cabover across the country
It makes no sense. For long distances these tiny cabs are useless as it's easier to get fatigue while sitting in them for over 5 hours

They would work for day-cabs but for anything long haul they just aren’t practical
@@Jame5man we use to have them before. Isn’t it more preference.

We didn't forget about weight limit factor. It is covered in the first minutes of that video.
Just a cabover..first on the accident scene first crushed 😅
Yes, if Americans built it.
Picked the worst looking European truck for the thumbnail
Which European semi-truck do you consider the prettiest?
@@hmdtrucking there’s no answer to that but there’s an incredible truck customisation culture in Europe. Look up Holland style trucks
This video isn't about customization. BTW, several customized European trucks featured in this video.
