I usually can't stand "High-end-car-owner" channels (Schmee, Daily Driven Exotics, etc), but I feel like there is something about the owner's attitude that exudes pure appreciation for the machinery in a way I don't get from most owners of exotic cars.
As a 43 y/o man who has been obessed with this car since I was a young lad, thanks for this video. Its the closest I am going to get to the experience and its nice to get the inside scoop on the experience. And man, that blue is just wonderful.
@Zx10r 08 I think that at the era of the F40, people who bought them just wanted strangers to see that their car is a ferrari just by the colour. I can be wrong but most of the F40s are red and I've only seen some yellow ones. Never a blue one. So maybe only one guy said: 'Fuck that red colour. I like blue.'

Great review Sam. Makes my garage look mega humble. Nice to see an F40 in a real world context rather than just rolling onto a podium at Pebble Beach. Cheers 👍
Thank you for this Sam, made my day ! I drove one in Kuwait a few years back, essentially no speed limits back then there. A great experience that I will never forget, a super bike quick car, so raw, so quick, so nice. No wonder Ferrari never allowed the F40 to be tested side by side to the 520 Din HP'ed F50. It's amazing to see how good this blue color makes the car and the lines come out

The fact that you drive it, use it on b roads, in the snow, and don't baby the crap out of it, is really awesome Enjoy it! This is as they say a "dead man's car", which means it only gets sold when the owner passes away
So good that people who grew up in the early internet having posters of these cars on the walls are now getting into the age of being able to afford them. And having grown up with the internet, they actually share experiences which we never thought we'd see when we had those posters on the walls.
I was taken for a short spin in a red one (mostly around town). I was surprised how basic it was inside. The sound of the engine from behind your ears was just incredible. I’ve driven a few supercars at experience days. Nothing compares to that run I had in the F40. It is was a true F1 car for the road in the 90s. Highly strung and very needy but worth it I’m sure. Thanks for sharing.
I’m not that kind of person who likes to stand out - he says driving a bright blue straight piped F40 - LOL 😆 Great video and a lovely car. Nice 👍🏻 to see.
9:50 'its not the car to drive around town' 😂 great content man! always loved the F40, since it came out in the late eighties and cracked 200mph. Fastest production car of its time IIRC 👍👍👍
I love pop up headlights. I had an 89 240SX with a SR20DET SWAP ( Silvia engine front clip from Japan) anyways I converted them to HIDs right when the kits became available for aftermarket. I'm telling you, Xenon blue with pop ups is just a thing of beauty, especially in 03.

First time I see a first hand review from someone owning and appreciate it. I'm going to get one too. Did not even know it came in blue! Can't be many.
It's incredible how I've driven 360, 458 and was fortunate enough to have passenger-ride in an Enzo. Yet the only Ferrari I ever dreamt of driving is an F 40. They're just that rare. Thanks for sharing :-)
Great honest down to earth review thank you. It's nice not having to listen to someone posing about what watch they have on that day when we want to hear about the car. Great
Just watched this review and realised that I know those streets... I live in Chiswick! No way I will leave London before having seen on streets this gorgeous car!!! 🔝😍❤️

@sammoores I was so happy when I saw this video come up on my time-line. For some reason I hadn't seen any appear, then realized, the notifications bell wasn't selected to get all updates, which makes no sense. This video was great. The F40 put smiles on everyone's faces on the video, and a big one on mine. And, as always, the still photos you included during the video were top notch. I especially loved the ones of the F40 BLU in the snow. Please tell me there's video of you driving it in the snow? Anyway, please keep up the great work and content.
Sam: the back of my F40 steps out a bit on corners because the suspension is old school Powerslide lover: isn't that how I should go around corners? Fully sideways?
I had a Nissan many years ago that I ABSOLUTELY threw sideways around every corner. So much fun. But of course so much less power that it was never difficult to control.
Was lucky enough to blag a ride in one of these a couple of weekends ago. I’ve always looked at the interior and thought wow how “Motorsport” but in reality it’s quite naff. The exterior is 100 times prettier/more striking than video’s or photos, could ever show. The noise comes across really well in the video, pure mechanical orchestra, unbelievable for a turbo charged car. Felt twice as accelerative as a GT3 (not even kidding), the performance, even 30 years-on, is absolutely breathtaking. Never meet your heroes? Yes that applies, because it’s even more amazing than I ever could have imagined, but I can’t afford one!!
Awesome car Sam, I like the blue with red seats. I saw an F40 years ago when it stopped across the road from our house and asked for directions, my sister went over to help and I ran inside to get my camera to get a photo but by the time I got back outside they were driving away.
Nice video! From drivers perspective, all machanics with who I drove hated people pushing their clutch on lights for so long. It wears it out quickly ;)
7:00 The reason why manual clutches often need to be replaced is because most people leave the car in gear at traffic lights and this imposes unnecessary stress on the clutch release bearings which wear out. It's an entirely needless wear process. Motorcyclists don't leave their machines in gear at lights because they know the embarrassing and expensive consequences of the gear lever accidentally slipping from under their fingers.
probably the reason my last car failed and current one having issues at 80K (km) I actually stand in gear with my motorcycles cuz im just to afraid of cars behind me not breaking so it's my only escape...
When i lived in london someone down the road i assume used to rent an F40 when they were back,i had to listen to it being ragged around the streets until a tyre popped and you'd find it left where it happened.. Really nice cars but i feel sorry for the cars in some hands.
Fantastic video. That’s my dream car so I had to click and give it a watch. Wasn’t sure about the blue but in the snow it looks incredible. Great video, great bloke, legendary car!
Such a nice video - and fabulous Ferrari too of course. Well presented. Very fortunate to have such a special car. Love the colour and that sound (no don't change the exhaust!}
Great honest review! I have this car on my list but i have a lot of respect of it. When buying i will need a good (safe) place to keep it there and perfect routes so that i don't "waste" too much precious KM behind other cars. Maybe you are right and Sunday mornings are a must for a F40.. Otherwise, like i said, lot's of respect, especially in the rain etc.
