I live in Swindon and like most locals we have all enjoyed Lydiard Park on various occasions, my daughter when she was little would often mis- hear lyrics and used to sing “ chasing the cows away “ and in a way kind of fits and still makes sense, if you know that area. I’ve told my daughter that when my time comes, I would like my Funeral service to take place on a Tuesday Afternoon and that Tuesday Afternoon is to be played during the reflection segment of the service !
One of my favorite songs of all time for over 55 years. And Justin has no right to still be able to pull it off at his age (he doesn’t need help). The Moodies will always hold a special place in my heart.
What a voice! And still handsome as ever! Saw you at Sun City, South Africa in 1995, fourth row from the front. Unforgettable! Thank you for still singing!
Tuesday Afternoon is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Justin, you are great melodic man. And Days Of Future Passed is milestone in music history. Sorry for my english. Greetings from Czech Republic.
I had a feeling that Tuesday Afternoon would eventually appear on your Tuesday Afternoon show. I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way. Thank you!
The amount of people that do not love this song, must be close to zero. And most likely they are just jealous. This is no doubt a masterwork and piece.
I doubt you'll read this, but I just came here to say that I grew up on the Moody Blues. My Dad had all of your albums. We listened to them on cassette tape on road trips and on the house on vinyl when I was growing up. Your music has been such a huge part of my life, and it was a large inspiration to me learning to write in a visual style. Your music has brought me a ton of joy, relief to sorrow, and solid self-reflection over the years. Thank you for continuing to make music.
Justin, I don't know how many more songs from your "Night's Tour" you have for this video series, but I do hope you carry on with this series beyond the songs from this tour and continue to regularly put up other songs either solo work or from the Moodies and can offer your perspective on them. I've really enjoyed this series and look forward to it each week! Please keep them coming! Thank-You! Perhaps invite John, Grahame and Mike and do a "Zoom" style meeting/discussion/jam? It would be awesome!!!
Justin this song means a lot to me I was walking my dog in a place we call the seven fields it was Tuesday afternoon no one around we were walking under the trees the wind was blowing the tree and their leaves I forgot to say I had my MP4 playing aways in my ears and Tuesday Afternoon came I was listening to this great song the sun was shinning I looked up at the trees blowing away I looked down at my baby and said to Lucy this is just perfect and it was it's a great song I like many in Swindon are so proud of you Justin Love to you and your family stay safe and well in these dark days we are all going Love Nige x
Thankyou so much Justin - happy memories of taking my children for walks through Lydiard Park when we lived in Old Town - my children went to Commonweal School too !! I wait for your Tuesdays afternoons now as a young 71 yrs old lonely lady - you bring back such happy memories
"Days of Future Passed" is a historical masterpiece. Originally, I didn't know, back in the day, that this song and "Nights in White Satin" were in the same album. I was too young to pay attention, I just loved them both. In 1972 I bought a 2nd hand copy of the LP and that's how I found out. As usual, I find myself short of words to praise the work of this wonderful band of geniuses.
I had this record when it was released but never in my wildest dreams did i imagine that some day i would get a notification from Justin Hayward with a new version of Tuesday Afternoon, Isn't Life Strange. Dear Diary: Got a notification from Justin Hayward today, brightened up my day so i went out and strolled about looking at the shops, nobody exploded an H-Bomb today. Been quite a nice day, quite rightly, yours truly, dear diary.
Justin , You are the Best!!! We saw you at the Seaglass in Salisbury Ma a few years ago. Seen you and the Moody Blues thru the years! The 1st time we saw you was in around 1985 ( give or take a few years) in Manchester NH. Elm st at Veteran's Park. It started raining , then pouring ! The audience , we were beyond soaking wet. After your band played for about 1hr and 25 minutes,,, you said " you all out in the audience are true fans! We'll play for another set"). You made Great memories that night!!!! Love Ya Man!!!!!!
Dear mister Justin hayward thank you for writing Tuesday. It inspired me to make my own music and will always be my all time favourite song .you sir are a legend and my hero .thank you so much .
The Moody Blues Whenever I listen to your music I always imagine myself on a transparent tall sailing ship travelling through space and time in the quest for finding the center of the universe, a place called heaven. Your music goes beyond genius and I can never thank you enough.
1967 I was 12 years old and in 1970’s saw Moody Blues at War Memorial Aud in Buffalo NY I not only Love the Music of the Moody Blues I extremely Love 💗 Singing 🎤 Nights in White Satin and Tuesday Afternoon along with many other songs of other groups from this era at Karaoke 🎤 and many really enjoy my singing over the last few decades
this is my favorite moody blues song. always has been. i go to a park in the area where i live named lake chabot. i have always loved to be in the woods amongst the trees and nature in general. tuesday afternoons lyrics really kind of describe my life. THE TREES ARE DRAWING ME NEAR. IVE GOT TO FIND OUT WHY.
I was introduced to MB music when I heard Nights In White Satin...when I was a teen. The '70s. I was hooked. I LOVED trying to play the flute parts to this song. I will again. As soon as I can fix my flute. It's about 50 plus yrs old. This music will last forever. Thank you Justin and every artist who worked on the music. I love it all.
This is the song that brought me to the Moody Blues, I was 12 years old when I first heard Tuesday Afternoon on the radio and fell in love with it and of course with Justin, too. My first Moody Blues concert was in 1970 at age 14 and I have followed them since. And I enjoy Justin’s solo concerts too!
