Ops: Cold War!! This is a serious mind bender! With multiple twists in both endings we finally come to the conclusions of this wild campaign. Black Ops Cold War's campaign is set during the early 1980s of the Cold War, taking place between Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010) and Black Ops II (2012) chronologically. It is centered around a pursuit of the alleged Soviet spy Perseus, whose stated goal is to subvert the United States and tilt the balance of power toward the Soviet Union. For the campaign, the player takes control of "Bell", who is recruited by CIA officer Russell Adler into a multinational task force created to hunt down Perseus.

Technically you dont betray anyone in the LIE ending because you work with Perseus
@@H20DevWell yeah but to be fair, Adler was right about preventing millions of innocent people from ending up dead. Siding with Perseus will result in most of Europe being leveled and I can imagine the radiation that will linger in the European continent.

When Bell signaled the ambush, instead of saying "You underestimate me, goodbye Adler," Bell should have said "Sorry Adler, I have a job to do." I really wished Bell had said that, it would have been epic.
Edit: Thanks for telling me that’s an option
If you continue the conversation with Adler all the way to the end about why you betrayed him, Adler will cock his gun ready to execute you and asks if u have any last words. You can then say "I have a job to do Adler" to signal the ambush.

If we’re talking about who is worse to Bell in this situation, it’s clearly Adler and the CIA. Perseus never wanted to kill Bell, that was Arash acting on his own. If it wasn’t for that, Bell would still be a KGB agent working alongside Perseus. Adler, Park, and the rest of the CIA agents knowingly brainwashed Bell into joining and fighting alongside them. They used them, even made Bell think they were one of them. And then interrogated them to get information. Then Adler kills them in the end, proving Bell didn’t mean anything to the CIA. Yeah, Perseus is a villain, but he’s always been honest with Bell, never stabbed them in the back. Screw Adler.
Let’s just hope Soviet ending is canon 🥺🥺🥺. Tbh that would be such a huge risk that I’d love to see them take and considering the America ending is at its end point they will have to start a new story if that is the canon ending whereas with the Soviet ending they can continue where it leaves off with bell still alive and although he’s a voiceless protagonist I kinda like him. Reminds me of soap in MW1

Another interesting detail about this choice ending, the minute you lie to Adler and the crew and choose Duga, his name on the subtitles turns to red.

i liked how it just turns red is so cool
“Good” ending: you betray your country and everything you were and the county your helping kills you for it
“Bad” ending: you stay loyal to your country and serve it loyally and get praised by its leader
I love the bad ending. But i think u missed the fact that Europe became a fallout game
And close to a billion people get killed in a nuclear apocalypse. Not to mention the inevitable retaliation strikes that would kill most of the people who were left.

Everyone hated Infinity Warfare and i agree the online mode and zombie mode were trash but for me was the Story of this Game the best Call of Duty Story i have playd so far

I think it's nice of Treyarch to make you lean towards the Soviet victory ending.
1. You literally kill the chars that you have grown attached to in past titles. To "kill" the nostalgia.
2. Since it was "erased" as Reagan put it, they can reinvent the Black Ops story with a new slate.
The thing I like is the color changing when you pick a side. It's small detail but it really tells you "They're your enemy now."

You know why Raul Menendez was greatest villain? He killed Woods. But if you lie in BOCW, Bell kills Mason and Woods. And if you kill Menendez in BO2, Woods introduced David Mason to Alex Mason. If you capture Menendez, he kills Woods later. Woods and Mason were old when Menendez is Super Villain. So if you lie in BOCW, it creates a paradox, lie in BOCW means ending of BO2 is not possible.

I mean Bell was never really one of them. The evil ending is arguably Bell's good ending.

Consquence : nothing bell will be considered a war hero and praised for all eternity even after his death
Literally leaving bell alive when bell in the good ending was stated to have made his own decision after being aware of the brainwashing to save the world from nukes. I'd assume bell didn't like them after finding out the brainwashing and didn't want to betray his people in Russia but had to make a decision on his own accord to stop nukes. I'd say bell didn't deserve that, that's why people like me chose the bad ending

I didn't like this game too much but I swear this is probably one of the best endings ive seen in a while in a CoD game. The fact they let you betray those who were considered allies is something I haven't seen before in any FPS game... Every other game like this makes you follow a certain path without judging it for one bit, here they fully let you have control of your faith which is really really cool. I saw Lirik do the betrayal ending first and I thought how crazy it is you can just execute all these great characters in like 5 minute shooting scene. Based on these 2 ending choices we can presume both of them are non-canon (yes even the good ending) and that this would probably be the last Black Ops game we'll ever see.

Cold War is such an underrated and amazing game. I actually loved the campaign. The MP was a fun thing to jump into and have some fun, and the zombies was just plain and simply an amazing mode to play and grind though.
The campaign is just black ops one tho how can you be alright with recycling the same story 🤔