It's not each year that's gone by, nor month, not even a day, it's each and every moment that slowly slips away... without your soothing voice, without your tender embrace, the thought of being with you, I simply can't erase~~~Rising 1973
Well ..that was completely awesome ..brings back memories ..but further ..good to see JH still bringing his music forward ..the years have been kind to him ..
I was a very young 17 when Days of Future Past was released. The first time I heard Night In White Satin, I was overwhelmed by its beauty and the emotions it elicited. However, as I became familiar with higher states of consciousness, Tuesday Afternoon became and remains my favorite Moody Blues song, it perfectly conveys experiencing the wonders of life on an average day.
It's now fifty years since I first heard this song, and it sounds so young, and that's how I feel. From my youth friends I haven't got many news, but from "Days", "Nights", "Tuesday", The Moody Blues and from you Mr. Hayward, dear friend, I always have heard nice and good notes, words, chords, great harmony and rhythm... Wonderfull albums... Thanks for keep going on with this Tuesday Afternoon Video Series.
Love these song too of The Moody Blues, TUESDAY AFTERNOON. I WAS IN THE PHILIPPINES LONG TIME AGO, ALSO LOVE IN MY WILDEST DREAMS AND NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN . JUSTIN HAYWARD I AM ONE OF YOUR FAN LISTENING IN YOUR SONGS. UNTILL NOW 2022. GOD BLESS.
I am so in love with Justin, I would do anything to meet him. My husband just passed away and it was a running joke between us that if he died before me that the only man that I could marry would be Justin..now I wish his last wish could come true.
I proposed to my wife while you were playing this song (her favourite) on the second Moody’s cruise.....in centre front row. Always a special song, that takes me away to that unique, calm Moody world.....now made even more special, thank you.
Justin. THANK YOU for all of the wonderful work you have given us. We covered this MANY years ago. We are close to the same age and it was was a real privelege doing it. I saw you fellows three times in person in the Detroit area over the years. Again a real privelege Justin. Treasured memories. God bless you and yours from our house. To yours Carter
09:16 AEDT WED.11.NOV.2020, Hobart Tasmania Australia. Hi. I love Julie's versatility and bringing out whole range of the Keyboard Electric Piano AHA MO XS8 - Melody, and then Bass End Piano and Solid Grounding Bass Guitar Sound - Justin's and Mike's guitars playing melodically and gently succinctly - the sound microphones bring out Justin's voice as though he is singing twice layered replicating plus live magic - everyone is clapping happily with Karmen - all four nodding smiling at key music bar points - beautiful music sound range, all works wonderfully, and Thanks for Lovely Story. Thanks, Maria and Kurt Schmidt.
As always an outstanding song, excellent performance and wonderul feeling from the group, smiles, enthousiasm and professional ! I hope these keep going with Justin.
Several significant milestones in my life happened to have occurred on a Tuesday afternoon. Once I reflected back on them and realized that had Tuesday in common, this song became very special to me and my personal history. Thank you very much Justin.
Oh I don't want this to end Justin...perhaps adding more songs, or including John and Graeme on zoom? It would mean so much to all who love you guys sooo much!!!! xxx ty
I just came across this video yesterday evening, Tuesday evening, and it blew me away hearing about how the song came to be, I have a dog named Tuesday also, I came up with the name for various reasons but mainly this song...✌🏻
As far as this American is concerned, “Days of Future Past” is a concept album that remains intact, should be played continuously from start to finish, and ranks as one of the greatest albums-Period!😀👍🏻❤️
American fade sucks! Thanks Justin for such a timeless classic and the story of inspiration behind it. I've always wondered what setting you were in to conjure up such beautiful lyrics and melody on that song.
Enjoying “Tuesday Afternoon” on a Saturday morning. Thanks for keeping in touch with us by sharing your gorgeous videos and charming stories. Looking forward to live concerts one day soon!! 🌳
Wow talk about time warp I remember this from the album. A very young me preparing for my first job. Certainly helps me remember those days come back to life.
I must've been unconscious in 1967 at age 13 to not know about Days of... I first heard Nights In... in 1972 only to find out it was re-released & did much better on the charts then. I became a Moodies fan then & have seen them several times since my first in 1981 in St. Paul, Mn. I've been lucky to get autographs over the years & am saddened & angry at the Hall of Fame for not voting them in until a few months after Ray passed on. Bunch of a-holes. So glad a local station plays the album version of Tuesday. Blessings to all the guys.
Seriously, this man is a genius. Sat in a field and wrote possibly one of the greatest songs ever.
I live in Swindon and like most locals we have all enjoyed Lydiard Park on various occasions, my daughter when she was little would often mis- hear lyrics and used to sing “ chasing the cows away “ and in a way kind of fits and still makes sense, if you know that area.

One of my favorite songs of all time for over 55 years. And Justin has no right to still be able to pull it off at his age (he doesn’t need help). The Moodies will always hold a special place in my heart.
This amazing song was my introduction to The Moody Blues in about 1972 or so. It is perfect joy in a sweet song.

There has always been something magical about Tuesday Afternoon to me since I first heard it many years ago! Thank you, Justin!
Agreed. I always found this song very mystical. An ordinary weekday transformed into something unexplainable. Listening in 2022 since the 70s . Peace.
One of those songs that brings back happy memories. Thank you Justin.
World's most excellent singer & humble hearted musician 🎶🎸
